Hordies, this is vendortrash or pet food for hunters. The only recipe it's used for, Redridge Goulash, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=2699 , is practically impossible to learn Hordeside (it's an Alliance-only quest reward).

Theoretically, you can buy the recipe off a neutral AH as the recipe is also sold by a vendor in Stormwind and can therefore be bought and put on the AH by an alliance player.

Now way that the Dire Condore has that drop rate on this item. More like 5% (1/20) :'(

Perhaps this has changed since the 2.3 patch... as I do remember this drop rate being very poor prior to that.

I went up to Alther's Mill, north east of Lakeshire, around 50,42. I had 5 Tough Condor Meat drop in 6 kills... very quick drop rate up there... as opposed to south of Lakeshire where not a single meat dropped.

The patch has indeed changed the drop rate as I got three for three on the hill behind Lakeshore.

Where is the best place to go to hunt the condors?

Best place to farm is, oddly enough, the same place you farm the Crisp Spider Meat. Redridge at Alther's Mill. There are many condors and spiders in the area of the mill, there.

52.3/44.7 are accurate Cartographer Coords. for the mill. 48/37 area there are 5 or 6 condors.

And, for those without coords addon- On the map, on the north side of the lake along the dotted line path leading to Stonewatch and Ilgalar, you will see a little house with a sawblade sticking out of it. The condors are up the cliff to the west of there.

This quest is definitely useless.
The Tough Condor Meat is about a 1/10 drop so you will have to kill about 50 Condors to get the 5 you need for the quest.
Once you finish the quest you get a recipe for the Redridge Goulash which unfortunately requires more Tough Condor Meat. This means to get 20 of the meat to make a stack of Goulash for your warrior, you will have to kill nearly 200 Condors.
Do yourself a big favor. Delete this one and find a reasonable recipe.

If you have a look at the benefits this food gives maybe thats why its not so easy to get the meat. +6stamina is usually on level 15 food.

The drop rate for this is much much lower that 35%. I've killed about twenty and received none.

I was having trouble with the drop rate on the dire condors in the south of Redridge. I played a few times down there, searching in vain with maybe a 5% drop rate (multiple spawns and not even enough for the quest!). Tired of messing with it, I logged onto my main and went on a quick killing spree. Same problem in the south, but when I headed north of the Lake, around Alther's Mill, the drop rate increased dramatically with over a 50% drop rate for the meat. My advice is to brave the orc outunners (or wait for someone else to kill them) and make your way to the mill area- it will be MUCH faster collecting the meat and you won't have so many bastard whelps on you either!

*i* haven't been able to find any lower than lvl19; but then, i've only looked to the south of the lake, just east of the road, and points west. when i go farther east, i get toasted. 8(
