This questline involves usually a group of 5 people of at least level 65. There are about five total fights you need to win in the Ring of Blood in order to get to this end quest. The fights are rather simple, but will definitely be a challenge to a group of all level 65 players. Be sure to have a solid healer and tank. Others can help without being on the quest by damaging the creature that's summoned for these quests, but you cannot get credit for this if you're in a raid.

This is the final quest in the Ring of Blood series. He is quite a bit easier than the previous boss, but that's no reason to slack off. He will walk into the arena via the entrance, so position your group accordingly. His special abilities include Chain Lightning, dropping totems, and Healing Wave. Designate a group member take out his totems when they spawn.

After killing him he will ANKH BACK TO LIFE. After his second death the fight is over. The rewards from this series (both xp and items) are VERY nice -- well worth the effort and time.

A note to any rogues doing this quest:

If you use the new Wound Poison (reduces healing by 10%, stacking), it will affect the amount of health that he ankhs with. My group had 5 stacks of Wound Poison on him and he ankhed with 50% hp.

Currently very buggy:
If anyone in your party already has the quest in their log (failed or incomplete) when another person initiates it, it will fail.
If you happen to die, it will fail.
If you relog, it will fail.

Once you complete it, turn it in asap.

When you are starting your quest, make sure there is nobody else engaged with boss. It is possible to summon two or even three at the time as when you kite boss out of the ring quest giver will give others chance to start their quest. So far I've seen people without parties summon theirs and hope that other people around will deal with their target.

Just did the whole series right in a row. Party was:

We took out all the bosses with ease, save the fifth, who we were caught off-guard for and wiped right away. Otherwise, a chain with awesome rewards that can be done in less than 20 minutes.

Yeah the penultimate boss is a tricky one; and he seems to be able to spawn in 3 different shapes. First an etheral, then something else (wasn't paying THAT much attention that time) and the 3rd time a fel orc. Regardless, he had the same abilities (random charge and mortal strike).

The full chain at 70 is about 118gold :> (with a possible extra 10g if you vendor the 2h axe, I DE;d mine)

and if you go as healer, non mana clases sometimes give you the mana pots. which is truly awesome.

Ok, I had a tough time with this quest. We had about ten ppl, 5 doing the quest and 5 helping. Just make sure you have a good tank and keep him alive at all costs. Save all cooldowns for when he res'es; all you really have to worry about before that is the chain lightning which hits hard. Now, when he gets back up he hits like a truck - my rogue got hit by a crit for approx 8400 dmg to give you an idea. This is why it is extremely important to have a tank maintain aggro. My recommendation is to burn him down as fast as possible.

dunno if it's a glitch or something that Blizzard have changed but Mogor ankhed with 100%HP instead of 50%

You either need an incredibly well geared tank or an incredibly well geared healer for the final ankh enrage on Mogor. This was so much harder than when I did it the first time around.

My druid had absolutely no chance of keeping up with the damage being dealt even with max HoTs and healing touch spam. If you can heal for >2000HPS then sure, but otherwise you basically need two healers, a decent tank and decent DPS. This isn't the cakewalk it used to be.

Easily made with a lvl 70 priest, a 66 Warrior, 2 65 Warlocks and a 66 Rogue.

One try per monster, the tank held aggro 100% of the time, and going on a mad rampage with our lock spells wasn't nearly risky for us. Worst moment was against the Next-to-last monster, the Champion, when he used Mortal Strike and scored a critical on our tank. Yet, he survived.

You don't need so many players, it's easily doable 5-man with a good tank and healer.

We were able to fly through the all the elites except for the last one. The guy hit me for about 4K in damage the paliden has to supe up his skills.

But All in all about 70G and 80K EXP for me

And the 2H Axe is amazing. Finally replaced my Obsidian Edged Blade from MC.

We did this final part after 3 unsuccesfull attempts.
We got about 8 player to help and 2 healers and I also died 3 times... Morgo hits very hard, around 4k on me on his crits (8,6k armor) but we were able to finish him.

I just think that this should not be recommended for lvl 65 players...

