This is one of the daily fishing quests given by Old Man Barlo at Slimyr Lake outisde Shattrath. This quest requires no minimum fishing skill, but you must be level 70. The quest is based on the urban legend of alligators dwelling in city sewers. Stormwind also has some not so little crocolisks...

The Bag of Fishing Treasures that is rewarded from this quest has a different item ID then the ones given for the other daily fishing quests. I'm going to guess this is because developers wanted the baby crocolisk pets to only drop after completing this quest.

This quest is very simple to complete, I had 375 fishing skill, no lure, and Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole (+20 fishing), so 395 fishing skill in total, and got the crocolisk after about 10 successful catches. No special trick needed, just fish as normal. Anywhere in the Stormwind Canals or either pond in Orgrimmar will yeild this after a few attempts.

Just completed this quest after about 5 casts in Stormwind. The Bag of Fishing Treasures gave me the same items as the other quests: 7G, some +100 Lures and a grey Tooth.

I really wish they'd said there are crocolisks in Undercity...because, seriously, where would a crocolisk hide in orgrimmar? Undercity has sewers, I don't care if the water is green.

I obtained this quest with only 263 fishing on the PTR, so a high skill level is not required.

I also recieved this as the daily 2 days in a row. That might be coincidence, or it might be Blizzard only handing out the fishing quest that I have the skill to complete. I didn't check the PTR after that.

Either way it's good, becuase it gives me a good financial incentive to level my fishing a bit more while doing an easy daily. Ever since they took the fishing out of AV I hadn't done any!

I did this quest in 4 casts, i was at 317 fishing at the time, no lure. Also got my fishing hat on my first turn in. I already love 2.4. Good luck mates

Just thought I'd add this because I thought it was hilarious. I accepted the quest at 1 fishing skill, went back to Stormwind and bought a rod, casted once, and caught a crocolisk on my first cast. This quest can easily be completed by any level of fisherman.

25 casts. (405 skill no lure, I did about 10 casts with a +75 lure but it ran out while I tried a different pool and checked out wowhead!)

Just thought I'd add - to those of you who are trying for the baby croc pet (Snarly and his variant cousins)... it is true that this quest only requires a fishing skill of 1 to accomplish. However, there is no guarantee that you will get this quest, there are 4 other daily fishing quests you can get - which (unfortunately for you fishing noobs) do require high-ish skill levels to accomplish.
The other possible quests?

Shrimpin' Ain't Easy (Zangarmarsh)
Bait Bandits (Terokkar)
The One That Got Away (Nagrand)
Felblood Fillet (Hellfire Peninsula / Shadowmoon Valley)

If all you're after is the Croc, these quests are going to be your worst enemy. Best bet is to pick up fishing on all your alts and check the fishing daily each day for the "Crocolisks in the City" quest, then do it on all your characters since it has no fishing level requirement. HOWEVER, the pet is BoP so don't use this method on alts you plan on deleting.

Let it be known for those wondering when you can pick up this quest, I believe there is a level required and it is above 49 because the guy would not even talk to me. As for the fishing skill required I am 75 skill and I cannot talk to him and I am level 49. So if someone knows the level required please post. Thanks!

Level 70, Fishing Skill of 373 when I picked up quest... The Croc did not drop for me until I reached 375 (max skill), at which point it immediately dropped.

Completed this on my Warrior, sadly did not get a Croc this time. Tried my luck with my Priest, grabbed fishing and some Lures (+25) went to Org and started fishing. Caught it on my 3rd cast, 3 base fishing with +25 lure (28). To easy if you ask me. Sadly no Croc for priest either.

It should be noted that the pets are random rewards from this quest. You aren't guaranteed a pet croc. with this quest. You still have the luck of the draw. My first attempt gave me some gold, the fishhooks and some random gray vendor trash.

Guess I got lucky first cast off the dock near the jail was the baby so I flew back to the quest giver and got Muckbreath out of my bag of goodies.

I did this on my 70 night elf hunt and i got no Croc either, but i got some hooks,some pearls and the book that teaches you Find Fish :-) i settle for that too, not giving up on the crocs though

I don't know if this helps hordies, but there might be a better chance of catching the Crocolisk in the Valley of Honor Pond. I casted 10 times in the pond where you arrive from the Shat portal. I went afk, came back, and went to the Valley of Honor pool, caught it in one cast.

Logic was since the crocolisks were sold to kids, the pond near the orphange made better sense.

This is not the only fishing daily like Mirre said, But it is the only daily you can get with lvl 1 fishing. I think the other dailys need a 350 fishing to get so you wont be able to get a quest if it happens to be one of the 4 that need higher fishing.

You are aware that the fishing trainer in Orgrimmar is right outside where the portal from Shattrath takes you, right? Going to Zangarmarsh is a HUGE waste of time.

