If you fail at killing this cat on your first attempt, but get him below 50%, the two ads will remain with him even when he resets. Two additional cats will then spawn when his health crawls below 50% again.

This means that if you're going alone, you basically only have one shot at taking him down.

Can someone please confirm you STILL can get this quest at level 28-29 ? Because I've checked Wowwiki and here in Wowhead, both say (as it appears to have been changed) that the quest is now only obtainable at level 31. You could have done the pre-quests for this one, but can someone confirm me with facts (i.e. someone who just got it 1 week ago or so) that you can still get it before 30?
And if yes, WHY would wowhead and wowwiki change the level pre-requisite of this quest?

I completed all the mastery quests, with the help of my amazing guildies :) and was able to get this quest at level 29. Therefore, it is still available for level 29s but not sure about 28.

I must say, that as a shaman, this Q ain't worth doing if you want rewards! They should make them into blue stuff for EVERY class like in that The Ultimate Bloodsport Q in outland! And I didn't need any of the rewards for the pre-Q's neither... so crappy Q I'd say!

King Bangalash will summon 2 panthers, so it will take 2 to complete this quest. He can be taken out by one person while the other deal with the panthers. He respawns fairly fast, if you get there just as someone else kills him. It is good if you have someone run you through the whole chain in a row.

I saw a level 50 hunter in Westfall with this mob as a pet and it was still elite. Can anyone confirm that it is possible to tame it, and also that it stays elite?

If you fail, or someone else has, you can pull him and run away and then kill his adds. He resets before his adds.

He will have the two companions only after someone has failed to complete the quest but got him down to approx 50% health. Normally he is by his lonesome and the adds only come later.

Just soloed this guy as a 41 paladin...one of the most fun battles I've ever had. he was to the left of the road just before the first bridge leaving Booty Bay on top of a hill...just kill everything around him first...when he calls his pets they are both 33 regulars...so don't bother with them till you kill him.

Bangalash is just a little SE of Mizjah Ruins, which is E of Grom'gol Base Camp and S of Lake Nazferiti (West bank). He is on a small hill.

At the time i had to complete this quest i had no coords so i found him this way :

Starting from booty bay, you go north into stv.
At the ziata ' jay ruins, you go straight west, up to a small mountain (hill ) and in middle of there is the white saber.

Its not that hard to find, but with those coords you guys give its really hard, lol those coords can be everywhere on the map -_-

King B makes a great looking pet, especially if you are a Night Elf riding a striped nightsaber mount! At level 43 I went and tamed King B, then killed the rest of the mobs in the area. King B respawned after a couple of minutes and I used my new King B pet to finish the quest - very satisfying!

Bangalash will let out a "massive roar, calling for aid" when he gets low on health, this is NOT a summon of minions. It is a call to friends, similiar to the screecher raptors in Wetlands, so all it does is bring any other cat types around to help him. There are usually a couple stealthed panthers who will jump in at this point but you can get around this by "pulling" him away from the area a little bit or killing them first. I fought him on the back edge of his platau (the west side near Se'Jib) and nothing else came to help him when he called for aid.

I know everyone loves tlocs but for those who don't have addons or prefer landmark-type directions find the Ziata'Jai Ruins on your map and find the mini platau across the road from it. He is a white cat type animal 43 elite, there are Stranglethorn Tigress and Shadowmaw Panther in the area, so either pull these first or fight him away from their paths.

Pretty straightforward, I had +22 sta from food and beer, frost trap I lured 1 panther into, feared him 2 times, pet died, but I was able to finish him off. FDed to escape guards. Did not use any pots/gadgets.

Also despite what yellow comment above sid, he does pull 2 guards out of nowhere. Dunno what happens if there are mobs nearby, but when area is clear, 2 shadow panthers will spawn. I have track hidden, I checked. If you kill king without killing guards, and vanish/FD they will despawn.

If you can't kill him on the first try, don't even bother. When he gets down to 20% life or so, he spawns 2 additional lvl34 panthers. Now, these panthers do not despawn if he kills you or you break combat, so every failed attempt creates 2 new panthers. I'm sitting 60yds away, watching 10 lvl34 panthers swarming around him, waiting for my lvl60 buddy to come help....

