Drops off the Dark Keeper. Each time you do this instance or reset it, you have to go the portrait in front of the coffer room. Opening it will tell you the name of the Dark Keeper you need and where he is located. They are usually surrounded by two elite guards. Only one will spawn in an instance; it's a chance which.

Dark Keepers:

Dark Keeper Bethek: spawns inside the vault room as soon as you open the portrait

Dark Keeper Ofgut: makes up one of the groups in General Angerforge's location.

Dark Keeper Pelver: located at the Domicile, towards Pyromancer Loregrain.

Dark Keeper Uggel: quite a close walk; walk outside the vault room and go right to the last room. He is near the entrance where all the golems are.

Dark Keeper Vorfalk: he is in the bar room, the Grim Guzzler.

Dark Keeper Zimrel: situated at the Arena, where the Spectators are.

In case anyone has read the other post and thinks they need to spawn the named and the golems... screw that. Just kill the mobs near the plaque... open it... run back and kill the keeper. Not sure if he spawns anywhere else... but so far in 5 runs he is always in a previously empty room at the top of the stairs.

Then use the key on the Coffer and you are done.

Course if you are going for the heart of the mountain quest... then that's different.

I heard that this key is a universal key. Which can be used and re-used on the regular coffers only being consumed on the dark coffer. Has anyone tried this?

The Key Keepers will only spawn if you look at the picture in the coffer room. The picture will tell were to find the Key Keeper.

There I was soloing BRD, and I went intot the relic coffer room, and though hmm I seem to recall that the coffer here that needs a key from a guy who randomly spawns somewhere in BRD, so I came onto this web page and saw the portrait.

And it said Bethek Stormbrow - his wanderings take him deep within blackrock depths, so I tabbed back here to seee if I could determine where abouts he might be, and then whilst I was tabbed out he and his mates started attacking me - lol.

They killed my pet - but I put them down easily.

I wonder what happens now...
