Aggonar's corpse is located at 'Pools of Aggonar (39, 30)' in Hellfire Peninsula,

To use the vial you need to be stood very close to this corpse but with your feet still in the water.

When you use the Water you will summon a level 63 Mob. Kill him and the quest is complete

North-west part of the Pools of Aggonar is a giant demonic skeleton. You can even see the skeleton on your mini-map. At the foot of the ribcage, while standing near poisoned waters, use your cleansing vial and Aggonar will appear. Defeat him and return to the Temple of Telhamat.

I was standing at the front of his rib cage and on land when I did it.

If there is a level 63 mob there when you spawn, the quest is bugged. Don't frustrate yourself. You should be able to solo it. The above coordinates are correct. You have to stand very close to the large skeleton.

Just go straight in the Pools of Aggonar and you'll see this huge statue of some sort. If you need more of a description of this thing, it has a green glow at the top, one of the statue's hands is holding a polearm.

40,30 there is a burned spot on the ground just at the end of the hammer hilt, stand there, right click the vial and move back! mob spawns there and you have to kill it. I'd clear the surrounding mobs first though

40.30 is the only spot that would work for me - once you get him to spawn the mob is very easy

Let me sum this up for you in a very easy way step by step.

1. fight your way to 39, 30.
2. use the potions on a small island/pininciola infront of a huge skeloton.
3. Once the item is used u spawn a 63, the NPC is almost like a pally, with a claymore, but uses warlock spells, and cannot heal.
4. kill the 63 spawn and go home a hero.

This quest is a piece of cake for a 63 hunter and the 39,30 coordinates are spot on. Just watch this guy, because he does fear you and the other mobs in the area could get involved...I'm not sure if you can loot him or not, but his corpse disappears almost instantly

I tried to do this quest, but it seems to be bugged. 26. April 2007. I don´t get the cleansing water provided at the quest giver. If I need to get it somewhere else please let me know.

This quest is buggy. I was able to complete it using the listed instructions eventually. However, The first couple dozen times I used the vial it did not recognize that the bones were there. I moved around and tried in several areas. I gave up after a little over an hour last night. I tried again this morning and was able to complete it. If it doesn't work, skip it and come back later.

Side note: The respawn rate on the slime and demon mobs was insane, as in I could not mana up and loot before they were back and they were attacking 5-7 at a time. One would pull and everything in the area would follow, even out of range. The respawn rate died down some and that is when I was able to complete the quest. I am not sure that one has to do with the other but buggy quest with unusual respawn rate in the immediate area seems worth noting.

If there were any bugs, they are gone now, i stealthed my way through to 40.30, clicked on the water, he spwaned, level 63, killed him, quest complete. Done as level 60 feral druid.

Quest did not work for me, kept saying missing the bones of Aggonar. Cleanded the area got ganked twice and gave up... for now.

Soloed as arms warrior level 61, easy, stand at 40.2, 30.6 just at the spine and you'll get him spawn, he dies easy and doesnt fear.

Just run up to him directly from the front. There's a small discolored circular spot (the "burned spot"), and some small very hard to see bones sticking out of the ground. This is where you use the vial. (for me there was also some Felweed right in front of this spot)

FYI, as a 60 lock soloing it, he feared me but my Felguard kept hacking away, not a hard battle.

Kill the surrounding mobs first, he'll fear you and you'll pull all the mobs.
(found out that if you have the mechanical yeti from winterspring, he fears it instead of you or in my case me or my pet.), he is no hard match idd.

Soloed this as a level 61 Rogue. Used Deadly Poison and Crippling Poison. Happily this guy's ability to **see through stealth** was an aid here - when some Blistering Rots became adds, i could Vanish to drop them but still keep my fight with the main mob active.

This quest has totally changed. Upon using the water it spawns Aggonis and you must kill him. After he dies you complete the quest. He's a level 63 non elite.

Just a couple of quick points which might be helpful:

1. When you're in the right position and right click the vial there's no action bar or anything, the mob just spawns immediately so be on your toes. He spawns on the little bit of land right in front of the corpse and I was standing right next to him so was bit of a shock!

2. He has the ability to make you flee. So I'd suggest clearing all surrounding mobs before summoning him. I'd done the bare minimum and I'm amazed I wasn't walked straight into a couple of bubbling oozes or whatever they're called (and considering the oozes have a couple of little friends with each of them you could find yourself in abit of trouble if this happens).

Other than that the mob itself is relatively simple: lvl 63, oversized felguard. Didn't have much trouble as a lvl 62 nelf druid.