Solo'd at 43 for me, took some time though. If youre a hunter, I'd suggest first killing the shadowmaw panthers or w/e theyre called (the ones that are stealthed) before trying to attack King B. Then, kill off his panther guardians, send your pet to aggro all three of them (2 guardians and King B) Kill the two guardians but your pet should be dead after those two are dead and King B will have alot of health left so Just Feign Death out of range somewhere; rez pet, regain mana, heal pet, etc. Attack King B with no interference :)

yu can be in lvl 29 and having this gun all you need is a guy that helps you .. this is the best gun/bow in 29 pvp i tell you ! check at the dps : 19.4 and check out the best 29 req gun or bow .. ther on 17.2 is the best one 2.2 more dps and much easier to get ! you only need do get a high lvl to help you and you got it

I soloed this as a lvl 40 hunter. Would not recommend that approach to anyone. I got the kill, but died immediately after. Would have worked just fine if I had a tank or healer with me.

When Bangalash gets close to half dead, he spawns 2 33 panthers to throw in the mix. I tried killing them off first then going after him but he just respawned them again. Could do it without the respawns. A 44 ice mage, died 2 times. Need help.

Solo as a 41 lock. The trick is (locks only) to send Voidwalker in and let him take about 5-6 hits.

If you have amplify curse use that. Throw curse of agony, curruption, siphon life and then immolate. Dont launch any nukes you need your void to hold the aggro as long as possible. as your Dot's start to drop reload them fast.

Soon he will call two lvl 33 panthers to help.(DO NOT FEAR ANYTHING!) cast dots on both of them and start to pull them off one by one. By now your voidwalker will be close to dead. Sacrifice him for that 1k dmg shield and pray that this bastard drops.

Died 3 times trying this. I feared the adds with howl of terror. DONT do this or if you are like me you will have 6 tigers biting you in the ass.

Well, here is how to do it as a warrior:

- Clear up all those little cats arround him.

-Build up to 100 Rage on a minor cat.

-Eat something to get your HP back to 100%

-Charge Bangalsh

-Activate Retaliation

-Keep spamming all abilitys possible

-When the adds spawn, fear them (bandage if necessary)

-Kill Bangalash and run away

-Return and pick up his head

Hint: It really helps to have one of these bombs that fear away wild animals. They will even fear away Bangalash itself, not only the adds (gives you time to bandage). They can be gotten by doing this quest: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=705/pearl-diving

You all are right. tried it solo. Lvl 45 F.Mage. Didn't read post here till after! The adds got me 2x be4 I relized they doubled each time u die. IF I would have read first AND pulled him off hill. Well probably could have soloed. Will try again that way!

I did it without using potions and only my buffs (mark of the wild and thorns)
clear the area around him since he aggroes all the cats around him. Start by transforming to Bear then feral charge at him and keep attacking until u have full rage, then use frenzied regeneration, it should take u back to full hp without taking all of your rage, then attack him normally until u have around half hp so go back to caster (normal) form and heal your self then go to cat form and attack him until he summons his panthers (at 50% hp) so hibernate KB and kill his panthers (easy since they are lvl 33) heal yourself and back to cat and start attacking KB, if he is about to kill u, hibernate him again and heal yourself (use innervate if u are low on mana or use a bandage if u have first aid) and then u should be able to kill him and thats it! u soloed KB using no potions or special buffs!

So we have a new update...more XP...yeah horray, but not for twinks. So here is a little of what i found out. I knew I wasn't going to be able to get the bow (all the XP involved) in time, but tried for the tunic (since BOE, we get the new BC encht - 150HP to chest).

At full rested, I got the following XP just for the Raptor Mastery Quest turn in's:

RM I: 1,500
RM II: 1,750
RM III: 3,400
RM IV: 5,050

I would assume it would be roughly the same or less for Panther and Tiger + the bow/gun quest it self.

So word to the wise...if you want the bow/gun...start it at 28 asap!

Plus the "cheat" still works...
1. Get in a group
2. Die
3. Go back to your body and DON'T release
4. Follow your party in ghost form while they kill quest mobs ***distance from your body doesn't matter
5. Collect the credit for the kills with no XP!
6. Rez and turn in

So if you are starting it late, you can avoid a lot of XP with all the kills!

Stratedgy to do this quest.
First of all King Bangalash is N of Mizjah Ruins at 38,35 , on the top of a hill. He is level 43 golden elite. Big White tiger - can`t miss it.
Step 1: Clear all the Shadowmaw panthers arround. When attaked King Bangalash will roar for help and all felines arround will come to his aid.
Step 2: Whenn King Bangalash roars (if not allready present) two panthers will spawn - level 33 King Bangalash's Guard.

