Ice Stones are outside the cave at the extreme northeast corner of Silithus. You have to clear at least 8-10 level 58-60 mobs to get ready for the fight, but they are spaced well enough that I never drew aggro on more than two at once. Then, you touch the ice stone to summon the Lieutenant.

The Lieutenant is extremely powerful for this level range -- especially if you are accustomed to the nerfs from patch 2.3. I did not get details about his stats, but he uses a freeze trap and a "stomp" attack to good effect. He is physically massive, for whatever that's worth.

I was unable to solo this on a 57 hunter. Hilariously unable, especially since I missed a couple of mobs that were underneath tents. Serves me right for thinking that a "holiday" quest would be easy. It might be easier for someone at the higher end of the level band, but I get the distinct impression that this was meant to be a group quest for most.

Did it as a frost mage at lvl 63 , He IS immune to frost. so i had to find the fire spells. went down in 2 fireballs and a fire blast.

He is a level 60 non-elite.

I soloed him very easily as a level 63 feral druid. Don't let his size put you off.

He is not lootable.

The surrounding mobs drop Encrypted Twilight Text.

Did this solo as a 60 Hunter... was very easy. I made sure to clear the mobs around the tents, and there is a wandering mob that paths down the hill from the east that looks like a tornado (I forget the name) and he added when I started the fight with the big guy. Make sure you clear the patrols, especially if you are going to need to do any casting.

The bonfire desecration was also the easiest to do in this zone, so might as well do that part of the event while you are here too... there were no alliance members nearby, and I could sit at the edge of the camp and touch the bonfire. It was a quick 9550 exp at level 60. The bonfire is located just east of the FP.

most &*!@d up daily ive ever seen. i get it at level 56 but you have to clear like 5 level 61s before u can even touch the stone so when ive finally cleared the last one they start to respawn and ull be trying forever so if u havent got too good gear dont try it

Doesn't req. level 60, it requires level 56.

Solo'd as a 63 Prot Pally (no surprise there) I lost more HP to the lower level mobs clearing to the stone than I did from the quest mob :>

Yeah it's level 56. I was pretty @#$%ed off when I found out that I had to go all the way to Silithus for this, rather than at level 60. WoWWiki has incorrect info on this.

The quest designers at Bliz need to be shot for this one. My toon hit 56 while working on the Midsummer quests, opening up this quest and closing the version I had been doing (Searing Gorge). The previous version of this quest was a cakewalk. I know the highest level version is also a cakewalk, even for the lower end of the level range. But this one? What a freakin' nightmare. Lots of 58-60 mobs in the area, including wanderers and plenty of spellcasters, not to mention the animal mobs behind you if you pull back.

Yeah, maybe this is doable at level 56, but only if you are VERY careful about pulls, are very aware of where every mob is in the area (a level 60 agros on a level 56 from a painful distance away) and spend waaay too much time on it. It is also about as far from a capital city as you can get. It's not worth the time you would have to spend on it, at least for a level 56 toon. Very poor transition from the previous version of this quest.

While I'd like a full set of Midsummer gear, it isn't worth it if I have to deal with this stupid quest on a daily basis.

Soloed as a 57 Rogue. just stealth around to the western side of the stone(where the rocks are. Kill the few humanoids that spawn on this side. then sap the humanoid on the northern side (looks like an undead for me but you can still sap it) then just run up touch the stone and run back to the rocks and kill the Glacial lord. If you accidentally aggro something other than the lord just use evasion kill the lord then sprint/vanish out of there.

Totally easy to solo as a 56 hunter (I dinged 57 killing the last mob before summoning). Clear a few mobs, and then pull him away when summoned.

/agree w/ bombcar. I was intimidated after reading the comments, but I'm a 56 balance druid and I breezed right through this quest. If you pull two at once as a low lvl you're screwed (which I learned trying to sneak away), but if you pull one at a time, you should be fine. And as mentioned, the main guy you're after isn't as bad as the guys guarding him. Not by a long shot.

I found the Twilight Cultist Base in northern Silithus - but I couldn't find the Twilight's Run or the Ice Stone anywhere nearby.

Has anybody else managed to find it? And if so, would you be a doll and post the co-orindates please? I would really appreciate it after spending over half an hour trying to dodge all the sand monsters in my vain attempt to locate this ice stone! lol!

You start receiving this quest at level 56 (I got it with my 56 rogue) - which really sucks because its almost impossible to solo at that level. The ice stones are surrounded by a bunch of level 60 and 61 mobs with large (in my opinion) aggro ranges. Every time I would start fighting one, at least 1 or 2 others would start shooting spells at me. I'm trying again today at level 57, but I doubt I'll have better luck. They should really wait until you are level 58 to give you this one.

Silithus is the Azerothian base of the Twilight Cult. In the north, they have been using new ice stones to communicate with the Tidehunter's realm. Much as I am loath to do this, the spirits will understand - you must summon one of this Ahune's lieutenants and destroy it. Perhaps this forestalling action will be enough...
