I've only seen this NPC spawn at (30, 44). The quest is only available once you kill the two Brutes next to him.

The quest is rather easy, at one point you're assaulted by 5 guards, if you can keep them all off him, as a druid, priest, warlock or mage, you could solo this quest (i did at 65 - druid)

I can´t talk to the Mag'har Captive, even if I kill the 2 Brutes. Is there any prerequirement for this? Like a certain faction with The Mag'har ?

warlock at 65, regular picked up from quests gear, soloed this thing no problem. Make sure all the extra stuff on the road is cleared first, keep him in front of you as always. Hit everyone with corruption, then targetted the 3 big boys. they all fell quickly. worse part is the 2-3 that hit you just as you start the quest, wasn't ready for those. heal up after killing his guards before getting started.

Fairly easily solo'ed as a 68 Warrior.

If you can take out 3 mobs at once, you should be okay since the Scavengers go down quickly. Focus on the Brute, then Raider and pummel the Putrifier if he gets tricky with spells. The fights only have 3 real mobs in them once you discount the Scavengers, so it's not that bad.

IMO don't clear the area before you do this or you run the risk of having adds spawn during the scripted fights. You can take down 1-2 mobs easy in their normal spawn spots and the script won't bring the 5-pack until you're done with the normal mobs and can heal up. Have bandages and good food, and this should be cake to solo, at least at 68. (and I only waited until 68 cause I didn't realize this was part of the long Thrall chain).

Very easy as a 68 rogue modestly geared. make sure u have full life when you start then bandage after each encounter. Focus on the brute by the time your done with them the npc will pretty much be done tearing through the casters.

Just as a note, this guy attacks alliance (as well as anything else that would be red to you). During my trip he attacked a rogue, who vanished, and a paladin that I ended up having to kill. If you're on a pvp server you may want to make sure there isnt a large group of alliance on the road out or else you'll be up for a hefty amount of pvp.

Otherwise, a straight forward quest. Solo'ed as a 69 druid in bear form the entire time. Just be ready for a fight as soon as you accept the quest.

Soloed as a Lv66 hunter. Just go after the scavengers first (they're squishy), then the casters, then the melee guy. The NPC heals the pet, so that makes it easy.

It was really easy for me (warrior lvl 69), with sweeping strikes, cleaves and whirlwind (talents 31arms-26fury-3prot at lvl 69)

I was lucky that all the path to the exit was clear as there were people around doing other quests.

Anyway, take care as the captive will atack all kind of enemies (mobs and allies)

Just be ready for the first wave, which is the hardest.

When you deliver the quest, it continues with the grandmother inside the hut who will ask you to collect some herbs (annoying travelling quest in 4 maps)

At the time i was questing in Nagrang i failed and dropped this quest. Now at 70 and decided to to it again and it is not available.
Wondering what is wrong.

Kinda easy to solo for my class (67,hunter) Make sure to send the pet to the harder Murkbloods while hitting the scavengers with multi-shot, once they come to you lay an explosive trap and say bye bye. I dindt actually see the NPC heal my pet but he dindt drop from 2kHP. The npc goes for everything in the road so watch out for allies, they will probably kite him away. Only 2 waves of Murkblood poped to me, 1 at the start and the 2nd in the middle of the village, keep an eye on the Murkblood Raiders patrols, is gonna be a pain when fighting a wave and the patrol joins.

Solo'd as a level 65 BM hunter at melee range, geared only with Quest rewards and early Outland instance gear. 6x Heavy Netherweave bandages, 1x Filtered Draenic Water, 1x Purple Raptor. The NPC seems to keep himself alive fairly effectively. Freezing traps to keep one from each wave/pack at bay. Nice XP/Rep reward and well worth the 7 minutes it takes.

The quest is very easy, the NPC nearly impossible to kill. I managed to pull two groups of mobs, one that had spawned and another that was patrolling the region, for a total of 6 mobs. I just spammed arcane explosion and somehow it worked out.
Easy quest, very fun.