Soloed as lvl 44 warlock (around 36 36)
here's how to kill him
1 make sure you have ss
2 send vw to attack bangalash
3 if you are affliction, then use amplify curse, if not just cast curse of agony
4 then cast immolate, curruption,(siphon life)
5 use suffering to pull agro on vw
6 use life tap + drain life
7 cast shadow bolts and make sure that he always has all DoT active on him
8 when vw has about 500hp, use death coil, then fear, and cast 1-2 more shadow bolts
9 sacrifice vw and countinue cast shadow bolts
9 by the time yr hp goes to 0, u should be able to kill him

Poisons: MH: Instant Poison. OH: Instant Poison

Some of you might say wtfyousucknoob because deadly is better, but all sha'll be explained.

Kills mobs around him, easy. Oh yea and no pots required for this.

Stealth to him, Cheap shot ect till he is at 55%, you should be at 1k health, (i had 2k health, no buffs), BLIND HIM BEFORE HE CALLS FOR HELP! I used Heavy Mageweave and i got from 1k to full health. Hit him a bit, the lvl 33's pull. Use evasion, Blade Flurry (if you have) and Energy Regeneration (if you have) (NOTE: - I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SPEC COMBAT AND GET BLADE FLURRY AND ENERGY RE-GEN FOR THIS FIGHT!) As soon as the adds spawn, use up the combo points on Bang by using Slice and Dice. With Blade Flurry a 2.40 speed weapon becomes 1.50 speed. Focus on the panthers, you should not get hit at all or very little with Evasion on, and you will attack fast, and with energy re-gen you will not need to worry about no energy to atk. HOPEFULLY Blade Flurry will also make you attack the other panther, so by the time you have killed one the other is dead, and you can once again focus DPS on Bang.

After the panthers were dead i was on roughly 1.8k health with 2 seconds of evasion left. He was on roughly 45%.

Overall easy fight, just needed to get the technique right. I tried a few variations of what ive just written down, like popping CD's at beginning of fight, but yea.

NOW! To explain Instant Poisons! If you use Deadly Poison and you blind, it'll last from 0-3 seconds, 3 if your mega lucky, and even with three you will heal yourself (if you use heavy mageweave) roughly 400. Its not enough, you will die. Honestly OH can be whatever, just not Deadly Poison, you can make it crippling if you want, but he doesnt run so no need.

NO POTS NEEDED, NO SPECIAL BUFFS NEEDED. Just pure skill. If it doesnt work first time, no sweat, just try again, if you can't do it, resign, this is pretty much only way to do it with average gear being a lvl 43 rogue, unless you were previously a lvl 39 twink rogue where you can do whatever you want. Or grab a group to do it, or grab a lvl 70... especially on a pvp server like mine, you can always just grab a lvl 70 near-by to stop the ganking.

I solo this with 43 warlock. i just sent voidwalker in then just casted immolate,curruption and curse of agoney and when immolote was down to 1 sec used conflagrate on him and repeated procces till he was dead, didnt even lose voidwalker. and when u aggroed just use fear make sure u kill everything around him though. He didnt even had chance to call add onns.

I soloed him as a 40 hunter.

I sent my pet after Bangalash and I kept using my skills from long range. My pet used Beastial Wrath and Intimidation once at the beginning.

I occasionally healed my pet every about ten shots.

I did use 1 potion, none else: Greater Mana Potion

When the Helpers appeared, I should of used Scare Beast, but I just feign deathed so they attacked my pet wolf.

Bangalash died.

Killed 2 Guardians.

I was able to solo King Bangladash and his two protectors with my 43 retrobution pally. It's good to kill the two Tigres first. Can be found at 37, 36 with map cords. Nice xp from it 5350xp at lvl 43.

This is way easier then people make it seem, I solo'd with my 42 hunter with a pet that was still level 1 (rebelious). My pet didn't die no potions or anything.

Soloed this as a 40 frost mage. Bangalash himself isn't that hard, it's the two adds that might give you trouble. Basically, you need to kite him along the road, using every and any opportunity to sink in a Frostbolt/Fire Blast. Save all your roots/aoe snares (basically, Frost Nova and Cone of Cold) to control the adds and Blink away. The adds are beasts, which makes them polymorphable. Kill Bangalash, loot the item and run (or kill off the adds).
Might be a good idea to make a mana gem as well as bring a mana potion. Full frost is always the easiest since you'll have Ice Barrier by lv40. Investing a point in Cold Snap is always a good idea, since this insures an extra Frost Nova when needed (resist/screw up).
Might take a bit of experimenting and planning, pulled it off on my third try I think.

