The questgiver K. Lee Smallfry, is a clear Easter Egg refering to Kaylee Frye from the Cult Sci-Fi show Firefly.

You can get this quest as either a Gnomish or Goblin engineer, or indeed if you've never picked a specialization.

yes there is an engineering prequisite for hte quest. you need to have 305 engineering. i dont think u have to be lvl 60 but i'm goign to go check.

at the steam pump (80.44) are steam pump parts on the ground, you need 15 parts.

the look like GAS clouds they are also located in not only Zang but also in netherstorm and shadowmoon. I have also heard of nagrad but myself have not seen one

The parts are extremely hard to see. Bring a dwarf friend with Find Treasure and you'll be able to get them all in no time.

Unfortunately, the dwarf must also be on the quest (or be you) to be able to track them.

HELP? please.. i have the quest have the level engineering skill and am level 70 but i cant find any parts. can someone please post what they look like?

I have scoured the area and not found a single part... help me.. ...... this seems like one of the benefits of eng and i cant tap into it.

They're in the dead mire... quest objectives seem to sparkle now so there should be no problem finding them.

You can also get the parts from fishing in the lagoon around Coilfang Reservoir. There's pools of Steampump debris. Get all kinds of nice stuff there. I've gotten parts, felsteel bolts, elemental blasting powder, fish, misc grays, and all kinds of scrolls.

Go to the north east as shown on the map. Dont fly around there but run around or use a ground mount. The parts are very small compared to the litter on the ground, but the sparkle. There is a couple different looking parts, but they all sparkle.

Run around and look for sparklies. when i flew and didnt know what i was looking for i couldnt see any, but ground mount finished it in 5 mins.

The steam pump parts are actually scattered around the middle of the Dead Mire. They are gray and dark red, but can also look like gears.

As a Gnome, i have the advantage of being 315 and got this quest as soon as i was able to explore the zone and find the NPC. I can't give anything more to this subject.

Zapthrottle Mote Extractor lets you extract 3 motes of life from bluish gas balls you find throughout the zone. They are not targetable, but hard to miss.

I wasn't offered this quest until I had Engineering 306. My guess is that the pre-requisite for this quest is Engineering 305 (same as the Zapthrottle). Anyone at 305 exactly able to verify this?

Any idea where I pick up this quest? I'm at 320 engineering now and would love to be able to use this to pick up some motes.
I understand it's in Zangarmarsh, but I've been all over the area and would simply like coords or at least a generalized area like CR or Orebor.

horde master engineer is located at the zabra'jin willage in zangarmarsh. take the bridge heading east east out from center hes in the water to the right just outside the fence

Smallfry is in Telredor and just confirmed must have engineering 305. Also, there will not be a yellow ! above her.

it's a level 60 quest, so you wont see the ? @ level 66ish+

ez quest, just head over to the dead mire (upper right corner) and careful not to agro things there

OMG, these are so hard to see! Brown on brown and some of them are tiny! Hey, Blizzard, some of us are visually impaired, ya know... If you're having trouble finding these parts, you're not alone...

If you are a dwarf, activate your Find Treasure racial, and you can see the pump parts on the minimap.

Have you seen the swamp gas? Isn't it just shiny?

It takes a Zapthrottle Mote Extractor to suck 'em dry though. I could give you the plans to make one, but I really need some spare parts to fix stuff 'round here.

Last time I checked, there were plenty of parts laying around near the steam pump at the Dead Mire to the northeast. I think the withered giants broke the pump out there.
