This is really great for rogues. you can get the gloves ASAP for the deadly throw bonus, instead of wasting abit of honor for gladiator's, etc. most pieces are easy to obtain too, looks like we wont have to deal with dying in AV cause of our leveling greens for too long...

While some Rogues are bashing this set, you hit the nail on the head. The set is designed for Fresh 70 Rogues entering BG's. This will definitely give you surviability as you collect your S1 gear or Arena Gear.

While the individual pieces all list honored reputation with their particular faction as a requirement, many are listed under faction reward lists in the revered category. The final word may be up to blizzard, as the patch has not gone live yet, but it's easy to get confused as to which it actually is for those of us not on the PTR.

While this gear is cheap (so far) and fairly easy to qualify for -- it really isn't any better than the gear you would get by questing from 60 to 70. In fact, I'd say for PvE it isn't as good. But if you want to grind your levels, not do quests and PvP all the time... then this gear is a good option.

A bit disappointing to see this has the old Rogue PvP set bonus of -1s on Gouge cooldown, which is completely worthless. Hopefully before it goes live, the set will be changed to +10 energy, as right now every Rogue will be better off grinding honor for the 35 res of the Glad 2pc bonus.

This set's a great starting set if it's all obtainable at Honored, as most fresh 70 rogues will be honored with most if not all five factions. As if it were to be obtainable at Revered, you'd probably have to farm a couple o' days to obtain it, while a s1 honor piece is easily obtainable in a few days of casually PvPing.

Very promising set for my new rogue (hit 70 2 days ago).

Obviously gladiator's is FAR superior for ARENAS, but it takes time to get Glad. A lot of people don't enjoy grinding BGs for 100k honor with 6.5k HP (that's how much my rogue had right when he hit 70).

This set lets you take on the scrubs a lot better in 70 BGs, a very nice addition for alts and new players imo.

Plus, 5/5 anything makes your character look much better than random 60 something greens. :P

It's good for those (me) who can't be bothered/have not got the time to get Glad stuff. My DPS gear gets me just under 7k health. This gear gemmed out gets me over 9k, helps with BGs a lot and also helps out when I do get in the arena :)

Had pretty poor gear leveling from 60-69 so far with bad drop rates etc so im in blues and greens.

This set works out great as ive bought 3 of the items already at 69 - Gloves, Helm and Shoulders. these 3 are from Cenaron Expedition, ThrallMar and Keepers of time which are pretty easy factions to get rep for as thrallmar an CE are the 2 starter zones for outlands plus the 6 instances to pick and choose from which all give rep for that faction.

Shatar isnt as easy as the above as TK instances are level 70 (unless your druid with your flying form ;) ) but then again terrokar quests help with rep quite well.

Lower city can be gotten from Auchidon instances and again terrokar quests, one more SL or AC run and im probably honoured.

Will help me make fresh start in lvl 70 pvp especially as they have a little bit of resi on them. buying these and saved my 30k honour for MH + OH s1 weapons. now to decide what gems to get

To be fair i reckon most people will ding 70 and be honoured with nearly all factions.been buying most iotems for 10-14g so far - bargain! so even if you do replace them 1 week later with s1 epics who cares it isnt much money to be fair

I collected the set for the looks, i get so tired of looking like im wearing a quilt. Im new to PvP, so this works nicely.

All stats aside, can anyone recommend boots?

Any GM gear that you have, since they are exact duplicates, will not match with this gear to get you the set bonuses.

To complete a starter PVP set you may want to consider the following:
The Master's Treads (BoE world drop boots)
Shadowstalker's Sash (Halaa PvP reward belt)
Necklace of the Deep (BoE JC crafted neck with gem sockets)
Delicate Green Poncho (2 person Nagrand quest reward)
Mark V's Throwing Star (soloable Netherstorm quest reward)

The reputation requirement is Honored and factions you need are:

Sha'tar - Legs
Keepers of Time - Shoulders
Thrallmar/Honor Hold - Hands
Lower City- Chest
Cenarion Expedition- Head

Total Gold to purchase the set is about 85G.

To buy the items go to the respective Faction Quartermasters.

Remember, u can get rep with sha'tar turning some Sunfury Signets, Arcane Tomes, etc (Scyer) Mark of Sargeras, Fel Armaments, etc (Aldor)
And, when u are 5999, u can go, kill 1 mob of ony of the Tempest Keep instances and ur going to reach honored...
If i get scared that u dont get Rep, u get rep, but it doestn shows in the Combat Log, just see ur reputation, (u), and u will see that u are getting rep.

Sha'tar - Legs
Keepers of Time - Shoulders
Thrallmar/Honor Hold - Hands
Lower City- Chest
Cenarion Expedition- Head
U NEED to get HONORED to buy the pieces, i think, use the pieces.

What sort of stats do you have with this set plus leveling gear when you just hit 70? Like stamina, AP, and crit would be useful. Thanks.

When i dinged my rogue to 70 i had no idea about this one. then i looked on rogue sets at this search and noticed you could buy it for gold =). Could get 4/5 pieces right away as my rep was high enough with those factions allready. Great for the new dinged before you get your Gladiators. It makes it a lot easier too in AV. Get this set and then get the gladi daggers/swords/maces. I only got the shiv and still i get high in kills.

While this set isn't quite as good as what you would do Battleground's for, it is much better then the normal quest reward armor and it allows the normal Gamer who doesn't have 200 hours to waste in Battleground's to purchase with Honored Rep!
The Resilience alone makes it worth going for and gives you at least a fighting chance against a BG geared enemy. Bad player with BG armor against good player with this armor equals a win for the person with this armor! Otherwise you wouldn't stand a chance with the quest reward armor.

I like this as arena starter gear if you haven't BG'd for the s1 stuff. I personally hate BGs as I always lose and it takes forever, and I'd rather be running instances.

I really love the equip on the gloves, which would really be the only piece of lvl 70 s1 I'd bother to get.

I also love its modeled after the assassination set.

I have the whole Opportunist's Battlegear and agree it's a great start without having to make yourself sick grinding hour's and hour's of honor just to get epic's:) I was wondering if there is a pair of boots avaliable that match the set visually? If anyone could steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated..

remenids me of a time when you didnt see full epics in pvp :) not bad for new 70s but be careful in arena. your probably going to get torn apart. should use that to get glad gear then work into arena. Unless you dont mind loosing

Perfect for those new level 70's who want to get their feet wet with PvP. Gotta start somewhere eh? Going into WSG in full quest greens and blues with NO resilience is just awful. With these, you'll live about 30 seconds longer. ;)

For some reason I'm convinced I saw a vendor selling one piece of this set, so I came here looking for infos about it and now I can't find it in game (checkd all factions vendors). If that's impossible I have no idea where did I see it. Classic tbc 2.5.1