It's actually quite funny that people are saying they solo'd this monstrosity. I'm a lvl 46 hunter with good-stat greens on, and I can't for the life of me OR my damn pet kill him. He doesn't summon JUST the 2 protector cubs - if you're REALLY LUCKY he summons a third, which doesn't attack your pet it attacks you. I've tried traps, feigning then coming back, running away - I always manage to escape with my life barely intact. So he's not as easy as everyone says, even if you do clear out all the other riff-raff shadowmaws and stranglethorn tigresses around him. Those lvl 33 cubs are NOT playing around, and are a lot more difficult to kill than their level makes it seem. Right now, I'm going back for try #5.

Finally managed to slay the beast with the help of a lvl 41 warrior and 40 mage. The mage made it look so easy I wanted to eat my bow and quiver right then and there and take up dark magic. But it's done, and it was indeed annoying.

Did this one solo as a 43 NE druid. Took three attempts. Very tough. I had to use every bit of mana for heals and shifting (bear), in addition to two healing potions.

The key is circling the perimeter and clearing the immediate area of invisible panthers and tigresses before engaging Bangalash, that is half of the battle. If you don't do that... well, it won't be pretty.

After the area was cleared, I proceeded to kill off his two minions before having Bangalash all to myself. (yes Bangalash will attack as soon as you hit one of his minions but I ignored him)

Love hearing about people who soloed him at lvl 40 after all; he is a 43 elite!. They probably had a bit of luck. If you find him at the wrong time (like I did!) he came with 5 adds! One of the party died and we hung around the corpes waiting for them to run back from the GY. Just as they get back guess who appears again! That's right he has a much faster respawan than his mates. If another party had come along at that moment they would have found him by himself making it a lot easier! Moral of the story is don't hang around too long after you have pwned him and soloing him can be easy or very hard!

Did this quest with a 45 Warrior.
First clear out the area of all the shadow panthers/tigers as you don't want those to interfere when you fight Bangalash.

As soon as he showed up warrior went and I send in pet (also put a trap under him quickly as well for additional fire damage).
At half way Bang's health he summoned two 33 panthers. At that time it took only a few more seconds before we downed Bang. No problems with the lvl 33 adds.

Easy to do with two, and if you'r 45 you should be able to handle Bang alone.

Got 5300xp at 41 for it :-) Long quest chain but worth the XP and if you don't have a better gun already, the Master Hunter rifle is a decent reward.

Just soloed today as a 40 lock. Sent in void, DoT up, Fear kited a bit. His summons took on the void and I had an easy kill. Definitely remember to wipe the area before you attack him. 5350 exp

We had to wait for 7 minuts for the respawn, then some undead mage tagged him, so we had to wait for another 7 minuts. Killed him easily since we had a full group doing quests in SV. We had me, 44 warlock, 39 druid, 41 hunter 37 pala and 40 pala... or smth like this lol :) i've recieved smth about 4,5k of xp, but i don't remember actually... maybe smth around 4k

If you fought him and he got his panthers, and then you died. They will still be there when you rez, and worse yet, he'll call even more when he gets that low on HP. A group of 3 is just right to get the job done.

Level 42 hunter... Level 42 pet.

Pet tanked KB.
Adds appeared, watched pet's health, and when he was in trouble, I aggroed adds.
I had full health so I kept shooting KB while adds attacked me.
Pet went after KB again, KB finally killed pet, and I meleed KB to death, looted head, and aspect of the cheatah away.

Well I found out that the other 3 quests need to be completed first (tigers, raptors, and panthers, OH MY!)

Just did this as a 44 rogue (combat spec). Popped a Greater Agi and Lesser Stoneshield just before the fight. Opened with an ambush and just burned him down. When the adds came at 50% health, activated Blade Fluffy, Adrenaline and Evasion and kept focussing on Bang, the adds dropped pretty easy (before adrenaline wore off) so don't switch focus and lose your combo points. Only lost about 400 health.

5,350 xp. Got the bow which d/e'd to a Lesser Nether Essence.