We had three 70 players helping but it was still hard...

Did this as lvl 65 lock with lvl 70 mage, warrior and holy priest. Did not expect he'd hit so hard in phase 2 so wiped. Next time was prepared and finished it off with no problem. Loving my battle mage's baton. :)

Make sure to abandon the quest if you fail it. Several times, me and/or my party members forgot to abandon and when another party member started the quest, all we would see if Mogor standing there and not turning hostile.

At lvl 66 and 12k armor I was getting hit for 2.5k during phase 2. The lvl 70 priest we had could barely keep up and went oom before we (66 lock, 67 sham and hunter) could finish. If Mogor got a couple crits in a row we were done. We were only able to complete it after a 70 lock came and helped us out.

Hits like a truck when he's enraged, and he hits FAST! His chain lightning can be reflected too, don't forget.

He Ankh's to 100% health. Definitely harder than the 5th boss now.

It's definitely recommended to get a couple off group (bored guildies, whatever) players to help out, because you can.

Tips: Rogue with mind numbing + wound poison will greatly reduce his healing/damage per sec (since his chain lightning can't be interrupted, putting on a 50% lower casting speed is the second best option), allowing an average tank/healer to keep up easier. (Prob. works with Curse of Tounges as well, haven't tried though)

Plus Wound Poison makes him ress with only half HP, or at least it used to when I did this quest with my rogue :)

Something no one seems to have mentioned before is the simple fact that his chain lightning only hits those in front of him.

Have the tank turn him around, away from the dps and heals so that they (the tank) are the only one hit by it.

On the enrage: can a hunter Tranq shot him and remove it? Would make things easier and more "strategic" if it did.

Also, it might be a god idea to save this for when you are 70. If you can manage without the weapon. the XP->gold is incredible. a 70 i did it with said you get almost double, so about 120-130g as opposed to the 66, a little helpful for those who just turned and want their flying mount.

The boss is not so hard. There are some tricks to defeat it. I have made it twice. First time we had like 10ppl and the second time just 5:D

The trick is that mogor is using chain lightning and it does like 4k dmg:D if it hits:d And thats the hint for warriors:D If u see that he charges chain lightning put your spell reflection on!
It does to mogor 4k DMG and thats a lot.
And the second hint would be that mogor attacks always the one who takes the quest so let tank take the quest. (Our mage died because of that:D

We had no problems with the bosses, however the problem lied within Horde. I'm an alliance ret pally on Auchindoun, and there's a level 70 BE Hunter who is absolutely despised by everyone pretty much. So, we had a serious horde problem because they couldn't wait their turn and let us finish. We ended up waiting like an hour because they camped us before finishing the quest. Anyway, after completing the whole chain, you get a total of 67.2g (67g 20s), along with a weapon of choice. Because I'm a ret pally, I took the axe. =] Fairly easy fights, as long as you have 5 players who know what they're doing. And having a group of 70s never hurt.

We did this as a 65 (me, the lowest lvl) - 67 players, died total 2 times, cos ı died while tanking.. The elites are really strong, if you are not prot (or fury like me) your shield dont make too much difference, you need lots of heal but no overheal..

Good earnings, ı loved that fist weapon..

Having done this on my warrior and rogue previously at 65 I did the same with my new alliance druid.

I tanked it, our group being mainly 65-67's. Holy paladin was healing.

My stats in bear with fort, kings, motw, and food buff is:
10.7k hp
13k armor
24% dodge
34 resil +19 defense

First few bosses are cake, the toughest is The Warmaul Champ. due to MS. The nice part about this event is that anyone around can lend a hand, so ask some friends to come out and help! :)

did the first 5 with ease, but the last 1 had trouble coz healer kept running our of mana, replaced priest with holy pally and it was a piece of cake..

FYI

his heals cannot be interrupted nor his other casts (tried on 12/12/2007), we tried pummel and shield bash non worked.
and hits quite strong (he hit me for 6000damage as fury warrior with 6500 armor)

To bad this quest-line lacks rewards for hunters. "O rly?" you say? Ya rly!

