The ancestral grounds begin at around 28,60. There's a bonfire that can be used for cooking within the complex at 25,59.

It will be necessary to take out a few spectral orcs to get to the bonfire, probably 7 or 8 at most.

Kill the Cleafhoof which easily around nagrand, you'll get the meat. Go to Ancestral Grounds in Nagrand, 25,59. Open your cooking skill and cook 4 roasted clefthoof. Then click the cooking pot near the bonefire given by the NPC.

You should always and always choose Barrel of Fish, as it has some chance of containing Furious Crawdad(best tanking food, worth nice gold too)!

If you are cooking, you don't absolutely need the bonfire in the Ancestral Grounds, you can also use your own campfire while on the edge of the same zone (no mobs).

You can create a Basic Campfire anywhere in the Ancestral Grounds area and cook this as well.

The smaller fires in metal braziers cannot be used for cooking. Rats.

Clefthoof Meat drops quite often from the Crate of Meat rewards for this quest. I always cook it up and keep a couple stacks in the bank for this quest. Saves a ton of time. Make sure that you pick up the new Nagrand daily as well if you happen to get this quest, as they're practically in the same place.

The Ancestral grounds for this quest can be found at 26, 61 in Nagrand.

For those without coordinate information, it's an unnamed icon on the map southwest of Sunspring Post and southeast of Forge Camp: Fear.

Guys, seriously.... who cares wtf you got in your box of meat or barrel of fish. MUCH more pertinent info would be "how many pieces of clefthoof meat do you need?" since the quest doesn't specify. (someone above said talbuk ... wrong). It's all great and wonderful that you got a recipe. However, that's completely random and has NOTHING to do with the quest. 20 people could hand in this quest back to back to back and all take the "crate of meat" and end up with different amounts of different items, some get recipes, some don't. The rewards is not quest specific.

You need: Four (4) pieces of clefthoof meat which need to be cooked into Roasted Clefthoof. Then the obvious, use the cooking pot given to you by the quest giver anyplace in the Ancestrial Ruins (basically 25,60) in Nagrand. Then you are off to collect your reward(s).

I chose the barrel of fish, expecting to get the skullfish recipe. I received 4 golden darter, 7 barbed gill trout and a lvl 9 knife. No recipe. I chose, poorly.

The recipe for Roasted Clefthoof is sold by the Butcher in town, just turn on the food and drink tracker. (East side of town)

And a cooking fire. (Theres a Bonfire there that can be used to great satisfaction.

An important note for this quest is that the pot does require you to be at least level 275 cooking to use it. It is possible to have the Roasted Clefthoof or other foods crafted on an alternate character (since they require a higher level cooking) and mailed to the character you wish to do the quest on.

Don't forget to bring some timber and wood with you because this takes a cooking fire. And the coords mentioned below are confirmed.

The benefit of this quest is that there is a bonfire onsite, so if you just bring meat, you can cook everything (raw -> quest food) in one.