Even post 2.3 he is lvl43 elite, starts with 2 lvl33 panthers by him, and when low on health he summons 2 more. I also had a near by stealth Panther lvl38 add into the fight half way through.

Easy solo for lvl41 Paladin. I had Righteous Fury up, Sanc blessing, Ret Aura. Judged Wisdom on King and kept Seal of Light up. Hit Conc and Holy shield right on aggro, and popped the panthers a few times each - they fell in seconds. Had a brawl with King and popped a healing pot at ~30% health, somewhere in there the panther added in, I ignored him, when King as low he summoned the two other panthers again, I just kept hitting him and Bubble+Healed at ~200 hp left, after bubble I hit Holy Shield again and it finished off the lvl38 one, I killed him with ~30% health left, and popped the panthers once each to finish them off.

I soloed this at lvl 43 with my Druid.

It isn't easy to solo, but it's doable.

First I cleared the area of all other tigresses. Then I used Entangling Roots, Moonfire, and Insect Swarm to tick away health while hitting him with Starfire, and when the roots came off I just recasted them.

I also had armor, stamina, agility buffs on from scrolls, and when I ran out of mana, I had the fortune of Innervating myself so it would regen. I had to use a Superior Healing Potion, which saved my ass big time.

Didn't realize that two little tigers/panthers/whatever they are would jump out when he got low on health, but they were only lvl 30s, so I took care of them with Wrath and Moonfire while entangling the King.

After that, it was pretty easy to finish him off with a few blasts of Starfire.

Don't say that you don't believe people solo this quest, because it's possible.
It's really hard, but well worth it.

Did this on my 42 feral druid. Anything seems to be easy to solo with Dire Bear form. Started in Cat form, stunned King Bangalash with Pounce, got a Rake in then used Rip and switched to Dire Bear form, took him down to about 40 percent HP, two level 33 panthers spawned, took them out, used Bash (5 second stun) and ran back, used Entangling Roots and quickly healed myself. Then I went back in and finish the job. Easy :)

Keep him feared as a Lock and the adds never show. Extremely easy solo for a 45 Lock. Could have done it much earlier but didn't get back in the area for a while.

My self and 2 friends of mine killed him 3 times and never got quest complete! After the third time I wread the quest in the questbook and saw that we where killing the wrong cat!

King B was wandering around with 9 (NINE) companions. I took a chance and petitioned a GM, who reset it right away. The quest was then doable. I was a level 45 Hunter and expect that I could have solo'd it, but 2 other players showed up, so we joined forces so no-one would have to wait, and he had a head for each of us.

This is an excellent Hunter quest, the bow is the best I've had at 39. Great XP and even though it's time consuming, you level like crazy in STV

Hm.. I soloed it with 40lvl fire mage. (1,5k hp, 3,2k mp, +60 fire damage)
Accidently I pulled ad also.. (some tiger)
So, how I did it?
Contbusion
Pyroblast
Berserking
Fireblast
Fireball x2 (one crit)
Fireblast (crit)
Just after ads spawned - blast wave (most crits)
Popped Greated Healing potion..
AE to death.
150Hp left
400Mp left.

I was lucky that I got no resists..
It was all a bit lucky.

i cant believe you half to be lvl 43 to get the quest! i was done with the (panther,tiger, and raptor quests) others at lvl38! Hes south of gromgole an easey kill. I killed him twice without the quest.the minoins are anoying though, almost killed me once

Thought I'd share my experiences with Bangalash.

I finished the Tethis and whatever quests alone with my mage and when I got to lvl 42 I got this quest. I've killed Bangalash with many other characters and doubted I would be able to solo him, although mages are an excellent solo-class.

So I went to his location ((37,36) on a hill) and had to clear some other mobs before the area was free.
and well... nuked him down, aoe'd his adds and finished him off. I used a Mana Jade and a Superior Healing potion.

At 44, Affliction lock. Time to pwn,

1st, he had all his little helpers.. A lot of them. I sent in voidy target one of the helpers, used suffering, DOT'd said helper, sacc'd my voidy and ran like ell till I lost hate. I did that untill all his helpers were gone and all the other cats on the hill were sparkly corpses.