I can simply replace any reward with a Battle Scythe of the Bandit, lvl 64 green-drop. (+24 agi, +37 sta, +49 ap, nevermind the DPS you shouldn't have to hit anything with it anyway). I had some luck and got it as a drop on lvl 63, but the AH reeks with good "of the Bandit"-items.

So... as a hunter, ignore the quest until you pop lvl 70, and make a decent 128 gold in ten minutes instead. And the lowbies doing the quest with you will love your DPS.

From what I noticed last night (wiped to him a couple of times with a fresh 65s group) he will chain lightning whoever talked to the goblin to initiate the event. There was nothing I (pally tank) could do to grab aggro and keep him from zapping the healer who initiated.

As its been said when he gets down the first time put a "reduce healing effects by %) and he spanws at half healths, quite helpfull as he will then heal instead of zap someone again.

Loved this q..
Did it only for the Honed Voidaxe..
Was at 66 lvl Retribution Paladin , picked up two of my guild members - 70 Holy Pala and 70 frost Mage..
The q was just easy money+xp+amazing reward..

Well the Honed Voidaxe is probably one of the best two-handed weapon reward in Outland, if your weapon is weak, then consider doing this q..

But one thing i relay didn't like, of course theres is a catch in this great q, the elites around the arena...!
Be careful when you run from the q giver to the arena and back, make sure you don't get in the elite mobs aggro range, because it's very, very annoying to take down 2 Ogre Elites with 60 k hp at the same time, just a waist of time..

His Chain Lightning can be Spell Reflected, however if youre back is to the group it will still hit them and himself, but you'll be the only one left unscathed (until he slaps you :P)

Completed this quest as a Lvl 66 pyro mage last night. Grouped with 70 druid (tank), 70 frost mage, 70 paladin (healer) and 65 rogue.

All preceeding fights were quite easy given the group strength, however we wiped 4 times on the final battle. He hits extremely hard and his chain lighting kept hitting the rogue, therefore forcing heals on him as well as the tank. This additional healing requirement meant that we lost our tank.

Once this happened he could 2 hit us squishies. It was all over from there...

Got him in the end. Excellent questline. Made over 100,000XP, 70gp, and scored a sweet weapon, all in 30 minutes.

The rewards in one way or another have something for each class to at least be able to use. Rogue gets the luxury of picking between virtually the same item but slow or fast based on need. 2h Axe sells for the most, if doing this for money at 70 get that at the end. Exp from this is killer and the rewards aren't half bad either. The reputation output seems rather bland by comparison. Don't under estimate this quest chain, bring 5 people or plan perfectly, OR bring 70's lol.

While there are no stats for ranged damage or crit bonus, the 2h axe is still a good hunter weapon. Thinko of it as similar to the IBS. IBS had no other stats but the stamina, agility bonuses were great. The same is true for the Voidaxe.

Just did that with a group of 66-67s, one 70 hunter. Myself tanking (67 feral druid), 66 holy pala healing, mage, rogue and hunter dps. Wiped once on the 2nd to last boss (MS hurts), and had help from a 70 priest for this last boss since our pally had trouble topping me off when he ankhs. No spell dmg mitigation hurts bear tanks.

A tip for you tanking types - turn him away from the rest of the group. This way the chain lightning only hits you.

I logged off for the night after completing it 'cause I couldn't decide which item to pick, I logged on the next day to see the quest failed.

First time I did this, we had a "group" of 6 (or maybe 7), all hunters and casters except for a 70 warrior (3 70s total), and we were dying left and right. Just did it with a normal group, 2 shaman, 2 warriors, rogue, and it was a piece of cake. The ones that charge around really cause trouble for ranged classes, but if you can keep it all in one place, it's nothing.

Just a warning. Decide which reward you want before starting the quest. I completed it but couldn't decide on the reward yet. So i logged on next day and the quest showed as failed. Now i have to do the last quest again :(

And i'm pretty sure it's "working as intended". Will ask a gm about it anyway.

