Bring just one healer and this quest is incredibly easy. Without a healer its still easy, you just die and/or pot alot.

You can let the NPCs take most of the damage, just try to kill as many as you can while minimizing your damage taken. You can hide behind the wall and pillars of the aldor base when you need to bandage or even eat. Me and my warrior friend duo:ed this without much trouble, we just focus fired down as many as we can and ran off to bandage when we needed.

Any group composition with a healer class would make this quest absolutely trivial even with 2man. The mobs do very weak damage aside from the occasional aimed shot for 1500ish on plate.

Spawns alot, npc's alone does not do it.

As shadow priest, dot everything you can, expect to die a couple of times, and you'll win it easily.

This entire script takes 6 mintues, easily soloable as any class, as Elastik states, run behind the pillars in the Temple of Sha'tar and stay there for a min untill the mobs resets.

Must be revered. Then you take a quest in Netherwing Ledge that leads you to either Scryers or Aldor base in Shadowmoon to start that.

Since I don't see an edit function, here goes my 2nd post on how to solo this as a healer. When you get aggro, run back towards one of the guards. Use small heals on yourself and wait until the dragonriders fires multi-shot. This will aggro guards, who are level 70 elites, and will make short work of the riders. That or once you're low on mana, go to the inn until you're out of combat to drink.

Soloed as a Protection Warrior. As was mentioned before, if you have mobs on you, run over to the 70 elite guards and when mobs multishot they'll aggro the guard. If you can, stay close so that more multishots will keep the guard in combat. Run back behind the fence to bandage. If you have aggro on several mobs, they'll stand still behind the wall, unable to shoot because of LoS. This helps reduce the number of mobs the quest npcs have to deal with until you drop out of combat. Needed to bandage twice and eat once, as well as use Last Stand and A Potion, but made it through w/o being killed. Demo and Thunderclap helps as well, though it's hard for melee to effectively kill things when so many mobs refuse to land

Managed to solo this as a frost mage. As others have mentioned, if you get aggro, run behind the wall by the wyvern/gryphon and you can bandage or whatnot. If you move back in front of the mob and it multishots, you will have the flightmaster and the gryphons beat it down with no problem. I kept an ice barrier and a mana shield up at all times. Don't worry about your mana since you won't be using much of it -- just your health. As long as you can shoot down about two-three dragonmaw in the little open spot in the wall (by the flight master), you should be just fine.

I aggree with Dianora if it wasnt for her/hes instructions i wouldnt have been able to solo this quest. On ravencrest it is so hard to find groups. So alot of quest i cant do or try to solo. Thanks to www.wowhead.com/tbc and the users that post here ive been able to complete many quests.

Since it's a timed event, I think it's easier to just aggro as many as you can in the beginning and then run behind the wall. They'll all just sit there waiting for you to come out, while your NPC's kill the few that didn't come. When they leash, grab them again. This should prevent a lot of damage to your guys and they should have no problem lasting 6 min.

Takes a couple of minutes but can be soloed as a feral druid - with 5.5k mana pool I simply kept healing the Commander and some of the nearest NPCs. After aggroing the Dragonmaw I ran behind the wall, bandaged to save mana, and could drink/eat when out of combat. At the end of the fight only Arcus and me were alive, the mobs despawned and the quest was completed. :) Might go even smoother had I equipped my healing gear.
Definitely easier with a group, provided you find some people on the quest or willing to help.

Solo'd first time I tried as a 70 warlock. Just took on one or two of the dragons from the edge at a time, as I would any normal 70 mob. My gear is pretty nice but nothing amazing (crafted and kara epics)

I ran off to get out of combat once to eat (probably won't need to next time, had no buffs and was in pvp gear, woops :). The NPCs and commander dealt with most of the mobs with no healing.

Not sure that it's possible to get the gryphon masters help anymore, but from what I saw it hardly seems necessary. Hide behind the wall and bandage or something :)

Yay! There is finally a use for the second most useless tool in the Shaman Arsenal (behind the sentr...screenshot totem) Windwall Totem cuts the incoming damage from these chaps by about half on mail.

A complete and total nightmare of a quest as a rogue. The Skybreakers are immune to stuns, and you cannot show your face without getting aggro from a least a few, even if you're just standing there. To make things worse, half the mobs are unreachable (too high), and since we're melee, unlike all the NPC's, we have no choice but to stand in the front where the newly spawned mobs see us first and aggro.

I solo'd it the first time, but I must simply have gotten lucky because all my attempts since then have ended in failure. Any rogues know of a way to this thing?

Wow... easy.
As a Paladin I chucked BoSanct on the quest dude and just hung back. Whenever I started to take damage I just ran back and got waited for the multi-shot. The guards took care of them all for me.