Time for the bad boy. I sent in voidy on the King, let him voke twice, then Applify Curse > Syphon Life > Curse of Agony > Curruption > Immolate > then SB'd him. At this point he didn't like me. Re applied DoTs and chained my Drain Lifes. He got me real low so I > Death Coil'd, he came back and called for help. I popped my Healthstone > Howl of Terror > re applied DoTs > Feared a green helper for good messure, had voidy cast Suffering, then Dain Lifed him into death.

w00t! Hurray for hairbrained spur -o - the moment killin' >8D

1: He will be found roaming the top of the small hill at about 38,36.

2: There will be regular stranglethorn tigers/tigresses roaming around the base of the hill and on the upper sides as you approach.

3: On the flat top of the hill (mesa?) will be 2-4 more tigers and 2-5 shadowmaws in stealth mode. Clear these before you move in to take on Bangalash.

4: Any Tiger or Shadowmaw left alive, or that spawns during the fight, will move to assist Bangalash.

5: A little bit into the fight with Bangalash, or when he drops to about 60% health, 2 regular panthers will spawn right next to him and immediately attack whoever his target is.

6: Each time I've fought him he has started out with about 3K HP, so he's doable but can take quite a few hits and DOTs before he finally goes down.

I semi-soloed this as a 42 rogue, by logging on my 70 to get rid of the initial adds first. :) I just mention that to point out that you can get rid of his guardians and run/log/whatever, they will not respawn.

Bangalash is a surly fellow and easily mopped the floor with myself, a level 40 druid, and my level 41 druid companion. The thing to remember with him is to scope out the area prior to attacking and killing all the Stranglethorn Tigress and Shadowmaw Panthers present before engaging Bangalash. If there are any in the immediate vicinity, they will engage you immediately after you attack Bangalash.

This coupled with the two junior achiever panthers he summons at about half health and it forms the recipe for an equipment repair bill.

Coords of 37, 36 are correct.

Solo'd as a lvl 43 hunter. Not the easiest thing, but worked ok.

EDIT: I am spec'd BM. Might explain why the lvl 46 hunter had such a hard time and I was able to knock it out first try.

I found the guy by accident at 41 and was able to kill him fairly easy plus adds, only mending pet once. I did it as a quest at 43 and was simple. I had 5-6 adds and if I drew aggro I just feigned and continued, again with only mending pet once. It's not that bad.

Coords are correct, 37,36.

Soloed with a 42 Demo Lock.
Started out with steady dps, just dots.
Pushed out heavy dps when my void got proper agro, around 1k on omen.
When I finally drew agro, I Death Coiled and then fear kited.
Never summoned adds due to the constant fear. Good game.

Is it possible to tame KB as a pet? I'm a lvl 50 Hunter, thought I would give it a whirl, but a lvl 70 showed up to help a lvl 30 do the quest so left it.

What nobody has mentioned in regards to this quest, is this...

The good King B spawns guardians as you are killing him as well as (not totally sure if it's all the time, but it happened to me twice) summoning tigers and other panthers from the area to help him out. As a 42 hunter, I got him down to about 25%, but the five adds caused me to fail. I lost my pet and had to FD with 200 hp's left.

Maybe I just suck or am not going about it the right way *shrug*

I did this today. No coordinates, so you beaners can whinge away. (prepares /ignore)

My group was about level 37 with myself, a level 33 Hunter, being the lowest of the bunch. But I was able to log it. I had done the rest of them with some help from charas about that level, and Sin'dall solo (easy one, actually); so we hit Tethis and Bhag'thera and picked up Sin'dall for the party member who lacked it.

Three of us went at him: a level 37 Paladin, a level 37 Rogue, and me with my level 32 pet. I did manage to make a good contribution to the fight when I put a Freeze Trap on the cats who charged in-- that gave the others time to kill Bang, then whack the others without distraction. The only deaths we suffered were in going from boss to boss.

The bow is extremely nice for a level 33 Hunter (I use bows because of my persona, and yes I know Blizz likes guns more than bows, but I'm dealing with it and so should you). Got some mid-level enchantments on the other rewards, so we're all set till about level 37!

Well, I'm a 45 NE Shadowpriest and I soloed KB.

The Specific Steps that I took.

First I cleared an area so that I could pull KB. I started off with Power Word Shield, Mind Blast, Shadow Word Pain, Mind Flay, Starshards(NE Race Specific).
Psychic Scream, Mind Flay. (Power Word Shield When it's up) Shadow Word Pain. When his adds come. I kept using my wand until Psychic Scream was off cd. Hit that bandage. Power Word Shield. Mind Blast Mind Flay and he died. I ran off the side to get away then came back to loot.