What a sad low live someone has to be to earn his money in that way. Games are some of the last resorts (at least some times) where greed does not rule everything and sometimes a little faith in humanity can come up because people do not take everything so seriously...but you are one of those who deals the deathblow to that hope.

Fun quest chain, tons of gold and tons of exp for doing it too. The rewards are pretty much straight upgrades for every class for almost everyone. Arguing about what weapon belongs to who is pretty pointless since this is a quest, and everyone can get whatever they please.

Done it with me (66 Mage), 70 Holy/Discipline Priest, 70 Demonology Warlock, 66 Rogue and a 70 Protection Warrior. I died at the last boss, they killed it, ressed me and I completed it. Now got a great staff! :)

Me (lvl67 Feral Tank)

Shaman wasn't specced/geared for healing but did so anyway (limited to basically spamming greater healing wave).

All fights up to this one were cakewalks, we wiped a few times but not because of the bosses, but because someone would ALWAYS start the quest prematurely while everyone was eating/drinking/afk between fights.

Then we get to this guy...First phase is ok...I end the phase in the orange health wise, and Healer is completely tapped out - When he rezes he 1 hit crit kills me and chain lightning kills all others in 1-2 hits. Next attempt(s) we tryed me healing myself after first phase and popping Innervate/mana pots on healer, and those times he had enough mana but the boss just RAPED me so fast he couldnt keep up (His wave would heal me for 2-3k, and this guy was doing more than that in 1-2 hits on me...).

Finally we had to enlist the help of a warrior and pally both lvl70 that were near. Warrior tanked and Me+Shaman+Pally were all healing him, and got it done (he still dipped low on health a time or two though).

My Suggestion for easy fight is have either an Epicc'ed out lvl70 Tank or Epicc'ed out lvl70 Healer, or its going to be a close fight unless you have just the perfect synergy of classes in your group.

This guy hits very very hard once you drop him and he rezes for round two. With 2 healers it wouldn't have been a problem honestly, but he would knock my life off faster then the preist could cast, and thats one after another greater heals.

Anyways, we all got whiped, sept the priest, she managed to finsih teh guy with a mindblast.
THe main point to this post is to infom you, that if u release you fail the chain instantly. BUT if you can kill the guy (like in our case) and be rezed on the spot, it counts as completed.
SO don't release if u die, all is not lost if someone in your party can finish him, you still win. as long as someone can rez u that is.

When I did this, we had a group of 5, all around lvl 66.

I tanked (Feral Druid) had a holy priest for a healer, had a rogue, a warrior & pally. Took us once to complete the entire thing. The final challenge was a piece of cake. Though we were surprised he came back for another round, lol. So basically the Final Challenge had 2 parts.

The Warmaul Champion is a bit difficult. Need LOTS of HoTs, the cleave he does HURTS bad. Just keep up hots and maintain all out DPS and you should be fine. If you have an extra healer-type in your party (like we had a pally) that was previously dps-ing, you might want to have them switch to healing for this fight.

Other then that, its pretty simple. Took us i think 20-30 min. (its been a little while since I did this lol) Make sure you have some good group composition, and watch out for opposition factions....I know on my server when i went to do it I saw some horde fouling up the fights :( Luckily they stopped when it was my groups turn. :\

Rogue, rogue, healadin, protadin*me and dpsin warrior. We had 70 lock standin outside the group doin some dps. These guys hit super hard, died a few times near the end but my group lived and we all finished up. Ran through it a few times to get others our lvl outside of the group through it. Most fun quest i've done so far, it was just too neat.

Our original group for this quest consisted of a 65 Warrior, 66 Hunter, 67 Rogue, 67 Mage, & 70 Pally with a 66 Rogue helping out on the side. Needless to say it was a mess. We didn't have any major problems/deaths until Mogor. He wiped us 4 times. Then, we replaced our 65 War with a 68, and got outside help from a 70 Druid, 70 Priest, 70 Hunter, and another 70 Pally. Even then he killed a few of us each try. I wish I had read the comments before releasing to graveyard after each death I had. Ehhh.