An additional note, the fishing trainer is in the canals in Stormwind near where you exit the mage district. And seeing as you have to fish in Azeroth to complete the quest having to go to Azeroth to train fishing is far from unfortunate (especially with he placement of the fishing trainers).

You have to have a minimum of 1 fishing skill to get this quest. You have to train fishing to 1/75, then get the quest in Terokkar, then go back to the capital city to do the quest.

Pretty easy quest ... picked it up, took a portal to Stormwind and picked up fishing from the trainer on the docks.

As stated, you can complete this quest with level 1 fishing. ... I didn't do anything special, just bought the cheap fishing rod (no bait or anything) and did a few casts. Took about 10 minutes to complete.

Weird, I got the Crocolisk on my 51st Cast. I did my first 50 in the Valley of Spirits, then moved to the valley of honor and got it on my first one.

Anyone else seen a difference in fishing in the two places, or is my luck absurd?

i got this little guy on the 8th cast, fishing him in the little pond area where you port in from Shat. nice, tidy, easy. =)

I'm going to blow the whistle on a fairly recent discovery in this quest. You can fish the baby crocolisk from the small pool in the forlorn cavern in Ironforge. This HAS been confirmed and if you don't believe me, try it yourself. :P

My first time doing this quest today, got the baby croc in less than 20 casts in the pool near the dock in Org. Got some fishing hooks, a few greys and a cute new pet. Don't know how rare he is.

ETA: 3/30/08 I got the Weather Beaten Fishing Hat from this quest. I'm in heaven.

i had lvl 1 fishing and got the crocodile by lvl 25, next day i got it by lvl 34. this daily can be done without maxxed fishing since its in low lvl waters. the rest cant be.

i just got a reward of 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks, Grey Item for 1,5g Vendor Selling and a Binds when equipped/Unique-Equipped GEM with +15 Stamina:

Eye of the Sea give a nice amount of gold on AH as long as nobody knows about the reward.

Although you can supposedly pick this quest up at 1 fishing skill, it seems to require you to have completed the Expert fishing quest before the crocodile can actually be fished up.

I leveled my fishing from 130 to 225 in stormwind (over 300 catches in all) with no luck. I then did the quest from Nat Pagle, and 2nd cast after that I had the croc.

Daily Fishing Quest, have to fish in SW (allied) or ORG (horde) for a Baby Crocolisk. Took about 10 casts. Reward is Bag of Fishing Treasures. My bag had 6g 99s 99c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hook (gives +100 fishing for 10 mins), and a Razor Sharp Fillet Knife. There are obviously different rewards possible.

Never had much use for fishing, was able to get it on the 7th cast with lvl 27 fishing. Got 7+ gold, green item, and good hooks from the bag.

Tried the quest first time today, even picked up fishing to be able to do it, caught one on the 9th cast, fishing skill 10!

Took me 9 casts in SW to get the Baby Croc. My base fishing skill was 347 with +22 for pole and gloves.

I stood on the dock in SW where the fishing trainer is located.

As a reward, I received 7g5s92c, Sharpened Fish Hooks x5 (+100 Fishing for 10 min), Giant Shark Tooth (grey, 1g50s), Fishing Knife (grey dagger)

After about 50 daily fishing quests from Old Man Barlo, got the Crocolisks in the City for the 15th time. Went right by the first aid trainer in ORG, caught it on the first cast (fishing 360 w/ a sharpened hook for luck), turned it in and got Muckbreath, a baby crocolisk companion pet!

Lesson learned: Never give up!

Got it at fishing lvl 6. I was really hoping to get it at level 1. I "lost" my fish like 25 times so I'm assuming it was the croc but my chance to get it was too low at my fishing level

Can anyone else confirm/deny (as paelor mentioned) being able to complete this quest with under 225 fishing? All my alts are between 100-200 fishing.

Horde:
1. Port to org
2. turn left and just fish in the pools there.

Notes:

1.You must be lv70 for the fishing quest.
2. You dont need any skill level to do this quest, rest you do.
3. Has a chance of getting 1 of 4 pets, so do this even on your lv70 toons with no fish skill.

I went to Orgrimmar and fished just standing in the pond near the dock back in the Valley of Honor.
I caught the Baby Crocolisk on my 44th cast, so you may get lucky and catch it early or you may have to do a bit of fishing...lol.

I was about to post and say that after 50 casts it would appear that unlike most dailies, if you pick it up one day you cannot complete it on a subsequent day. However the croc dropped after 53 casts. So it CAN be done on a subsequent day.

Hello <lad/lass>. I'm glad you've stopped by to talk to this old man--there's trouble back home.

A traveling merchant recently sold a batch of baby crocolisks to some gullible children. Crocolisks are wild beasts, and many have escaped and now lurk in city waterways.

Grab your strongest fishing pole and drop a line in Stormwind or Orgrimmar and bring one of the little devils back to me. I'm anxious to see one.
