This is dropped in WC by Mutanus, who appears during the event, where you have to escort and protect Disciple of Naralex (the druid NPC at the beginning of WC).

This event is available only after you have killed Verdan the Everliving (the last big boss).

If your group has time, I suggest that you complete the event, because this short questline provides some nice bonus exp from WC. Quest rewards aren't bad either.

Just remember to clear the beginning area from all the raptors before you start the event.

You'll need to talk to Sputtervalve first, right next to the flight master in Ratchet. They won't have a quest-questionmark, you just have to talk to them. They're at 63,37

They will tell you to talk to Falla Sagewind who is on top of the hill where WC is, at 48,33.

After you talk to Sputtervalve, Falla Sagewind is on top of the mountain due west of Crossroads. If you run west of the town and climb one of the spines on the mountain she is right on top.

3100xp for my level 17 warrior. If you can get someone to help you kill Mutanus it's well worth it.

Its worth more later on. I turned it in at 24 and got 3400Xp from it.

Falla Sagewind is in a little camp near the top of the mountain. 48,33 coordinates. This is the same mountain as the Wailing Caverns "Skull entrance".

I got the quest and everything, and it tells me to go to Rachet and talk to someone, Sputtervalve of course, so i go there... but it wont let me, i right clicked The Glowing Shard and get the quest! whats up with this?

Get the WC quest "Leaders of the Fang," because it's on the way. Finish it. When you've killed all 4 leaders, go back to the entrance to the instance, and talk to the Disciple who's waiting there.

He will ask you to escort him through to the sleeper. Defend him. When the sleeper awakes, make sure you loot the gem "The Glowing Shard" from the corpses left on the ground. CLICK ON IT TO START THE QUEST "THE GLOWING SHARD."

Go to Ratchet. Talk to the guy named "Sputtervalve" who is standing under a little awning by the ocean, inside the town, by the warf. There's no little yellow dot on your minimap, but you can handle it. :-) Very carefully, read everything he has to say. This isn't a regular quest, just a discussion with him.

Then go back to the mountain over WC. Climb up one of the spines to get to the very top of the mountain, and talk to the Tauren Druid at the top. She'll give you the "In Nightmares" quest.

Now, fly to Thunder Bluff. Or walk. Whatever, dude.

Go to the Elder Rise, and talk to Hamuul Runetotem. He's in the big tent, with a yellow dot and a question mark on his head, thank goodness. He'll let you complete the quest. I got a crap pair of boots and 2000 exp. :-)

It was real easy, just a lot of walking. Got 2650 xp for speaking to the tauren in xroads, then 2000 xp from turning that in at Thunder Bluff. Just follow the previous post to the point youll get it.

Speak to Sputtervalve, then the Girl Above WC, then follow the rest.