So, go with a balanced group, and don't release to graveyard if you die and Mogor is killed. Have a Pally rez u.

Major headache but sweet Dagger reward :))

tanked this guy today on my 65 Prot Warrior with no problem had a 70 Spriest healing the key to doing this guy if ur a prot warrior is "spell reflect" i reflected his chain lightning everytime he casted it giving the healer a helping hand on reduction of damage to me and the group my warrior has about 9k hp unbuffed and close to 10k armor unbuffed he hit me pretty good mostly for 700 to 1100 crits for 2k2ish i popped last stand and my HP trinket after he rezed so jumped to just a little over 13k health this is not a fight i would recommend for a 65 prot warrior to do ... even though i completed it im VERY well geared for my level

i'll be honest, wiped a lot. 67 Rogue lovin the fist weapon. Very tempted to get the dagger, but a better one drops in Shattered Halls. ^_^ I was talking to my rogue officer about it.

As a rogue, I would suggest that any other rogues attempting this uses wound poison on him. I'm way to lazy to check if someone had already mentioned this, but it reduces the healing he does on himself by a lot, just thought i'd drop in some input.

Just venting here.

Had a full group, I dont remember the exact setup, but there was a priest and a shaman, I was tanking as a prot warrior.
We breezed through everyone except the big guy. We wiped quite a bit when he rezzed. Finally, on about the fifth try, we beat him, but I died at the very end. So I waited a little bit, no rez. I asked group for a rez, no rez. I knew that if I released I would fail quest. I mentioned that, no rez. It was about a minute until my timer ran out, I made sure to re-emphasize that if my timer ran out or I released, I would fail quest, still no rez. Then my timer ran out and I auto released, automatically failing quest. Talk about one pissed off warrior.

I am a rogue and on alot of quests i find that the rewards are useless as they have int 4 druids (even rare rewards). I also sometimes find this with weapons- what could be a nice dagger gets ruined with some int. What i am saying to all you hunters out there is either go 4 one of the rewards or leave it.... its no biggy that there isn't a 'perfect' reward for you in 1 quest in the entire game!

P.S. tbh i think the dagger/fist is pritty gd 4 hunters anyway

If you're complaining about the lack of a hunter weapon, think again. Every single freaking quest reward that is plate has intellect on it. I'm serious. I haven't picked up a single piece of quest gear since Hellfire, until I did Forge Camp: Annihilated, and that's still only tank gear.

Axe: Hunter/ Ms warrior--ok got str but 2hw on hunters is better than DW you can find better stated wepons if you wanna DW
Staff of beasts: feral druids ofc
Mage Baton: Mage/locks/shadow priests
Dagger: rogues/Fury warrior OH
Fist weapon: rogue/Fury warrior MH
Mace: All healing classes-probally aint worth it as most priests are leveling at this time with most shadow for the time being

you have to kill a few elites (in de arena) to get those rewards but it worth it.

Compared to the guy you just defeated to get to this point, this guy is CAKE. He does'nt hit too hard, his spells are'nt too powerful, he can't be silenced or shield bashed/interrupted, but you can use spell reflection on him. He's a basic tank and spank, and, being the ever-loving shaman that he is, will rez after you kill him, to be killed again. Basically, beating the Warrior will ensure you the phat lewts of this quest, with almost every class hving something they can use.

I recommend getting a full group willing to run the whole thing, if they can't stay for the whole thing, then might be issues later.

The Ring of Blood: Brokentoe

Clefthoof, straight forwad fight, tank and spank.

The Ring of Blood: The Blue Brothers

Twins (Lost Ones I think), tank and offtank unless MT is 70 or can take quite a beating. Even a pet will do as long as the healer heals it. Otherwise, tank and spank.

The Ring of Blood: Rokdar the Sundered Lord

Rock Giant. He has a knockback and hits a bit hard. Otherwise, tank and spank.

The Ring of Blood: Skra'gath

A Voidwalker, aggro difficult to maintain, I am not sure why, he will randomly go after other people in the group. Otherwise, tank and spank.

