You can get this without using the meat to trick the Gnoll.

Not true.

I am a lvl 48 rogue. I jumped repeatedly in the very southeast corner of the ruins. I went right over the wall.

No sweat and no fuss.

This can be picked up without having the quest, as long as you can get in without the bait.

The area with the evoroot can be found at coords: 44,10 Feralas.
If you are mage, you can simply blink your way in. If you are not, you need to use the bait that you get from the quest; https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=4041

ZOMG... Just buy the bait(20s) from Gregan Brewspewer @ 45,26 in Feralas and you're DONE in like 10 seconds. There is NO point in jumping around on the the corners of walls to do this quest.

I love all the tributes in this game. Kudos to the blizzard team! In one of the early dungeons in the origional Legend of Zelda, you had to use bait on the monster who said 'grumble grumble' so that he would move away from the door. It was his stomache that was rumbling.

Way better way to get your Evoroot, if your a mage. only works for mage so yeah just blinki throu the wall and u get in the room u get the evoroot and just go out throu the crack in the wall :O) isnt that easy

You need to go to Gregan Brewspewer at 44,25 in Feralas, buy the bate from him and go to the small building at 44,11 and use the bate to draw the guy away from the front of the wall.

Some say you can just jump over the way from the back, but mages can just blink through the wall and grab the Evoroot.

Take the Evoroot back to Gregan Brewspewer and your done.

I used the mount to jump in. In about 15 tries I did. Use break in the north wall. Accurate position your mount on the edge of the border (switch to the walk mode using "/" key) then turn on run mode and jump in. gl! =)

i can get up to the little ledge but i cannot get into the actual building... dont know what u guys are talking about because you cannot jump sideways through the wall.. please explain in more detail how to get in =(

The best bet to retrieve the evoroot is to purchase the bait from from Gregan. Once you have the bait place the bait below the steps to draw him out. Once he runs down the wall will disappear and you can walk right in and get your evoroot.

The correct location, only a couple coords off >.< is actually 44:10 (in feralas) and the item you get off him, evoroot, is for a quest chain started at un'goro crater... hope this helps at all =)

Go to the back wall. Get on the middle of the ledge. Run at the tree and jump. When jumping, use the mouse to turn to the right. You will practically fall inside. Get the root and split.

i used my mount in the back to jump in easier then with ur person and really wasy with taurens on kodos :)

An easier way to get to this instead of jumping over the wall, is to go to the quest guy first since you have to walk right past him anyways. He will sell you bait for 20s. Go to the place where the Evoroots are and but the bait on the ground. The guard will walk away, leaving the gate open and you can walk right in. :)

I picked up this stuff in Ferelas, just walked right into ruin. Can't sell it to a vendor, don't have a quest, NOW WHAT?
Oh, and I'm questing in crater now, no quest given there either. Replies appreciated.

this quest is started by finding a boat in the crater, then its a big quest chain that leads to this....

All that's really needed to figure this out is the images above and the coordinates 44,9. Like the image above indicates - go around the back of the ruins and jump through the back.

Ok, I had the bait but I attempted to walljump the front gate guarding the evoroot and I did it easily lol. I didnt even use the bait. You can walljump it easily if you have the skills to do so woot.

Perhaps it's a recent patch, but there is no block on the entrance to the "building" currently. I walked up the front steps, Collected the Evoroot, and walked out. That simple. No jumping/crag-jumping etc. involved. No need to buy bait, parachute off one of the twin Colossals or use Noggenfogger Elixir.

Kind of makes me get misty-eyed for the good old days of challenging play redoing these quests which Blizz has nerfed into easiness oblivion.

ummm I don't know what wall you guys are talking about, I just walked right past Milbon, through a wide-open doorway and got the evoroot. I didn't even know what it was for 'till I read these posts, so I wonder if maybe once you get the quest the wall is blocked. Strange I know, but I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to come up with a trick like that. Oh btw 50 troll shaman.

As of June 9 2008 this quest is bugged, but in a good way, I just walked in and grabbed the evoroot lol. then for good measure i put the bait down anyway and he didnt even more for it, gj Blizz thanks for simplifying an already retardedly easy quest

Wished I had read your instructions sooner... the jump WAS simple. But not the way I had been trying for the last ten minutes. Saying to aim towards the tree once on the ledge was perfect. Thank you.

The jump was so simple. Anyone who has played this game should have been able to find an easy jump into this place. No need for mount or anything I got this jump on my first try. Go onto the ledge then jump into the crack. I do not see why anyone should be spending 10 minutes to jump in. You are probably a key turner that can't even kite. This is probably 1 of 15 jumps to get in here...

The quest has been changed. Simply right click on the bait and leave on the steps in front of the mob. He leaves his post and the door behind him opens. Quickly go to one of the pedestals (there are 3 of them) and right click on one of them. Leave quickly, and watch out for the level 50 mobs as you return. Good Luck and Stay Safe.

I'm a level 33 Warlock and I jumped the crack thingy. I made it inside and grabbed the Evoroot. That one wolf mob killed me, and then I returned and tried to get another one, but it turns out I can only hold one. Can anyone tell me, do you need to have a certain quest in order to pick one of these up? Or can the Evoroot be picked up by anyone, regardless of level? Because I was able to take one with me.

is this a specific quest ? as I went to the ruins .. wall was down .. got in .. took the evoroot .. wall went up .. got out .. and don`t know it's use :P
P.S.: Gregan Brewspewer doesn`t have more then a "hi" for me .. :)

This item does not drop off of a mob. Rather, it is quested. Mr. Brewspewer will sell you a piece of bait to distract the Gnoll that is in front of a building located in the Ruins of Ravenwind. This is in the north end of Feralas.

By the bait, and place it in the vicinity of the Gnoll. This will casue him to move and a door to oopen to the building. There are 3 sets of Evoroots there in case you have a group of folks that need it.

Window stays open for a bit, so anyone can enter while the gnoll is chewing on the bait.

Return the Evoroot to Mr. Brewspewer and get the Elxir.

well i found the compound during my searching for other quest items.
as a mage. i just stood in front of the wall near the gnoll.
blink
poof i was in.
took the root and blinked out.
really fun.
then i looked what it was used for :)

Btw, some additional info, Mr. Brewspewer is located just off the main road to the west if you are approaching the Twin Colossus peaks from the south. Just before you get to the first peak, you will see a beaten path, follow it up and around to Mr. Brewspewer's camp. Animals will aggro there so be prepared.

Or you could just do this, at the back of the building is a crack and a ledge you can get onto

I managed to time it just right and jump onto the pillar and walk into the room, nothing special required.

Prolly not sposed to be able to do it but I did.

- Go to Gregan Brewspewer (45,25).
- He request one "Evoroot", but he doesnt give you a clue about where to get it.
- Buy one "Bait" from him.
- Go to Miblon Snarltooth (44,10). He says "grumble, grumble", just click the Bait and click the floor beside him. You can get evoroot from behind him.

I had a hard time jumping into the crevis behind the building. For kicks I decided to relish a novel thought......use your mount! It works, the 60%+ inc in speed is all thats needed :D
