I found a higher drop rate (~50%) among the level 64 Starving Fungal Giants in the Spawning Glen around 11, 62. I hope this helps some folks!

The Bog Giants have an annoying disease that stacks up to five times and then turns into an even nastier magic effect.

However, it counts as a movement impairing effect, so Paladins can remove all stacks in one go with Blessing of Freedom! I guess it works with druids shapeshifting as well.

i did https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9702 at the same time since they are lying around where a lot of these mobs spawn, saved a lot of time.

found that these will drop off any bog lord or bog giant. also found that there seems to be a better drop rate in the Dead Mire and they are lower lvl's and easier to kill... Dead Mire is also a great place to farm for those of you who may need them.... Happy Hunting

i have no idea y but once i got half of them the drop rate just like vanished and i had to kill easily 30 more till i got 1 more i mean i finished 2 primals and got some gear

I as well had only 3 tendrils after approx. 50 kills. Abandoned quest as bugged.

I have plenty of tendrils for this quest left over from doing https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=10355 today. The Withered Bog Lords seem to drop them fairly often and are probably a good place to start. Wowhead calls the drop rate higher on the starving ones, but the withered are less annoying to fight (though that whole area is add-city.

Terrible drop rate, i had to kill atleast 100 of them before the 6th would drop but it was worth it considering i had rested exp, i do think you can buy these on the AH but correct me if im wrong.

15, 60. Drop rate is good. I love all the QQing about walking across the map.

Both kinds of enemies nearby can drop the quest items.

one of the most annoying quest i've done so far. the drop rate is horrible. the number of fungal giants > bog lords is like 5 to 1.

The giant things in the dead mire drops these much more regulary than the ones near the Cenarion outpost and spawning ground.

Theres tons of quests involving the dead mire from Talendar the city on top of some gigantic mushrooms, so you will acquire alot of these there.

I agree with the coords 81,39 if you pick this up at lv 61 doing it in the spawning glen is ridiculous. The mobs are not tough, just so many all together you end up with 3 at a time. Drop rate is bad there.

81,39 easy to kill, and drop 1 of 3.

Natural Enemies and A Question of Gluttony are easy to complete at Quagg Ridge, 28,62. No need to walk across the map.

Between the most horrible droprate in the game and the battle to farm between horde and allaince this took over an hour to do.

I figured it out. You can actually sell these to the Vendor and it does not change the amount you have. For instance i have 2/6 right now with two actually on me. I sold the two to the vendor and my quest still showed 2/6.

10,750xp and +750 rep sporeggar at lvl. 62, and just for the record the drop rate wasn't bad at all for me, 1 in 3 at least, probably more like 1 in 2.

A good idea for while you do this quest is to gather herbs off any bog giant's body after their looted. Just for herbalists of course, but I've never encountered a mob like this before. I got a whole stack of Ragveil, at least 10 Unidentified Plant Parts, a couple Felweed, as well as several Mote of Life, Terocone and Ancient Lichen. Very cool.

You can kill any Bog giant and they will drop tendrils. Drop is very random and can be two in a row, then 15 without drop.

It took me (63 warrior) about 45 minutes to collect all.

Both this and the Spore sac quest is repeateable. For the first turn-in I got 10500 xp and 750 rep. Dont know how much a repeat of the quest does.

15.60 is the right coords for this quest. You dont have to go on the other side of the map to do this quest. I needed 30 mins to complete it and all i did was hanging around 15.60 and killing giants. Enjoy!1

Not where you expect but these bog lords drop them quite frequently. 1 in every 3 I'd say. And they're all over the place.

My quest log tells me i've got 6 out of 6 of those things, and can hand in the quest... but I haven't got a single one:)

Anyone else having this 'issue'?

To complete this quest you need to bring Bog Lord Tendrils to Fahssn at the Spawning Glen.

You may carry some tendrils in the backpack already, as they drop with no quest picked up. If you don't - make your way slightly to the west, to the area with big orange glowing spores.
There are mobs within the area you can loot Bog Lord Tendrils from - Starving Fungal Giants and Starving Bog Lords - drop chance is medium.

Us sporelings and the bog lords have never gotten along well. In the past, we've managed to keep them at bay with spears and stones. Lately they seem to have become more aggressive... or more desperate. They do not fear us or our weapons.

You are much scarier and better armed than us. If you were to fight the boglords for us, we'd be forever in your debt! Bring me their tendrils so I know how many you've killed.