Nothing hard about it.

I soloed this a few times recently on my Hunter so it's certainly possible. It's hit and miss if you'll succeed or fail depending on how many NPC's die before the timer runs out, but if you position yourself near the wall and take down one mob at a time you've got a decent chance of completing it. If not, just wait for the NPC to respawn and start it again. You can run behind the tall wall by the flightmaster to go out of combat and drink/eat, but you will occasionally get mobs who follow you there depending on their position at the time. Also, as mentioned, if you get multi-shotted the guards will usually get hit and run out to take down the mob. I never had to try it more than 3 times to get it done, but I also didn't have a huge amount of control over the lifespan of the NPC's. Inevitably they will die too soon and the quest will fail, other times they'll survive almost to the end, it just depends.

Of course, grouping is the easiest, but if you're on a low pop server it's certainly soloable for ranged classes.

If you are a healing class then all you need to do is heal the elite master that is helping you out. heal him lots and you will get plenty of agro, then run into the town until they ignore you, drink/eat, rinse repeat.

Just don't let the commander die by healing him, heal yourself, run out, drink, and keep on doing it until they kill a certain amount of the mobs, and you win. Did it as enhancement shaman with healing gear, 1k healing, 9.5k mana poll so... if you are specced for healing you will also manage to do this alone.

Soloed as a feral druid. Put on my resto gear (+1350 healing) and just kept a triple stack of lifebloom on myself. The NPCs would take some damage before my ticks pulled aggro, and then I'd just get healed through it.

Does anyone know if this quest is still in the game? The questgiver doesn't seem to spawn @ his regular site. Weird though, done this quest for like 4-5 times, and suddenly he isn't there...

Just completed it for the first time on my rogue, on second try.

The trick seemed to be to have them agro the flight master by pulling some onto him, so he will help in the fight. In the mean time I just helped kill the ones that were close to the ground while the npcs finished them off. I had /focus on the main guy and he never dropped below 50%.

As a rogue you can vanish+eat when neccesary. Evasion and bandages also help.

Soloed as Elemental Shaman. It's quite easy, just make sure to have your Water Shield and mana spring totem up all the time. I went oom a couple of times, but I used some Mana Pots. It's a easy fights.

A VERY easy way I did this solo as a arms warrior was putting on some tank gear, shield, most stam. When the event starts aggro as many of the skybreakers as possible then stand next to the flight master and guards, either or. The skybreakers will multishot you and this will also aggro the flight master and or guards onto the skybreakers bringing them to the center of the fight where they will be multishotted by others, keeping them in the battle taking a lot of damage and killing a lot of the skybreakers making this cake. If they reset, just rinse and repeat and keep getting them in the battle.

As a mage, when all the Dragonmaw's started flying in i was doing it solo i took out a few , n didnt feel like payn for repairs b/c i knew i was prly gonna die , so i blinked away n went invisable , i flew back on my mount n the NPCS!!! did ALL the work , i just sat back on my netherdrake n watched and got Quest Completed.

Thought this might be hard... was drinking my wine and didn't know what to expect. Started event, got hit, ran away towards Maddix the flight master, healed, ran back out... rinse repeat... quest done.

T6 geared shadow priest and I didn't do any damage... just sipped my wine and ran back and forth. Easy quest.

I suggest either a Merlot or a Rioja for this quest.

Seems like this may have been changed in 2.4. Previously I could solo it, and even if I died I'd still get credit. Tonight I just tried a number of times, and every time the dragons just kept coming and killed the NPC, failing the quest. I'm not sure it's still soloable, maybe if you can get the flight master to come in and regulate.

IMPORTANT: if you kill like 2 waves and then die DONT release your spirit!Just wait some minutes the elite guy will survive and you will finish the quest.

This is actually very easily soloed as any class i think.
Basicly let npc's get agro, if your ranged stand back close to the walls and pull 1 and 1.
If your melee rush up grab one and rush back to guards and wait for the multishot so they agro.

I soloed this as a warlock. died once where i Seed of corruptioned and accidently pulled the whole shebang wich was kinda idiotic really.
but it doesnt matter if you die, you just need to be around when they despawn.

Remember to back out of sight after you kill 1-2 riders, to let the reinforcements aggro on the NPC's first. If you're anywhere near them, they will always attack you first, even if an NPC is closer. Soon as they are on the NPC's, go back out and kill a few more.

