The spawn rate here is high, so you'll need to fight your way down even if you cleared the path on the way up. Additional mobs spawn when she reaches each plateau, but you can start pulling the respawned Grimtotems while still on the bridges to avoid fighting them all at once.

Lakota disappears once you get to the bottom of Darkcloud; cash in the quest in Freewind Post to get the reward.

Her respawn rate is slow: I got there right at someone else started and there was enough time for 3 repops before she came back. She stands just outside the hut near Arnak in case you get there and are waiting for her to return.

Soloed as a 27 Druid. Died 3 times trying to do it. I reccomend staying near his bridge and try pulling them one at a time.

Pre-pulling to clear the bluffs ahead of her arrival is key to making this escort quest work. Without it you can easily be facing five or six mobs at once.

Fortunately, she is one of the more intelligent escorts and will actually come running up from where she was plodding behind you and assist with these clearing attempts and then run back to where she was before. This makes it a lot easier. Still, because of the demands of clearing and then the scheduled spawned ambushes, mana users are highly recommended to have a couple of mana pots on hand to speed recovery.

One other thing to watch for is the rare patrol mob that can come up from behind you and attack her, especially if you are distracted with clearing ahead of her. I've only had this happen once, but it was enough to teach me to check behind me before I go and start clearing ahead.

i hate this quest! faild 2 times because of mass pull and then 2nd time i ran too far away from her so i failed it :(

Weird thing happened to me. A paladin and I were doing this quest when the NPC disappeared. I charged into combat (warrior), and the NPC ran up to help attack the mob... then she disappeared. We weren't too far away (the length of a warrior charge, and she ran up to me after I did it), so it wasn't because of that. We didn't (and still haven't as of about 15 minutes later) fail the quest, but obviously couldn't complete it. Not a disaster, as I could just abandon and re-accept when the NPC respawns, but it sucked a little. Just giving everyone a head's up. First time that's ever happened to me on an escort quest.

Warrior 29 couldn't do it. You think you're doing fine, but the game spawns extra stuff to fight you WHILE you're fighting the stuff that's already there. I'm talking fighting four things at once on each platform thing, then it spawns an extra three. Good luck.

This quest overspawns AND I had the escort disappear before finishing. I made she wasn't getting attacked. She just vanishes!

I had no problems with this quest as a level 30 warrior. Just run ahead of her and clear the areas between the bridges before she gets to them.

solo'ed with 29 rogue. Almost got ganked when at worst I was beaten at by 6 guys (1 sap'ed), but evasion, potion and vanish saved me!

didn't run ahead to clear, but that seems as a good tip

This quest is showing COMPLETED but has "FAILED" next to its name in the quest description
I completed it in a group of 2, but got it by share rather than directly.
Pretty sure its a bug . . . "Thalia Amberhide" in freewind Post won't talk or display the yellow or silver question mark.
Any chance of a fix? since It was hard to get there, I dont really want to repeat it.

I soloed this quest at level 28 as a shadow-specced priest. She is buffable and healable, which made it like a two-man party.

I read some of the posts saying the quest was bugged but its not. You have to escort Lakota out of the Village and then she will disappear. From there, return to Freewind Post and speak with Thalia Amberhide who is inside of the Inn. Everything worked fine for me. Lvl 25 mage.

If there are mobs on the islands then pull em 1 and 1 out on the bridge and she will kill em. do untill cleaned then kill the one that spawns

This quest is much easier with a two-man group, though it can be done solo.

As a lvl 31 deep fire-spec mage, I wiped three times before I got the timing of killing mobs right. If you rely on mana in any way, make sure you take every opportunity to keep it up. Also, make sure you have healing potions on hand.

I solo'ed this as a L31 Rogue. Perhaps I was lucky but it wasn't so bad. Once or twice I was really low on health, but managed to stay alive.

One tip, try to fight the one she is fighting.

Lvl 29 Druid and I handled it pretty easily. I stayed in bear form the whole time except for the one heal I needed.

This quest is bugged! I was soloing as a level 30 Paladin and she just vanished in the middle of the quest. Didn't get message that quest either was completed or failed, she just disappeared BEFORE the end.

Same thing just happened to me. Was trying to solo the quest as a lvl 32 paladin and the NPC just vanished about 2/3 of the way through.

Soloed as a 29 Paladin. It was pretty tough, used one health put and a shield. She has SOOO much armor, she soloed two. Only attack what is attacking you.

The quest is NOT bugged. When she disappears, you have to go back to the top of Freewind Post and speak to Thalia Amberhide inside the tent. She will then give you the ability to choose your reward.

I just did it solo with my lvl 26 Hunter. but also it's quite easy when u have a Pet with u. u can take like 4 at a time so i can see it's harder if u are ex. a Warrior/Rogue.

This quest was is just plain boring. She walks REALLY slow and if you fail it for any reason it's a pain to go back and start it again, also considering that you have to fight all your way back to her. I failed it first time because got too far from her while regenerating mana (im mage) and second time because i simply got killed (too many aggros). Definitely not a solo quest if <lv 30

Solo'd as 29 Hunter. Ran out of ammo just after starting. She is a tank, did better than my pet. no bug, went all the way to the end, said the finishing text, and completed it in the log.

