ok when u get the shard from the murlock u have to talk to sputtervale hes right next to the fligt master in that tent after that he tells u to go to a tauren,shes on top of the WC mountains go up there and talk to her next u have to go to thunderbluff to get another quest also note this is for the horde side

I got 3300 xp as a lvl 33 bloodelf pala, and the quest ends on the top of the hill where WC is

Sputtervalve will tell you to talk to a new fella..
Hes at the summit of the mountain at WC..
In a little hut.. Talk to that fella and travel to elder rise in thunderbluff..

just run through WC killing the 4 druid bosses, then go to the tauren at the start to trigger the event. Kill mutanus, loot the shard and go to ratchet, talk to sputtervalve ( he's near the flight master ) then go back to WC but go beyond the entrance a little to find a path to the top of the hill to the tauren up there. then you get another quest to hand in

Horde - go to TB
Alliance - go to Darn

You need to talk to Sputtervalve to complete the quest. He's next to the flight master in Ratchet by the little tent structure.

I was able to talk to Sputtervalve and do the turn in at the top of the summit at level 15, 3150exp gained (around 20% at 15) did ding me 16. Final turn in at TB was 2000exp, nice last legacy of a friend helping me get my full set of the Fangs. Yes, yes! Killed Serpentis once, Pythas once, Cobrahn twice, Anacondra thrice. Off to level to wear it :D

I used to hae a lvl 25 troll hunter, and when i finished WC, I got the gem to begin this quest..

It would appear that if you are too low, you won't get the follow on after the person on top of the WC mountain. Sucks too, those would be nice boots for a 15 druid!

After you speak to Sputtervalve in Ratchet you are to seek out Falla Sagewind found at 48.32 ~ atop of the mountain above WC. She then sends you to TB to speak to Hamuul Runetotem on Elder Rise to finish the chain.

The golbin you need to talk to is the one with the tinkers union. He is near the dock area.

I just got the quest from the jewel and the quest tracker says level 26. Using Uber Quest (reborn 1.11.5)

Got 270xp as a 55 Warrior. More than I expected.

Started out at just into level 19, I had a help of 32 pally in WC and got the glowing shard. The total xp from the entire quest was 5150 (plus about 15,000 xp earned killing in WC) and got me to 20.

level 30+ player could easily handle the mobs that drops the shard so if you want fast leveling or just easy xp, get some help! ;)

After talking to the goblin in Ratchet, he tells you to take the gem to the druid lady above the Wailing Caverns. I thought he was refering to the lady in the small cave right above the caverns, but the lady is actually on TOP of the mountain.

Took me a lot of frustration to figure this out, so wanted to share and hopefully help others that might have this confusion ;)

When you have killed all of the named night elf Fanglords, Disciple of Naralex will shout:

"At last! Naralex can be awakened! Come aid me, brave adventurers!"

Then you will know you are ready to do the escort of the Disciple of Naralex and get to The Glowing Shard quest.

When I did it, I killed Lord Serpentis last, then killed Verdan the Everliving, and dropped down the long vertical tunnel behind him, into the pool.

From the pool, you take a right and you are in the cavern stream not far from the zone in. When you get back to the Disciple of Naralex, he will now have a talk bubble when you talk to him:

"Let the event begin!"

It isn't a quest to accept, and just one person needs to click it to start it for everyone. It isn't a bad idea to have everything cleared out between the zone in and the sleeping Naralex.

Unlike other leading quests, The Disiple of Naralex is not a complete idiot with 6.5 hit-points, he is actually strong, and puts mobs to sleep.

When you get to the sleeping Naralex, the Disiple will try to wake him, in which you have to fight a wave of 3 serpents, then 7 slimes, then the WORLDS LARGEST MURLOC, lol. The murloc, Mutanus, will drop the gem that starts the quest.

Enjoy! I had a lot of fun doing this quest.

Ive been on WC for 3 days and still havent find the shard.

It's not indicated at all on the mini map, but you want to talk to Sputtervalve, next to the Ratchet Flight Master. He'll send you on the next leg of the quest to talk to one of the druids in the eye socket of the skull rock that makes the entrance to the cave the Wailing Caverns portal is in.

THIS one is the ALLYSIDE quest, and the tauren on the top of the mountain sends us to DARNASSUS.

If anyone can put that little lionhead symbol on THIS quest, that'd be lovely, because I'm tired of having Hordeside chatting all about their quest on this one, when they got their own version of this quest to go comment on. It's very confusing for Allyside players. (We like you, but you get your own page. Go have fun there!)

The shard is a brilliant green, and although solid, what looks like smoke swirls just below the surface. You can't help staring into the depths of the crystal; at the same time, you know there is something very disturbing about it.

Maybe you should see if anyone in Ratchet can tell you more about this strange shard.
