As a side note, for some of us who enjoy the "entertainment of the common man", i.e. professional wrestling, this is a reference to The Godfather from the WWE who effectively got ran out because they wanted to clean up their image and couldn't have one wrestler playing a pimp. It was his "catch phrase".

Seems to be bugged on current PTR push. After catching and opening 15 bloated trout, I had 15 partially digested weeds to show for my effort. The shrimp are not dropping.

Went straight Zangermarsh and started fishing. There is not spawn spot for the bloated trout, jsut start fishing. Once you get one open it, it will save you some time because some of the trout have more then 1 shrimp.

Don't make the mistake of skimming the quest and trying to fish for the bloated trout in Silmyr Lake. They do not drop there (and it has a higher required level).
Instead, just head to the southern edge of Umbrafen Lake in Zangarmarsh, they seem to drop about 80% of the time, and can drop 1-2 shrimps each.

I just did this quest with only 360 fishing skill in Zangarmash in The Lagoon and got all my shrimp in about 10 minutes of fishing.

Did this today on live 2.4 server, in 4 minutes 17 seconds, fishing in Marslight Lake, I caught 8 Bloated Barbed Gill Trout and I looted them as soon as I caught them. I also caught 3 spotted feltail, and one fish got away, so that makes a total of 12 casts.

I have 375 fishing skill + 42 from equipment, used a +100 lure to avoid any fishing getting away after that 1 sucker escaped my hook.

In each Bloated fish was 1-2 Giant Freshwater Shrimps and 1 piece of Partially Digested Weeds.
On the last Bloated Gill I actually got 2 shrimps, so i got 11 alltogether, next time doing this quest i got that 1 extra shrimp to start with :D

So, all in all, easy money,

my reward was 7g 35s 69c, 6 Sharpened Fish Hooks and a Piece of Polished Driftwood.

Still no crocolisk :(

Same here, only a note to those, these fish do have a 2 hour duration, so you lose them after two hours, not sure if the shrimp do as well didn't check.

It takes about less than 10 minutes, as Lax said. Turned it in, but didn't get the pet, did get a Shadow gem though. >< kinda would have rather had the pet.

The best place to do it is right off the CCR camp that you enter into from Hellfire, no mobs to really worry about at all. used +100 lure, +20 fishing pole and 259 fishing never lost one.

Simplest 7g you'll make in a day, and I think simplest new daily quest too.

If your fishing is maxed, you do not need a lure at all -- Seth's fishing pole will do. Ive done this quest twice now, and all but one fish caught total have been the needed fish. I was fishing at Umbrafen Lake, and no fish escaped.

Anywhere you can catch Barbed Gill Trout, they will be replaced by the Bloated Barbed Gill Trout as long as you have this quest and only until you get 10 shrimp. For example, fishing in Zangarmash will give you one with about half your casts (assuming you catch anything). I haven't confirmed it but others say you can only have one bloated trout in your inventory at any one time so open it before trying to land another. Each one gives 1-2 shrimp.
With fishing at 375+35+100, I never miss a fish but with only +50 on a lure I miss a little less than half of the time. Some areas of Zang and elsewhere, you will not be able to fish with 455 total skill.

I found this to be extremely easy to get.
I got like 6 Bloated Barbed Gill Trout in 7 casts and most Bloated Barbed Gill Trout has 2 Gian Freshwater Shrimps inside.

Definitely worth doing.

It's not true about catching these anywhere you can catch Barbed Gill Trout, I tested this in the Highland pools in Terokkar and low pools in Nagrand and caught only regular Barbed Gill Trout. So I made my way to Zangamarsh as I was wrapping up other dailies.

Once I arrived in Zangamarsh, I noticed the West & East Beacons were gray so I stopped at West to bring it to our side on the way to Umbrafen Lake; once that ticked all the way to our side, I went to the East Beacon and started the same, then it dawned on me to try and fish while the ticks were going. There is a little nook just to NE corner of the East Beacon where you can fish and still get ticks (have to keypress a few times to get cast to land but it works). Got all the shrimp I needed in almost exactly the time it took to completely cap the beacon :) (I also opened every trout on catch and only caught 3 non-trout)

If more Horde players took this selfless attitude towards the game, the Alliance numbers would surely dwindle as they fell before the might of our unity. FOR THE HORDE!

FYI, you can catch the bloated barbed gill while in a raid, but you'll never get any shrimp out of them while in a raid.