I'm not sure when the monetary reward for this quest was changed; I'm guessing it happened around 2.4. Regardless, the gold received for doing this quest has practically been doubled. Judging from the XP-->GP conversion listed on Wowhead, all of this quest's gold prior to 2.4 came from the experience conversion. The extra 8.80 as of now is a nice bonus.

heres the trick, if you have a shield, put it on, put all defense gear on anything that negates damage. than just get aggro on a few and pull them to the Vindicators right outside of the Altar, when the dragonmaw dudes multishot they will pull the vindicators, as long as the main commander guy stays alive for about 4 nda half minutes, your golden

Dont be afraid of dying - you can just run back where the fight is in 5secs and continue again.

Not hard to solo (even as Holy paladin like i did) just equip the new trinket you got and some other stam gear and use your CD's when they are ready (the little netherwhelp helps alot imo)

I was able to solo this with my resto shaman. I died once. Apparently being killed doesn't affect the success of the quest.

To be honest, 'suggested players: 3' has got to be a typo.

I've solo'd this every day since I got it as a Holy Priest.

Simply heal yourself and the NPC's. The best part? All of the Aldor Defenders (not counting the Commander) are considered to be in one group for purposes of Circle of Healing. Keep Shield and Renew on yourself. If too many Dragonmaw start attacking you, run next to the flight master and stand there until one of the Dragonmaw casts Multishot, which will bring some angry flying creatures to your aid.

Easiest 500 rep daily ever! :)

As a paladin (holy) you can in the start buff all the NPC's with kings so they have more HP and will last longer.

If you will have a nice start of it (imo) you can start when you receive the first shot - pop bubble so the archers get aggro pop your Trinket with your netherwing ally and let it attack the mobs - will make a less pressure on the archers who's helping you.

Now just start heal the archer - i normally target an attacker so i can see who is getting nuked then just heal those.

Just do this the whole way to the end and you wont die a single time, but if you die just run back. the GY is just beside the place where the fight is going on.

When you are done you will receive 500rep + 18gold it's a nice reward and will for sure help you alot of gaining your Netherdrake

It took me a couple tries to get this down, but once I did it was easy as a holy priest. Stand in the gap between the gryphon master and the elite npc. Throw heals on him, occasionally you will pull aggro, just back up to the gryphons and they will scatter shot you pulling the gryphon master and all his griphons who will quickly take them down. Rinse and repeat. Only takes about 4 mintues to do.

Any ranged DPS or healing class should be able to solo this one. Melee DPS is boned with all the targetting issues with the flying mobs.

That being said - it is a very hard task without a group. Really enough bodies to absorb enough damage away from the commander is your goal. Use him for a tank and heal him if you are tank poor. Stay out of range and pick riders off one by one for ranged DPS. Melee is screwed pretty much anyway you cut it.

Soloed this one today as an enhancement shaman.
All I did was run out to get in range of Commander Arcus, throw out Windwall Totem 4, heal him untill I am down to around 50% hp, then run behind the closest wall, heal self, wait untill a wave of mobs despawns which will make you drop out of combat, drink and eat if needed.
The mobs that you get healing aggro from will focus on you while yer behind the wall but will be unable to fire upon you so Commander wont take any damage from those.

So the trick seamed to get healing aggro from the majority of the mobs, hide behind wall untill mobs despawns (and you loose aggro), run out to heal, run back to hide.

Actually I think it would be easier to be full resto instead of running OOM in an instant as enhancement.

Solo'd it as a BM hunter this evening.

All i did was set my pet on agressive and told him to stay where the commander was. then i backed up near the griff master / guards. i'd take potshots at anything my pet could get agro on.

every once in a while they'd agro the guards who'd jump into the fight for a bit. i feigned as necessary and bandaged / pot'd as needed. i had to rez my pet once (my fault for not watching his health overly closely). otherwise it was relatively painless.

Easy soloable by any class. NPC group could survive easily. Kill mobs and every time you need to rec, go out of sight. If you do it right the guard from Aldor's Altar could help in the fight.

Even though you have a whole battalion of Aldor troops and a 70 elite on your side the odds are not in your favor. Heals are a must! Fortunately the gy is right next to this epic battle and the event does not fail if you die.

Edit: just completed with myself and a fury warrior. If you're a Hunter then your best bet is to let the pet run in and take fire while doing whatever damage it can while you stand back and snipe one target at a time from a safe distance from the battle. Do what you can to bandaige and/or eat during the battle.

Solo this as a 42/19/0 spec'd warlock with the imp out. Dark pact spamming, throwing up plenty of dots and drain lifed. Used a mana pot once, and a fel blossom cause I was OOM and had one of them focusing me, gave me enough time to regen some mana and drain life the mob to death. I don't recall Hobb dropping below 70% at any time

Take these Aldor medals. Mor'ghor will need proof of "victory" once this is over. He will recognize them as coming from the corpses of fallen Aldor soldiers.