This quest is easy!
I soloed on my 26 rogue.
Just stealth, sap 1 of thm thn respawns come and u just do ambush and im a 19 twink rogue going to 39, so i did crits around 400 almsot all time. so they died easy by ambush.
after that u nuke rest of thm. its easy :)

This is a very bugged quest. Walking down the ramp towards the end, she just stopped for two to three minutes after killing the last mob. She then disappeared and reappeared quite a way back along the route and stopped again for about the same amount of time. She did continue after and I finished the quest eventually - I was getting very stressed out as I'd waited 10 minutes for her to respawn and the escort is quite a long one!

Some of the mobs bug and go underground, I saw one do it and it bugged her up, just made her dissapear. But then I re-tried the Quest and she was alright. Just watch out about agroing lots of mobs aswell which will bug her sometimes.. like when shes saying that message that spawns some dont agro any then.

I just did this quest, solo 32 Shammy. I'm not going to say it was easy, I did die once before I realized that she causes respawns, but fortunitly I can self rez. The hardest part was waiting for her, she moves soooooo slow. Also, watch out for the 27 elite at the end, if I wasnt such a higher level, he would have pawned me.

This is not as hard as it seems. I usually skip ALL the Escort quests, but this NPC packs an insane punch. We walked into 6 enemies, killed 1 and I decided to run as I saw no chance of survival. I watched the battle afar from a bridge and this lady was able to last approx. 40 seconds against 5 enemies on her own. Considering she is Tauren, maybe I should have known, lol

Helped a friend today with this escort and it was really simple as a 30 warlock and 33 hunter. Only thing is, at the last pinnacle she stopped walking after we killed the last mob and she disappeared after about a minute and the quest failed...

We stood next to her the hold time so we weren't too far away.

Picked up this quest while I was working on "Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem" (which is picked up in Freewind Post on a flyer) so it was nice since I had to be on the pinnacles anyway. Since most of the mobs were around lvl 25-28 my hunter and I had no problems. However, take note that 2-3 mobs appear in the center of each of the pinnacles as soon as Lakota Windsong stops. The ramp entrance is located just south west of the only water you see in Thousand Needles or at 31:37 if you have coords. Overall this quest was fairly easy and I had no problems.

Solo'ed this as level 28 troll shaman, the majority of the enemies are level 25-26, and Lakota can hold her own pretty well.

Quite an annoying quest really. Managed to just solo this at level 30 (priest).

The people on the hills respawn quickly anyway, plus the added mobs that spawn out of no where. She can take 1 mob on her own. I used fear alot.

If your caster your going to need mana potions and judge time wisely. Wouldn't try this if your below 2 really.

This quest is pretty darn easy. Did it solo as a 28lvl druid. She really can hold her own prety well. I didn't even need to heal her at all! I also cast mark of the wild on her to up her armor.

I just finished this, and at the bottom of the ramp she thanked me and then disappeared. The quest shows completed but how do I get either of the two rewards she offered?

I solo'd it as a 29 BE Shadow Priest easily. About 3 groups of 2 mobs came out, but they were easy to take care of. It took about 10-15 minutes, but it was good, and easy experience.

This escort can be a pain depending on respawns. Definitely best to do in a group if at all possible. If you must do it solo, it's best to let her lead and pull agro on the non-spawning mobs. As with most "helpful" escort npc's the AI doesn't always pick up that you're in a fight that you initiated and they'll just keep walking.In this case this will lead to her reaching each of the points where the escort attacker mobs spawn, causing you to have an extra 2-3 mobs on top of whatever you were dealing with before.

Stay very close to this one. If you get away too far it will fail. Seems to have less range than other escorte quests.

A few tips for this one

Do this quest at the same time as Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem. Since Arnak Grimtotem is very close to where you will first start this quest.

You get this quest from the NPC Lakota Windsong
She is found at coordinates 28, 26. To get to that point, come down the great lift. Go straight ahead until you see a totem on your left at approx 31,37. This marks a parth that goes to the top of the grimtotem pinacles. Follow the path along the top and when you get to a pinacle with more than one path, take the left one. This will bring you to a clearing on the northern cliff face where you will find both Lakota Windsong for this quest, as well as Arnak Grimtotem for the Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem quest.

The enemies along the escort path respawn pretty quick so there's not much benefit to clearing them ahead of time except for the ones closest to where you start. Lakota Windsong, however, has a slow respawn time. So if someone just just done the quest, espect to wait 10 minutes or so for her to respawn.

Her escort will take take the path all the way back to that totem at ground level. This leads you through 3 platforms with enemies. More enemies spawn each time she gets to the middle of a platform. So each time you get to a platform, pull 1 or 2 of the mobs back off the platform. She will help you fight them. Take care of all of them 1 or 2 at a time like that before actually moving on to the platform. Then you won't have to deal with them at the same time as the ones that spawn.

You can buff and heal the NPC while you are escorting her.

This escort quest takes about 10 minutes to complete. As others mentionned, the respawn rate is pretty high for the Grimtotem, so after you start the quest, be sure to kill those on the plateau while she's still walking on the bridge. She spawns 2 adds every time she reaches a plateau, so killing the few that are already there will help a lot so that you won't have to deal with 5-6 mobs at the same time. Just make sure you don't go too far away from her so that you don't fail the quest. Was a easy solo on a 31 hunter, only had to drink once, but other classes/lower levels might need some extra potions/bandages/food/water.