King B is a very hard mob. Not only does he have 2-3 Guardian Panthers that respawn in the middle of battle with him but also the bad luck of another Tigeress or Panther appearing in the area and agroing on you is quite frequent.

First attempt was with group of 4, Lvl 35-40 toons. We had our butts handed to us due to bad luck spawn and agro. He was lvl 43 elite at that time.

This is a great quest and great item. Just be extra careful and be ready for a hard fight.

The wife and I took a while to kill this bugger. Mostly because it seems that every hunter just *has* to tame this guy when they reach lvl 43.

When he spawns, he spawns alone, and if you attack him fast enough, he won't have any adds initially. He will spawn to lvl 33 non-elite panthers when he reaches 50% health, but they are puff-cakes.

Soloed today as a lvl 44 Orc Rogue..

-I cleared the area first..
-Rested and self buffed with some lvl 5 scrolls..
-...cheapshot + S&D + sinister + evasion etc...
-1 healing pot and 1 healing touch from Gauntlets of the Sea.. (didnt use blind + bandage..)
-Killed Bangalash 19% Hp Left..
-Vanish
-End

Yeah, he's tameable. Real question is, will it be worth it.

Had him for awhile on a Tauren hunter until I got to Winterspring. He loses that "something" you want him for in the first place when he looks like the mobs you are trying to kill and is lower level than them o.0

KB's skin matches the regular Frostsabers in Winterspring. They are 56-57. So, it becomes a question do you want to train up a cat from 43 when you are already 50 as of your post. Or wait and grab the "same" cat in Winterspring when you are 56.

IIRC, his respawn time isn't that long. If you like early white tigers (KB is a 43 elite), you should try for him. Otherwise, pick one up in Winterspring later. In Winterspring, you'll get more than just the one skin to choose from . . . at least 4.

Imo, Rak'Shiri, a 57, might be the better choice if you want that "uniqueness" factor in a white tiger.

At lvl 45, I had no trouble soloing King Bangladesh. I set my Immolation Trap and pulled him to me with Serpent Sting as well as Concussion shot with a few Arcane in there. Once he got to me, I hit ScatterShot then I let pet take over and I backed off. I used my Rapid Shot and reapplied Serpent Sting for the last little bit.

I did not let the adds distract me. I stayed on King Bang. and when He was dead, I feigned death and waited for the area to clear. I looted my trophy (head) and off I went.

King Bangalash is also a fun mob to have as a pet. Was in Ashenvale the other day as a 32 rogue, and a 47 troll rogue tried to kill me. Well, a hunter on his mount comes riding in, sics a level 55 King Bangalash on the troll. The troll went down before he managed to kill me, and the hunter barely fired a shot. Very classic.

King B spawns just south of the grom'gol base camp..if you head south eastish to the ogres compound head across the river till you see the lone troll in his lil hut,he is the master tribal leatehr worker trainer,and there is a small hill above his shack thats where kind b spawns ..up on the hill behind him

Well I cannot wait to do this tonight on my newly made Draenei Hunter twink. I'm 3 bars away from lv 28, with no rest xp. That should be enough to get the gun for my twink and a couple of RFK runs for the bow (hoping...). With some left over to lvl a newly tamed pet, armored black boar. And am off for some insane BGs. I chose the Bandolier of the Nightwatch (ammo pouch) from the Nightwatch quest in Darkshire since I'll be using this rifle more often than a bow, it's a great pouch for pre-lv 30.

I just killed him as a lvl 41 Warlock. He was 43 elite.

First I attacked and killed the 2 panthers guarding him, then ran away as I was below half health. Bandaged and came right back and had Bangalash 1v1 (well, I had my succumbus ;-) )

He did not resist any of my DOT's or the 3 fears I put on him. When he dropped I was at 90% health.

I tried this tonight with a lvl 42 hunter. The location is right, but minion count is wrong. There are 5 lvl 38 shadowpaw minions that come along with Bangalash. They are tightly glued and attempts to pull them bring the whole mob. I was close to killing Bangalash, but couldn't overcome the five minions. I'm going to try this again and find a way to get this done. <<.>>

I just did this tonight. It was a lot of fun, especially after the rather repetitive hunting quests that preceded it. The fight with King Bangalash was a lot longer than the fights I'm used to, and it felt good to complete.

He's very easy to find - immediately west of the road atop his own hill.