As of 2.4.1 this quests seems to award 250 Exodar rep as opposed to 63 Alliance rep currently displayed on this page. Handy for us non-Draenei types - or anyone who happens to love the Exodar :-)

I got it to work at 40,30 like said below, by the rock right under the skeleton's spine. Aggonar isn't elite, but he was lvl 63. My largest problem were the demons and sludge that happened to respawn around me while fighting him. A little fear and banish and I was alright.

Ok..after an hour of searching for bones in the northern part of the pool, I am told it's the big statue/idol. I'm not sure where exactly is the spot that makes it work, but I kept clicking along the front, and finally it worked. That spawned a lvl 63 that I had no problems killing.

Most helpful to know to expect a lvl 63 mob when you use the vial. I just went to the water and clicked the vial <shrug>. Definitely a good idea to kill all mobs in the surrounding area and make sure if you are a caster to have FM and a potion just in case. :)

This is where you stand. Click the cleansing water and the Demon spawns very closeby.

This is very accurate. As a 61 warlock I burned him down second try in a few seconds as the OPguard tanked him. Prior to that he managed to fear me into pack of three slimes causing a wipe. Melee toons might want to clear mobs around him to be safe.

An extremely poorly designed quest. Going by the quest log, the activation of this quest really shouldn't be in some stupidly obscure location. It should be anywhere near water, next to the bones. Which is a very, VERY large area. Retarded people are likely to give up on this quest imo, and who could blame them?

The bones that appear are actually that giant interesting looking thing at the end of the water. If you zoom out, and look at it, it's a giant corpse. Just sit in front of it. 63 demon spawned for me.

Did this a little while ago as a 62 afflic lock. Naturally, I had the void out as my minitank. I found that the safest way to get to the location is to go along the right side of the pools. Minimal oozes, and only a slight annoyance of the demon dudes. Actually went around the back of the bones to the front, trying to figure out where the coords were. I finally was able to use the item in a weird little alcove under I think what looked like a hand on the western side, and he actually spawned behind me while I was facing the other way. Lucky me, I turned around just in time for him to rush at me.

My only suggestion is to have full mana and health for this.

My particular way of doing this? Siphon Life, Unstable Affliction, Amplify Curse, Curse of Agony, Immolate (yes, I still use it), Corruption, Shadow Bolt, Death Coil, Drain Life, get feared into a couple of the terror-whatsits, run back, howl of terror on everything else (ooze add at this point). Sacced the void, the thing died due to dot damage, and ran like there was no tomorrow. Somehow managed to find myself a safe spot to die, and then Soulstoned, resummoned void (Abyss Shard cooldown was up, another stroke of luck), ran again, sacced void again, and again somehow managed to get out of combat zone to regen health/mana, using another howl of terror on my way out. Summoned mount and went on my merry way.

Fel Armor may be a good thing to have, +spl dmg/heal ftw.

There were no bones when I did this quest but it works at that location even without the bones. It summons a lvl 63 and he wasn't hard for my lvl 62 paladin.

Soloing a non-elite level 63 is not very special you know.

Anyway, make sure you're close enough to the bones. They're at 40,31 but you need to be closer than the distance I tried at first.

Well I thought I had to use it in the water and tried everywhere around the pools. But as stated its right under the spine bone between the two large hands. The ground looks like it does have a discolored circle on it, so I stood there and clicked. Viola... Aggonar killed me. Oh well will do it when I have baddaboom at my side to help.

there is a relatively tiny skeleton on the dirt in front of the much much much larger rotting bones of Aggonar. One might mistake the bones for a PvP kill. Stand directly on top of them and use the quest item.

I was a level 60 Subeltey Rogue with decent gear (mostly quest rewards from previous quests in Hellfire), easily solo'd. I didn't drop below 35% hp.

I Soloed it as a lvl 61 affliction lock, put my void on him hit him with CoA, corruption, Siphon Life and Unstable Affliction, life tapped once and then cast Drain Life on him, my Shadow Trance then kicked in and I hit him with a shadow Bolt, about that time he cast fear on my void, fortunately i'd cleared the area pretty good so my void didn't pick up any adds. With my void feared he started to come after me so I hit him with Deathcoil and then a couple Drain Lifes finished him.

I had a dude abuse me today for ninjaing the spawn he'd been waiting half an hour on (I kid you not). Some people apparently don't know that reading the quest is helpful from time to time.

