Soloable, did so as a 67 feral druid. Immune to stuns and snares like the other elite beasts, but doesn't hit terribly hard and only does melee damage. This bird moves pretty fast though so kiting might be difficult.

The respawn time of Gutripper is around 5 minutes, I guess that's the same for the other two elites from the Mastery-quests.

Soloed very easily as a lvl 70 warlock with a lvl 68 elite demon enslaved at Forge Camp Hate.

Gutripper is a black colored 67 elite bird/owl that roams in a pattern just east of Warmaul Hill. If you don't find him at first Gutripper roams in a repeatable pattern. Just outside of Forge Camp Hate: heading northeast he will roam visiting all the clefthoof corpses, heading in a northerly direction on the western side of the road leading to Zangarmarsh. He will roam almost to the border of Zangarmarsh before crossing the road and heading east towards more clefthoof corpses. At this point he will track south a little bit before taking off to the air where he will track again towards Forge Camp: Hate and begin his pattern again. It takes roughly 5 minutes to complete his roaming pattern.

Gutripper is immune to Fear and will present a problem to hunters attempting to kite him because he flys very fast.

Gutripper is also immune to freeze effects. He is, indeed, very fast (able to outfly an epic ground mount).

Can't figure out any way to solo this quest as a mage. Gutripper hits too fast and moves too fast to kite. He also tears through the elemental in about 10 seconds. Was able to duo it at 68 with a 67 demo lock using the imp. Just pile on every trinket/cooldown you can and pray for lots of crits for a quick kill.

Soloed all 3 Mastery as a Demology Warlock, started with putting up curse of doom and corruption, sent Felguard in and just health funnel until i had to put corruption and curse of doom up again,

i did only put up Corruption up 2 times due to the fact when i tried more, my felguard went low on health cos of the GCD

Solo'd as a Warlock. Just enslaved the Mo'arg Master Planner from nearby and let him do all of the work. Did the same for the Talbuk Mastery as well.

Solo'd as a 65 Affliction warlock. Just went over to a forge camp and enslaved a felguard legionnaire thing. Piece of cake.

If you use this strat I suggest using the legionnaires instead of the engineer dudes, the engineers cant really hold aggro too well and their dps is a bit weaker.

I think the above comments prove that warlocks need to be nerfed. Grats on solo'ing the mastery quests though. Must have saved you a bunch of time instead of looking for group.

Definitely not solo-able as a mage. I was 66 frost spec. at the time and owing to it's immunity to snares and roots - there is no way to control the flow of battle.

Even with an elemental and Ice Block/Barrier, there is just no way to keep him away from you for long enough to get in the shots to kill him. His hits are far too powerful.

For mages: you'll need a tank to hold aggro whilst you nuke. No other way if you're doing it at the intended level.

Soloed as a 68 protection pally. Bit of a slow fight, but more an endurance battle than anything else. I judged and sealed with light and only had to heal once. Toward the end as I was running out of mana I sealed with Vengeance instead to get him down a little faster. He can be stunned with Hammer of Justice. Compared to the rest of the other mastery elites, Gutripper doesn't hit too hard, which helps a lot.

I found him at about 36.21.

Solo'd as a 65 Druid. Same as everything else... Bash at ~50% health, heal, use Barkskin as needed, then back to bear. Took me about three tries--at one point he resisted two bashes--but finally got it. I found the best place to fight him was where he crosses the road leading out of Nagrand to the North; no worry about adds or other interference there, and you can see him coming a minute or two before he actually gets there.

Just make sure you keep Demo Roar up at ALL times!

Soloed as 68 BM hunter, send pet in spam heal, when he gets very low, take aggro till pet is almost full hp, let him take aggro again, worked fine for me.

Locks can solo, just go to the forge camp hate/fear and enslave one of the OMG UBER!!! felguards and go kick some ass (curse of shadows makes enslave last it's full time)

Managed to solo all 3 elite Mastery quests as a 66 feral druid with ok gear, used the same method for them all.(Slighty different with this one)
With this one i found it imposible to attack it in the air so i could not pounce it like i did the others, still a easy battle
Start in bear, demoralizing roar (VERY IMPORTANT) ,and just stack lacerate to 5 and maul and mangle away till you hit about 50% health then bash till stunned, heal with Rejuve and Regrowth or as i did a healing touch and then swich back to bear and continue the previous method and the kills should be easy!
-Try to keep Demoralizing roar up all the time
-Avoid moving around much so no extra pulls
-Dont forget about Frenzied Regeneration if things go realy bad

Only died once and that was my first attempt on the Talbuk

Just now solo'ed as lv67 prot Pally.

Best place to fight him is at 33, 20 - on the path leading North to Zangarmarsh. He tracks between the Windroc groups, so sitting here beats trying to run him down, and the whole time i was there nothing else came close.

Judged Crusader and beat him down with SoV, HS up always (of course). Judged Vengeance every 8 seconds, and used HoJ and a bomb to cast Holy Light a couple of times. Bubbled right at the end to bandage but could have gambled with a Hammer of Wrath instead.

I'm a beastmaster hunter on Cenarius. Lvl 70. My first character (and last).These three initial boss nessingways quests have taught what a poor player I am. Never even got the knack for kiting (just didn't need it usually for PvE play)

Tried to solo all 3, and failed at all 3.

I tried the gutripper solo at 69. My pet went down and I would have died, but a friendly hunter stepped in and helped. (Thanks!) Like all 3 GR hits hard and has plenty of HP.

All 3 of these quests are very easy to complete in a pair. But, for those few poor hunter players like me,very tough to solo.

PS After writing that, I tried a healing technique on Bachlor. Bought some pretty inexpensive green extra healing potency gear at the AH, and just kept healing my pet...getting a few shots in now and then between mend spells. By the time I ran out of mana (and potions) Bachlor was down low enough that I could take him out in melee.

Edited. The new patch toook away that style. Healing gear no longer effects mend pet. Figures ; - )

Still haven't been able to solo gutripper. I got him down to 30% before he dropped my scorpid pet. My hunter is 68 but the scorpid is still 66.

Hunter heals just don't cut it.

if your heals dont cut it get a frost trap on the floor in advance lead him over and take 30 sec breather.. bandage if need let your pet regain some energy and send him in blazing again.

if you need more time put another trap down..

should be doable i'll try it myself soon