I (lvl 37 balance druid) went in with a lvl 42 priest. Unless you're several levels higher or have a lot of help, casting a heal-over-time spell right before he is pulled is a good idea. Being higher level, the priest tanked King Bangalash while I hit him intially with some damage-over-time spells (moonfire, insect swarm, entangling roots) then concentrated on healing the priest and pulling his adds away.

When Bangalash gets low on health, he will summon two level 33 panthers. It's worth noting that if you fight him to the point where he summons them and you lose, they will still be there upon your return - yet if he reaches low health again, he will summon two more. Found out the hard way! So if he's got some panthers with him initially, or you fight him once and lose after the panthers show up, it may be worth a kamikaze run to return and clear the panthers. If he mauls you before you can run, no problem - he'll be much easier to kill without the extra panthers. Hibernating him or his adds is an option as well.

Obviously this is what happened to me. In the successful attempt, we decided to take him on with one panther still by his side. Bangalash summoned two more, but I was able to keep the panthers off the tank, killing one, and managed to deal the final blow to him. Once he was dead, we finished off the remaining two panthers, but they hardly mattered at that point.

Make sure you clear the hill first. There will be two level 37-38 Stranglethorn Tigresses around the top of the hill. They are easy to accidentally pull during the big fight, and you definitely don't need the extra damage.

I'm a level 41 Hunter in Classic - I just did all the Raptor Mastery quests, but can't get the Big Game Hunter quest for some reason. Did all those previous quests to get Master's Hunter Bow, but the damn dwarf just won't interact?
Why is that?
Also, Hemet doesn't look like this picture in my game. Kinda the same only with gray hair instead. Why is Hemet's hair black from this link:

Incapacitating or stunning King Bangalash at the moment he goes below 50% health seems to prevent him from spawning the pesky guardians.

Calls for aid any tigers in the area, so before starting this, it may be best to clear out all the tigers on the hill first.

Also summons two 33 panthers at low health, making this quite difficult even at higher levels. Attempted this with a 46 priest, and although it was close, no luck so far.

Soloed as a level 42 Ret paladin. Judged Crusader on him and just whacked away with Command. If you stun him before he hits 50% and then damage him below 50%, he won't spawn adds.

Stun / bubble and heal as necessary.

This is a tough one, but hubby & I managed to complete it with two Level 39 feral druids. Hubby bear tanked and I stayed feral DPS, healing him when necessary. First, CLEARED THE AREA of all tigers. But he will call out for aid and when two panthers spawned to assist him, we just stayed on Bangalash. Hubby died when Banga's health was super low, but I managed to finish him off and run and lose the two panthers. Rez'd hubby and we were both able to loot his head for completion of the quest.

Soloed as 46 Elemental Shaman, thanks in great part to the fact that I caught Banglash as a fresh respawn in a cleared area. It was still a near run thing, leaning on quick heals while fire totems and lightning shield did most of the work.

Lvl 41 Hunter: As you can guess I wanted the weapon. I could solo every elite before this quest, but this one is too dangerous for HC. He calls to every cat in his area to help him and also spawns 2 adds regardless. I read you can stun this, so it doesnt happen, but obviously that needs knowledge about the timing. Im pretty sure this can be soloed, e.g. through kiting, but one resist or one fail and thats it. I abondend ship after I got him down to 40% and his 2 friends spawned.

After this I searched for a grp and did it with a lvl 39 priest. We added 3 mobs during the fight + 2 spawns, so overall more than 11k Dmg had to be dealt. Let your pet attack the spawns or adds, so the priest doesnt get aggro and obviously the priest had to heal the pet, so you didnt have to. :D Took almost 2 mins, but wasnt that tough, just dont aggro and switch targets with pet and kill them.

Its probably fun to solo this and invent some tactics like after serpent ran out, fear him (works on beasts), set pet to passive and heal it up to full hp and go on, but wouldnt try in HC. Get at least a grp of 2. ^^

Druid bear, lvl 42. Buffed with greater agility, ogres strength, mighty trolls and fortitude elixirs, and the normal druid buffs. A trick that works well for druids is to Hibernate King Bangalash just before he reaches 50% health where he is going to spawn his two adds. When you succesfully have hibernated him you are free to heal yourself up to full. After that you can go back to Bear Form and easily take him all the way down to zero and handle his two adds that he spawns when he drops below 50% hp. Voila ;)