Level 60 Druid, co-ords and instructions are correct - clear the area first - I struggled because the respawns are fairly quick and lots of slime around. Apprantly I fear really easily and that screwed me up twice - to date still haven't been able to do it - lost patience with dying all the time and having to pay through my ass for armour repairs while trying to save for an epic.

Will return when higher level.

Coords are good. My only error was reading just enough posts in order to get them! I wasn't expecting the fight that's mentioned many times beginning a few posts later. :)

61 Prot Pally. Dev Aura, BoM, Seal of Light judged and resealed. No prob, even though I started with three quarter health and half mana. Judging from other posts, my guess is that he's been nerfed with 2.3

No fearing, but I've found in general that casters are more likely to get feared, sheeped, frozen, etc than melee toons. (What can I say... you scare them more than I do :D )

I did get Corruption a lot. Probably because I can Cleanse it which gives him the chance to recast it.

I read all the posts and they are jolly useful, but its a bit more complicated than that.
First of all the location. Yes, its 40,30. Exactly. Here you will see a pile of bones. Stand by them and click the greeny-blue bottle you get with the quest. After a second or so there's a kind of yellowy-red flash and a mean looking dude stands before you in the place of the bones. You can't start bashing immediately cos the game tells you that Aggonar is an invalid target. Then, when you are off balance he starts bashing you!
Don't get me wrong, he's not that tough (I'm a level 61 NE Hunter) but still, worthy of respect. The point is that you need room to maneouvre a bit (espcially a hunter) but you are on a little promontory under the huge body
and there's lots of mobs to aggro (especially if he fears you). So...kill everything in the area. Period. Then you can take your time killing him.

I just took down the lvl 63 as a lvl 60 mage, almost died due to a slime aggro during the fight. I also almost ran right into one of those demons due to being feared.

Coords are right on (40.30). Pain in the butt kill (60 lvl fire mage). Died once due to stupidity, came back and killed him with fire, but ended up diying again due to a dot he put on me.

As you are standing in front of the remains of the father, he spawns on the left.

He never tried to fear me...or atleast it felt so with my fear ward buff against fear, But easy as a pie with my lv 60 shadowpriest. After killing him i had 3/4 of my hp left and around half mana...he had huge problem to just hit through my shield so he was no problems...

No problems this morning on Earthen Ring except that I hadn't cleared the area fully at first and he feared me into a mob. Fortunately my pet finished him a moment before the mob finished me. (62 Hunter with bear)

Didn't see any bones, but could use the cleansing vial at the coords 40, 30. Lvl 61 Feral Druid, easy as soon as Argonnis popped up. Hardest part was running around looking for bones that weren't there.

Level 61 hunter here. Took two tries to kill him. First time he feared me four times. I had my tank pet on him but I couldn't do damage since I was running around in fear the whole time. Like another poster I was feared into 3 of the slim groups and feign death failed of course. That ended me quickly.

The second time right after summoning Aggonar I ran northeast to the elbow of the huge corpse. This made the fear runs easier to handle as I would either stay in that area or it would end before I got to the slimes.

Should work for hunters, don't know about others.

The other option is to have a DPS pet, my pet was never feared.

Quest turn in gives 10050 exp, turn into Amaan the Wise at 22, 36 in the Temple of Telhamat
Can choose from 3 rewards, nothing too special.

Quest is broken on Hellscream, apparently. BOO!

EDIT: I retract my original statement. It isn't broken, but apparently if you aggro other mobs, the quest won't complete for some reason. Took me killing him three times for it to finally register.

I soloed this as a 60 hunter. Use the vial at 40.30 and then a 63 mob pops up, you cant attack him right away, he strikes first. Then attack and kill. No problems at all

Perhaps patch 2.3 made this quest easier.

as a 61 rogue equipped with just solo quest gear Aggonis went down in 20 seconds.

No fearing, only 1 corruption, the rest was mild melee.

Pretty tough fight for me at 60, took two times, first time he feared me into a mob and they finished me off, second time I cleared all the mobs in the area before taking him on. I found that the place to get the bones are right when you start walking up the handle of the sword that the skeleton is holding, the turn to your left and he appears. He will fear you so any resistances to fear are good, bring a health pot if you are under 62...good luck!

Don't use the item when there is already one present (e.g. tagged by another person) as it seems like only one can be alive at the same time.

Amaan the Wise wants you to travel to the Pools of Aggonar and use the Cleansing Vial at Aggonar's corpse. Return to him when Aggonar's essence is cleansed from the water.

You will find the demon's bones at the northern end of the pools. Beware, I sense that Aggonar's essence has not quite left this world.