In Zangermarsh, when not fishing in a pool. I was able to get a bloated barbed gill trout on each cast. They seem to be pretty easy to catch and not as hard as what sandrock was saying. I had 10 (10 casts) in my inventory before opening any of them. Seems to be 1 or 2 shrimp in each fish, along with Partially Digested Weeds. Pretty easy fishing quest if you ask me. BTW, fishing is at 495.

- There seems to be no limit to the amount of fish you can fill up your bags with.
- Fish have a 2 hour duration, so they must be opened by than.
- Each cast appears to pull up the Bloated fish, and every 10 or so I've been getting a Spotted Fentail, or Zangarian Sporefish.
- After you have your 10 shrimp, the rest of the fish in your inventory will only weild Partially Digested Weeds when opened.

The shrimp quest drop items do not have a timer.

The weeds sell for 75 copper apiece, and aren't worth filling your bags with.

Edit: I'm not sure why this is getting rated down. Someone had originally asked whether or not the quest items had a timer. I figured I'd add the weed value to provide further information.

1st cast, 4th cast, 6th cast, 7th cast, 8th cast, 9th cast, done.

Took about 4 minutes.

10 shrimp required to complete, I caught 11 and after turnin 1 Giant Freshwater Shrimp still in inventory.

Just finished it today. My first Fishing Daily.

Had 285 Base Fishing, +25 Pole, +100 Lure, finished it in about 7 minutes. Kept losing the fish, but I got 'em all eventually.

Just as a side note, and I have not tested this very hard, but I think if you have an "extra" shrimp and you keep it, you'll only be able to loot the shrimp up to the correct amount. I found this out when I placed a shrimp in the bank, then tried to complete the quest. The Bloated fish only dropped 9 shrimp, and no matter how many I opened after that, I couldn't get more. I think the quest is designed so that you can't accumulate the shrimp too much in order to simply complete the quest right after accepting it.

Do not try to fish for it in schools. I know this isn't a large sample but I fished 3 schools with 10 casts and got no bloated fish. Then I fished in open water and got 6 bloated in a row, enough to get the 10 needed for quest.

I fished in marsh and umbrefen lakes and caught 21 bloated trout. not one of them had any shrimp! just weed. So this girl is pretty frustrated. I dumped the quest and picked up a new one. It was the same one. Any tips?

OK. I did the quest again tonight and got shrimp in every pull. took maybe 5 minutes to finish the quest. So..nevermind. =)

fished serpent lake south shore - 70% bloated, 30% of them had 2 shrimp

I fished today at exactly 37.48, 44.04 into Serpent Lake and caught 16 of the bloated trout in a row. No lure, just 375 maxed fishing skill. I was hoping that when I opened them all I'd be able to get some extra shrimp to store in the bank (since I read above that the shrimp themselves don't have a 2 hour duration timer like the bloated fish do) for next time this quest came around, but once I hit 10 shrimp, every bloated fish I opened after that had the seaweed in it and no shrimp. Just in case anyone else wants to try and stock up.

I have had a case where I was opening bloated fish and I had 9 and the next fish I opened had 2 in it, so I got one extra to save, but that's all.

I've found the best way to catch these "Bloated Barbed Gill Trout" is to NOT fish at any schools. I was fishing JUST schools of fish, and wasn't catching ANY... I went and just fished any place in Zangamarsh (but primarily off the big lake) and caught enough to get 10 shrimp in about five minutes.

I spent about 45 minutes on this, found the bloated trout and got 15 partially digested weeds when I clicked on them. No shrimp at all. It even showed up on quest helper but all I got was a bunch of weeds. Maybe they are worth something?

Finished in just a few minutes at the Lagoon. My starting fishing level was 355 with buffs, I have just a few misses.

Not a bad quest, pick up the quest and simply fly over to Umbrafen Lake in Zangermarsh and start casting your line (do not fish the schools). I did it with 353 + 122 fishing. Took me about 14 casts to get all the shrimp.

You do not need a special knife or anything to open the Trout, simply right click on the trout in your bags.

Flew to the closest point of Umbrafen Lake to the quest giver, 9 casts, caught 7 bloated fish, got 11 shrimp. No lure needed if you are 375 fishing. Took 3 minutes.

One Trout can have 1-3 shrimp in it from my experience.

These do NOT need to be fished out of a Zangarmarsh lake. To save yourself some time, accept the quest, ride up the coastline toward Umbrafen Village, and fish there. I fish at 84, 92 where there are no mobs to interfere.
