I don't know why you'd want to.. it might allow you to better setup to fight phalanx though..

Alternatively you can complete Mistress Nagmara's quest The Love Potion. After you've completed the quest you can ask her to open the door for you everytime you're there.

Apparently it can also be pickpocketed from one of the bar members there.

if you cant open the door in the bar, simply wait a few mins for the patrol to open it.

A simpler way is to just go up to Plugger Spazzring and buy 6 ales, give all 6 to Private Rocknot and then run over to the door. The door will open before Phalanx turns aggro, and you can just walk through it without ever fighting anyone at all. And it doesn't require stealth either. Just make sure you're well into the next room when Phalanx gets mad. ;)

I was here reading how to get through and apparently once you kill the top half of the bar they come to investigate and open the door for you, just be ready :D.

Bring a rogue and pickpocket Plugger Spazzring .. run quickly to the door and enter it.. because the whole bar will aggro.

If you don't have a Rogue .. just try and kill Plugger :) good luck

lol, I just killed Plugger. But he DIDN'T have the key this time. Whole bar aggroed and we managed to run out, everyone died but we had a shaman to reincarnate, so he reinced, Ressed everyone, except one who was still in the bar. When he ran out everyone aggroed yet again, and another wipe was due. Group disbanded.. lol

So, just saying: BRING A ROGUE!

you don't have to kill the whole place, just buy the drinks from vendor, then give to the dwarf nearby. he gets drunk and opens a keg that blows the door open. then u gotta kill phalanx and u get through :)

Is the key soulbound? Will the rogue who pickpockets it be able to give it to someone else?

It is not soulbound and can be traded, but it can only be used once.

Either bring a rogue and pickpocket the barman,

or

bye the ale and drop it in front of the door, then fight the golem then the door opens.

Pickpocket plugger and run to Phalanx. The whole bar will aggro, but on our run, only 1 of us got killed. So dont attack, let them attack you, they kill one of you and if u res him, u can open the door with the pickpocketed key. (strangely they didn't kill the rogue :?)

I did throw 4 kegs of beer in front of the mobs surrounding Plugger, to distract the mobs, but I don't think that's necessary

A good rogue can sneak all the way to the bar alone, pickpocket the innkeeper and sneak back out of the instans again. I have done this with my rogue several times and gotten keys for all who wanted one in my guild.

Wait a few hours between each stealth run in there, so the instans is reset, then you can get as many keys as you and your guild needs.

BTW it's not just ANY dwarf nearby. It's Private Rocknot that you have to get drunk.

Before I read this page I was down in BRD and threw the beer at Private Rocknot. This didn't work so I guess I have to talk to the guy (even though everyone keeps saying "don't talk to anyone". I guess I may talk to Rocknot, right?). The comments for Phalanx mention that Rocknot gives you 3 mini quests so you obviously have to talk to him. And give him the beer via the quests, not throw them at him? Correct?

Please don't hesitate to explain this thorougly, this is not as self evident as it looks. There are tons of things you can do wrong down there and several ways you can succeed. I've been in many groups who have wiped there and were stuck afterwards.

The best way is to get rogue to pickpocket Plugger. Be careful though because he'll yell that his pockets were picked and you have to kill the 55 elite guard to ge through to the door.

Have a rogue pickpocket the key in a SEPERATE instance then rejoin group and use key in your instance. This allows swift and efficient movement through BRD.

PS. LvL 57+ rogue is best bet for efficient stealthing to bar.

actually if you're like me and didn't read the comments before u tried....if the phalanx is there and u cant get passed him and are a rogue and trying to solo by, then just start running towards him/evasion/run past him/mind don't fall off/then vanish quick...he's goes back to his spot and doesn't hit u :)

Dont Listen to any of this Crap above.
Here's the Real Answer.

Go to Rocknot in the Bar. He's the dwarf on the opposite Side of Phalanx.

Talk to him and he will give you a Quest.

Go buy 2 Dark Iron Ales and DONT THROW THEM ANYWHERE.
THEY ARE QUEST ITEMS.

And talk to Rocknot to Finish the Quest.

Thank to you people i bought all the Ales and kept thronwing them On the Ground. You gave me a lot of trouble due to this.

I didn't try what the person above this comment said because I wiped out from listening to the others above him. He may be right. But the way I got through is simply completing the "Love Potion" quest. Get to the "Grim guzzler" except the "Love Potion" quest, hearth out, go to Un'Goro (fill given vile in pool on top of waterfall), Azshara (be prepared to kill 5 lvl 54 elite giants) and buy 4 gromblood. Go back to the Succubus, give her the ingrediants and suggest she have alittle private time with that Knot guy she likes. Works as good as a key from then on.

If you stay in the bar for 10 or so minutes not knowing what to do a Firegaurd and three anvil rage officers will enter the bar through the door. My group didn't know what to do and this ended up happening. We kill the 3 officers and the firegaurd and the door was open.