If youre impatient like I am this quest will drive you crazy. You need to clear the hut completely before attempting the rescue and you must attempt the rescue as soon as possible after clearing.

The problem I ran into was that as I was leaving the hut things would spring up around me, and clearly more than were intended to spawn for the event. I was fighting between 8 and 12 mobs at once, and it was rarely pretty and always frustrating to see the NPC croak under ridiculous pressure. This kind of fight is fun when all that matters is you surviving, but with Weak-sauce McAggroThief it can get annoy to try to save him.

As of August 9th 2007

The quest seems to have been tweaked in a recent patch. It spawns as many mobs as before, but the escort won't heal himself anymore, is squishier and does a lot less damage with his chain lightning.

Whereas, 4 months ago, I could stealth next to him with my rogue and just let him deal with everything that came his way, I now need every resource available just to get through it alone. This quest can still be soloed fairly easily if you have some AoE, but otherwise, I'd recommend getting some help.

Very easy as a hunter. The guy being escorted heals himself and your pet, making this easy as pie. Just send your pet in, and let it rip on the enemies.

This quest was really easy for me as a 64 fury warrior. Just whirlwind and sweeping strikes, he heals you really good.

Quest is gliched as of patch 2.4, NPC which starts this quest is nowhere to be found. i waited in this area for an hour and a half, and he didnt show up. got a good rep grind for it though, lol

The first ambush happens before you even leave the hut but was only 2 mobs. The second ambush -- which was 5 mobs for me -- happens at the first intersection you come to. After that, the quest is pretty much over and you just follow him out of the village.

This was not bad as a prot warrior. I did it at 66. The quest mob can't take much of a beating, but he can dish it out pretty well. When the large ambush came, I used Challenging Shout to focus everyone on me, then went into my standard tanking routine while he cast his Chain Lightning. His little blurbs while fighting are pretty funny, too. Make sure you clear the area immediately around the hut, or you'll be fighting more than you can handle.

Edit: He does heal back to full after each ambush though, so if he's limping after the first one don't worry.

I could've sworn he healed me during the quest. Which is amazing and makes it one of the most pleasant escortees ever. Other than that, easily soloable as a 70 rogue, one mob spawn in a group of 4, the rest is just scenery mobs you can dispose of ahead of time.

Says Suggested 2 players but I managed to finish it solo as a 67 Arms Warrior. The mob heals itself and you given a chance so it's very useful. Apart from the mobs on the site you get attacked by a set of three mobs right at the start and approx 5 mobs halfway through.

I soloed this quest as a 67 frost mage. And i did this quest 5 times due to bad bad alliance people keep aggroing him and killed him... So do take note of this thing. And also, do remember to try to pull the mob that spawned near him so he can help to attack. I noticed that if he didn't get the aggro from the spawned mobs, he will just walk away and left you alone to kill the 2 groups.

Solo'd as 68 druid but it didn't lead to the other quests. I have to do "Survey the Land" and it won't let me without a group. Does that sound right?

If the captive is not offering the quest, you'll need to wait for the two Murkblood Brutes to spawn. Once they are killed he will offer the excort quest.

This is a slow escort quest, that you pick up from a captive after you kill the two brutes next to him. If you jumped the gun and flew off to do the quest and failed, abandon the quest and return to the captive. If the two brutes are there, but not the captive, don't kill the brutes... because the captive appears shortly afterwards, and you have to wait awhile for the two brutes to respawn once again before you can kill them and pick up the quest again.

Thank you, stranger. They would have surely killed me had it not been for you.

I was kidnapped by these Murkbloods 3 nights ago during a nighttime raid on Garadar. What I have since uncovered may very well shake the foundation of the Outland: these savages seek to recover the totem of Kar'dash! We cannot allow the totem to fall into the hands of the Murkbloods!

You must help me escape. And stranger, if I do not make it back to Garadar, you must tell Garrosh what happened here...
