This quest is obtainable at level 66 only after completing the first 2 'WANTED' quests:

Both are available at the sign next to Warden Iolol.

An easy quest for a capable group of 5. He does a knockback/thunderclap type of spell that does mild DMG. His melee strikes don't do very much at all.

Durn is huge and wanders in a circular pattern around the Spirit Fields, you can't really miss him.

I think that at level 66-67 you could 3-4 man this without too much trouble. I 5-manned this with guildies, a feral druid, a prot-spec war (me), a warlock, a hunter, and a holy-spec pally main healing.

I recommend finding Durn and clearing a small area to fight in. He hit me (425 Defense, 10500 or so Armor) for about 1100-1200 per whack. He has a knockback (800ish damage I want to say) but it's pretty short so you don't really need to tank him against a mountain or clear a square mile of territory to fight him in.

Short Version:
1. Find Durn.
2. Quickly clear a small area to fight him in.
3. Pull.
4. Tank and Spank. (~1100-1600 non-crushing damage depending on armor/def, 800-1000 maybe on knockback)

Durn was a pain for me, (Fury spec warrior) to tank. He hit me for around 1500-1700 per hit and the AE knock back did about 1k dmg. The group I had was Me (66 fury warrior) as tank, Priest (70 Holy/Dis) as main healer, Pally (66 Ret spec) back up healing, Warlock (70 destruction) and a 66 Hunter. pretty easy tank and spank kill. Awsome 1h wep the Crystalline Kopesh. Have fun with this 1 :D

respawn is under 5 minutes. the ideal place to fight him is on the east side of Oshu'gun, around 45,72.

Verified:

You must do the two wanted quests - Giselda The Crone and Zorbo the Adviser - suicide to solo at the obtainable level of 64, but fun to do in a group at that level, easier to do at 66, and most will be 65/66 when they do this if they've done the HP - Zangermarsh (and Sporeggar) - some of the lower instances - then Terokkar and the quests there, and Bone Wastes - not all of it, since the Sha'tar camp quests can wait, they are primarily for rep - but doing most of this, unless one soloes everything and skips instances, will have you at 65/66 for Nagrand, a good level if you don't want to be dying constantly. ;)

As for the stategy, kiting to town works, yes... but if you have a decently strong group, clear around the large rock near the Consortium camp, just across from it, and then have the tank fight him backed into the rock - that way, he can't throw the tank. As for the rest of the group, the recommended five is, in my opinion, the way to go - we had several level 66 players and 2 70s - a group of 66s can do it, but would be easier to kite, with the 2 higher levels, one a lock nuking, the other a hunter, we had the extra power to take him down. Aside from the tank (level 66) - two priests level 66 both shadow but in non-shadow healer garb, healing and dotting, keeping aggro down.

It might be wise to use a threat meter on this mob. Indeed, for anything that requires a group from level 55 or so on, the KLH Threat Meter is mandatory in my opinion - you need to see how much threat you are creating and whether you are about to pull aggro from the tank - ESPECIALLY if you are a mage, lock, or Shadow Priest with a full shadow spec, doing high crits with Mind Blast - fire mages have high burst dps - even rogues and hunters need it, too much threat and the tank loses aggro and your clothies die, the group wipes - and on this mob, a mage or lock can easily outdamage the warrior, especially if they don't watch the damage, and while a 70 lock is a very strong player, cloth is, after all, cloth, and one stomp from this mob - or perhaps two - and that's that, no matter how high one might crit.

And folks - WAIT FOR SUNDERS - I realize how obvious this sounds to veteran players, but I always see level 70 newer players starting to blast away then blame the tank when he can't hold aggro. WAIT. If your group is lower level on this mob, wait for FIVE sunders. There is even a horde side guild on my server (Norgannon) with that name. I don't play a tank, my warrior is on hold while I get my priest to 70, but all warriors, prot spec or arms (or the occasional fury tanking) will need to get good aggro (high threat) on this mob before the dps classes start to blast away. Our shadow priest, although not in shadow, and healing, nonetheless did too much damage a few times and pulled aggro off the tank.

Good luck -- the rewards are wonderful, the Azure Lightblade for my healing kit was great - coupled with a quest reward from Sethekk Halls, The Saga of Terokk, a nice healer set -- for tanks, the Crystalline Kopesh is great for tanking - having the two hander from the Ring of Blood (the axe) - or obtaining Terokk's Quill (Polearm) from a quest in Sethekk Halls, are great for arms warriors for soloing, and Terokk's Quill has lots of agility - with a +25 or +35 agility enchant, it's a great hunter weapon or equally great for the arms warrior who wants to a high crit rate but doesn't want to go fury.

Pretty easy fight, the 3 of us did it on the second try: me (a dps warrior) tanking, a feral druid healing and a lock nuking :)

We found the best spot to kill him at was the bluffs just south of the consortium camp.

No adds except for banthar and he doesn't add if you stay out his way

Nice and handy to a rez spot if like us yr tank cannot hold the aggro (even if you wait for sunders) and you die a bit.

Chasing Durn around is a bad idea. He walks fast and goes through a lot of mobs that will aggro.

Didn't try kiting him to the camp as one of our party was of the opinion that that particular option has now been nerfed.

Hits hard,, but nothin too difficult. Good group of 5 lvl 66 chars wont have much of a problem.

Walks in a circle around the mound,, clear ahead of his path to avoid adds and wait for him.

So long as he keeps focused on the tank is a easy fight,, 65 rogue didnt need a single heal during constant dmg dealin,, I popped a pot out of paranoia and hit evasion twice, but in retrospect wasn't needed.

One of the best lookin critters in Outland,, but look elsewhere for a challenge.

if your having trouble with him wait untill hes near the road at the town
and kite him to the bridge into town the two lvl 70 elite guards will tank him for you.

You have destroyed two of the biggest threats in Nagrand, <name>. Are you ready to take on the scourge of the Spirit Fields?

Durn the Hungerer lords over the area surrounding Oshu'gun, decimating all in his path. Thus far, none have been able to rid Nagrand of this ferocious gronn. Gather your allies and venture to the Spirit Fields, west of here, and track down Durn. Slay him and I assure you rewards commensurate with the difficulty of the task at hand.
