This quest can be deceptively difficult. You only have to harvest crystals from the big crystal formations found throughout the Draeni village called The Fallow Sanctuary. It's the area in the north-northeast of the zone. I found that the Draeni character models blend VERY well with the surrounding swamp, so what looks like an easy one-on-one kill can become two-on-one or even three-on-one. It doesn't help that the mobs are level 37-38.

If you have the patience and want to play it extremely safe, you will usually find one or two crystal formations with only one nearby mob. Just loot those and wait on a respawn.

Due to the fact that the Draeni blend in, and they tend to run when their health is low, you can end up with some very nasty fights, so it's not a bad idea to bring one or two friends for backup.

You can accomplish much more than this quest in this area, though. If you are allied with the Gelkis centaur in Desolace, one of their later quests sends you to retrieve a gem from Ongeku, who is found in the northwestern part of the village. Near him you can find a caged human that starts an escort quest. Finally there is a rare spawn chieftan that tends to spawn near Ongeku.

Solo as 34 Rogue.... Its do-able but but I suggest enabling display names.

What ever you do, DONT attack the Draenei at the camp where you collect and finish this quest........ I did, almost killed him, but NO! healed to full hp and as a rogue... now with 4 NCP on my ass... Not good!

But come on, im Horde, there Alliance! It HAD to be done!

This was one of the easiest quests I' ve done here so far..42-84. the first crystal is at the opening of the cave and then just walk in and get the rest, very simple I thought.

This is what I did, this is for the mages etc that can't seem to kill them or get close enough to loot.

From east of the village (69 21) I ran into the 2 crystals, 1 mob attacked me so i feared it, others can do whatever cc they have, looted both crystals and ran back.

Only way I could do it :s

I found the crystals on the northern road around 55,27 and they don't drop from something, you pick them up. Beginning/end of this quest is at 25,31 ish

This quest should really not be considered 35. The crystals are surrounded by camps and about half of those camps have 38s with minions.

I soloed it at 36, but my health dipped pretty low quite a few times fighting 3 level 37s all at once.

These crystals look like giant Lesser Moonstones (turqoise crystals, can't miss 'em) jutting out of the ground near the Forsaken encampment. They spawn pretty quickly, so just get the easy ones at the western edge of the encampment if you're solo.

For another quest in this immediate area, go to the eastern edge of the encampment and pick up the escort quest from the NPC in the cage (a group is recommended for this one). He is right next to the broken wagon where you get the supplies that the other NPC (in SW part of map) wanted (after you do the kill spiders, crocs, etc quest).

You may also find a supply box on the water's edge. This starts an (Alliance only?) delivery quest that is really easy (you have to go to Nethergarde anyway). Be sure and get the gryph point, to the right and up the wooden tower from the turn-in NPC in Nethergarde.

Galen's Escape

1700xp for completion.
Reward: 85s in cash
Reward: Visionary Buckler (sells for 62s)

After helping Galen to escape the immediate area, he directs you to his camp just north of Stonard (The Shifting Mire - 47,39). Find his lockbox next to his tent and from there you can finish it.

I cannot seem to pick up the crystals. There is no gear when I mouse over them. Is there anything special you need in your backpack, or have to do to harvest them? I already have the quest.

Check your reputation with the Gelkis. The quest says you must "maintain" it so if it's dropped to less than friendly you might not be able to advance.

... for the most part. I died a few times only because I ran out of ammo. I soloed this at lv 35 with my hunter and if i had actually been equipped with more ammo I would of had no problem at all. Dont bother going inside the big enemy camp if your not 38+. Other wise stick to the 4 or 5 crystal spawns right out side.

at level 50, you can talk to Magtoor without aggroing anything, if you're careful (and without waiting for them to wander away, either).

I suspect these guys were meant to be a group you can gain faction with and had various quest lines.. but it looks like their "story" hasn't been fully developed yet

What's the reward from this quest, and does it lead to others, or some kind of faction bonus (since they're all yellow around the camp, I wondered...).

Easy quest. Great for grinding too, as I got lots of drops. There's plenty of those crystals around and they respawn fast so this is easily done in a group, too.
I would recommend doing the "Fresh Meat" quest at the same time too (I think that's what it's called - the one where you feed the 3 caged animals)... and also the quest "Ongeku" is there too.
Look up those quests and go do all 3 at the same time. Good luck!

The crystals respawn faster than their defenders do. Wipe out three then go back to wait for the first to respawn. Easy.

2750 XP. No Faction but some people suspect the Draenii may be the new expansion race for the Alliance, so we might get faction retroactively.

They do talk about coming here to Azeroth.

Really wasy as a level 41 hunter, masses of XP from the lost ones, nice and easy kills, the crystals are bloody obvious, if you do this quest with Ongeku from desolace, you can do that aswell. Fresh Meat is also a good one to do because they are soo damn close together!

250 or so xp at lev 45.. yes I know.. but I only just found out I'd missed some quests in Swamp of Sorrows, so while doing the supply stuff I happened upon these guys and helped them out.. besides, while it may be a coincidence, just after handing in their crystals I could suddenly buy the green dragonscale (leggings ? think it was leggings yes) pattern from their leatherworker..

55,28 is where the first Draenethyst Crystal is then just head East for the rest

You get the crystals by "opening" the large blue crystals around the Lost One village. It's not a drop.

The lost ones who live in the Fallow Sanctuary look as we look, but they are monsters... driven mad by the rigors of our journey to Azeroth. Once our brethren, they now live in the Fallow Sanctuary to the east, catching or killing any who wander near.

And they have stolen something sacred to us--draenethyst crystals.

We lack the force to enter the Fallow Sanctuary and reclaim our stolen draenethyst from among their huts and campfires, but without those crystals... we too may lose our way.
