As of 2.3, it turns green much earlier, 265 I think. Pretty sure you need to fish to get to the 285 cooking needed for Desert Recipe now :(

Along with Tender Wolf, turns gray at 275. Fishing recipes or the run tum tuber from DM are the only ways to get from 275 to 285 right now, then the quest recipe for Desert Dumplings becomes availble.

If like me you are trying to level cooking while leveling your account, don't fish, don't have toons at 70, good luck finding anyone willing to run DM or find the fish on the AH. I've spent a week checking the AH for fish to get 10 skill points - no luck. I'm now through Hellfire and have no way to skill past 300 to use the meat and recipes I am getting without wasting time (yes - to me a waste of time) with fishing.

Blizzard has said that this gap was a mistake with the 2.3 patch and new non-fishing recipes will be added in 2.4. I'm sure it would have been real hard for them to put the skill tables back the way they were pre-2.3 in one of the interim patches. Thanks Blizzard, way to go.

This was bothering me so I found this recipe at 34,53 HORDE, in Felwood. Bale sells this item not the other guy, who is a weapon smith

With patch 2.3, Bliz reduced the leveling potency of this recipe. I am at cooking 254 and made 19 of em...didn't gain a point.

Located off on a side dirt path from the main road, too.
Yes, near the FP, "Mishellena" is the Flightmaster and "Malygen" the General Goods vendor sells the recipie. Mylini Frostmoon is the Weapon Merchant there, too.
This is located prior to this tunnel that is well... hellacious to get through. I'm a Hunter, level 50, so, was thrilled not to have to go through the tunnel, because I just wanted to get at the Monster Ommelet!
So, if you get mangled in that tunnel, you can come to Mylini and get your armor sorted. Happy Brunching! Bring along some Pino Noir! The food is Mmmaaavveeellloussssss! <grin!>

waste of money to make these things, i remember it was hell to grind the giant eggs for the artisan cooking quest, so instead of using them to make this, sell them on the AH. i made a bit of money doing this cuz there are some mobs that are higher lvl that drop the eggs with a much higher drop rate than the roc's that the questgiver tells you to farm for them.