The Ring of Blood: The Warmaul Champion

Etheral. This is probably the most difficult fight. He has mortal strike which hits for quite a bit (this nerfs ALL heal effects for those who aren't sure), a specialized healer is highly reccomended. He also charges people at random (little damage) and goes right back to the tank. This also has a stun effect when he charges you. So healer don't be the furthest away or you will be stunned.

The Ring of Blood: The Final Challenge

Basic fight. He's a Shaman, someone should be on totem duty (instant cast/hunter). His shocks hurt mildly. He DOES heal at least once, He is immune to counterspell and silencing shot group.

He resses once and you have to fight him again. Otherwise, he's a fairly easy fight.

The healing mace for paladins, you get a polearm which is way better in sethekk halls.

A hunter would go for the 2H warrior axe ? <I think not ! hunters can and should use weapons in both hands.

The fist weapon is great and suits a hunter just fine :)

As a hunter, I did this at 70, got about 18g each time (a few more gold than the normal pre-70).

The Terokk Quill 2H from Sethekk Hall quest is very nice…I hope to get that eventually, so I didn’t choose the Honed Voidaxe. Instead, I chose the hand weapon because getting to 70 and Blade’s Edge (haven’t tried Netherstorm or SMV), there were no other decent hand weapon rewards! And I had always wanted to use hand weapons, even before TBC when there really were limited hand weapons. So a 2h sword or polearm will most likely be replaced by 70..even at 65 the adamantite cleaver is a good option...but these blue hand weapons are still not very common.

That was my reasoning for taking the hand weapon. I may choose it again on my rogue…just because while this is a great dagger reward for 65, I know I’ll upgrade daggers too, including some with +crit.

Did it easy, we had me (War)66, Lock66, Shaman65, pally69, priest70. + a 70war 70 lock and 70 hunter from the pallies guild help us. did it in 20 mins, due to all the 70's.

Tried this last night with our static party. Our group consisted of the following:

65 Protection Warrior (myself)
65 Affliction Warlock
65 Retribution Paladin
66 Holy Priest
66 Beastmaster Hunter

It was everyone's first time except for the Warlock and Paladin and there was some doomsaying about our chances. We breezed through everything up to the big guy himself and then wiped on some unfortunate damage spikage after he ressed himself. Dusted ourselves off and went back and annihilated him. This is made a lot easier by staying calm and having a group you're comfortable with (like all things are). For me, it was a simple matter of using spell reflection at the appropriate times, shield block up constantly, and when he ressed himself I slammed shield wall with full rage in order to give myself a 15 second virtual damage immunity. Tough fight, probably our toughest so far (we haven't entered Auchindoun as a group yet), but certainly not impossible. My only regret is that there aren't really any snazzy rewards here for prot warriors. Voidaxe is still fun to look at. :)

ok i just saw the axe from this quest i was like OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG i look it up i go to the place were to start the quest thres a group there they ask me to tank i said ok i asked them to help with hte quests after for me and they said ok after dieing a number of times we did it they hunter got the axe now it was my turn...i say ok can i repair fisrt they all leave...i wasted time helping htem thinking they were gonna help me after because they said they would
and they leave...my repair bill was 7g not to bad but still tats money wasted for nottin

well it took us less than 20 mins to do

only person who died when we did this was me because the druid dont know how to heal

but it was a easy quest

i gonna try to get me guild to help me do it we should do good

Something that A lot of people don't know of (as far as I can tell) is that if you tag him with Mortal Strike, Aimed shot, or a 5-stack of wound poison just before he dies, he'll only rez with half health. So it'd be nice to have an MS warrior, Hunter with some proficiency with MM, or a rogue in your group.

Makes the fight a wee bit easier.

When his 2nd phase enrage says "Damage increased by 100." It means 100%. On top of the +50% attack speed. So if you're a warrior tanking this, this is the time to use Shield Wall. Shamans could use nature resist and fire resist to help mitigate his spells.
If the group fails, he'll go out on a rampage and aggro to other players waiting near the arena.
