This is a good item to farm when you are dealing with the Nefarion encounter at 25%, to help minimize the amount of UD Structures he calls forth. These items are also used in 2 quests, Collection of Goods and Houses of the Holy.

Paladins also need this for their epic pally mount. you need 5. so if you you are going to hit 60 soon and would like to get a jump start on your mount dont wait, get it soon...

Another fun thing is Nightbane adds. If those are giving you grief, you can just group them up, raid uses these + 2secs of AoE and they are all dead. Dangerous for your clothies though, with the highest spelldamage they'll have the most threat. AoE taunts would help :P

As of 2.3.x, the "good" crates sparkle making it easier to skip any trash blocking a "bad" crate.

This is a good chunk of damage, is instant-use, does holy damage, is increased by sanctity aura, and by extension must have its threat increased by improved righteous fury. Given that you can walk around most of the trash in Stratholme, farming some up for Mt. Hyjal - as a DPSer, after all it is instant to use, but especially as a protection paladin - isn't a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all.

This is hot. I used this on the skeletons that rush you after you kill Rammstein. 20 skeletons (conservative) in the 10 yard radius at 500 damage per skeleton for a total of 10000 damage in one second.

Is there a cast time on this or only the cooldown?

This item is MADE for the baron run. If you've tried and tried and can't make it, try stocking up on holy water from your "practice" runs. On the serious run, SPAM it EVERY cooldown you get!

Holy water stacks to 50. The cooldown is 1 minute, and you have 45 to make it to baron. If everyone in your group has one full stack, you can decimate Stratholme by spamming these.

5 people dropping the holy water bomb will do 2190-2810 AoE damage. This is enough to practically obliterate entire pulls in one fell swoop. Keep using the holy water, and you should have no problem making it to baron in time.

If farming holy water isn't your thing, just check what cooldowns that it's shared with. There's still crystal charge and lots of dynamite at your disposal.

Even more importantly, these can be used for Nefarian's bone constructs, though most people will never see them.

Yeah i tried using the Holy Water for Jindo in ZG. It worked on the pit of skullies and the shades. Very useful, stock up!

I only get plagued rats and bugs from the supply crates in Strat UD. Thottbot says its a 127% drop chance or something like that from supply crates. Anyone know why after several Strat runs I can't seem to get any of these?

I'm a level 60 Pally, and i need 5 of these dumb things for my epic mount quest. Are any of these crates far enough away from aggro that i can go in solo to get to them? I don't care if i die a couple times on the way.......

You should try these,you need to go near them and only press "v" and youll see the STATUS BARS of thr rats if there is any,if they dont show up then you can open it :D

As the Pally stated above it is no walk in the park, i went through over a hundred crates and nothin i even went as far to ticket a gm cause of the crappy drop rate, this is the most annoying thing i have ever done in wow and like the pally said we wiped many times just to get the vials.

I tried soloing this as a 62 Pally. I used an invisiblity potion to reach the first crate and was able to make the second crate too! Unfortunately, the first two crates are both dummy crates; the first proper one is the second one down on the left near the signpost and this one takes a while to open.

I can use Devine Shield but I can't open the crate with it enabled. I've thought about target dummies but they won't last long enough. I tried it with another Pally - me pulling all the mobs and then hitting Devine Shield and him opening the crate but as soon as I hit DS, they all attacked him. It nearly worked though, he had it half way open.

We've just spent every evening this week farming Holy Water - two lvl 62 Retribution Pallys - and we've finally got them all. Very frustrating. We opted for the right hand path so after taking out the first group of five or six, there are two groups directly behind; we take the right group every time. This way we get to open the three crates that usually (not always) appear on the right; which includes the one just around the corner near to the gate.

We thought that the first crates (left and right) were always dud but they're not - it's totally random and I did get a drop out of the first crate on the right. Another thing that we did was a self-sacrifice in order to identify the dud crates. This involves trying to open as many crates as possible using bubble, target dummies, invis potion, etc before dying. If we managed to identify a genuine one then we would fight our way to it after re-entering the instance, otherwise we hearthstoned back, got fixed, waited an hour and came back to a reset instance. Hope this helps!

I needed 5 of these things for the pally epic mount quest...as do a lot of you.

What a pain in the ass!

Getting a group together to go to Stratholme has been the hardest part of the quest so far. Especially since once i hit 62, Strat now longer shows up as an option in my LFG system. Stupid.

Anyway, i finally got a group together. 2 of us pallys looking for H20. The 3 others just wanting to do Strat. It was a horribly unorganized group from the very beginning. But, luckily for me, nobody understood that everything was IN THE CRATES! I kept saying "roll for the crates", but nobody was paying any attention to me. So i took them. All of them! 5 holy waters within 20 minutes (and at least 4 wipes). Then as soon as everyone's armor started turning red...i jumped on the bandwagon and disbanded.

Lesson to be learned: Know what the hell you are doing before going in! This other pally had been on 3 or 4 Strat runs without getting a single holy water. Why? Because he's dumb and i took them all from him.

Soloable as a 62 Prot spec Pally. You have to watch that you don't get any spectral citizens in with your pulls and that you don't get adds. I use Exorcism to pull since it has a long range, but Avenger's Shield would work even better if you're sure there's no citizens in the way, but it's mana costly.

You'll have to utilize all of your abilities to do this solo. Divine Shield then bandage. Do not Holy Light, that eats precious mana. Keep Judgement of Light and Seal of Light up at all costs, pop Holy Shield every time Redoubt procs. Do not use Consecrate, it's a mana hog. Holy Wrath is very mana efficient vs the groups of 7 or 8 that you face at a time, but only if you have a large mana pool to begin with. Keep Imp. Righteous Fury up for the 6% dmg reduction, Ret Aura for much needed DPS and Imp. Blessing of Sanctuary for dmg reduction and reflected dmg. The Charm of Alacrity is invaluable here as well if you have it (you do have it by now, right?). Be sure to kill the casters first as the magic will eat you up faster than the melee and also so you can alternate between Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection since the magic will ruin your bandage attempts with BoP on. Remember to pop potions long before you need them so that when you do really need them the cooldown will be almost, if not completely over.

Following this, you should be able to solo enough crates for your Epic mount.

Just got my waters about a week ago. I was 52 at the time, and had my 70 prot warrior friend clearing for me. The drop rate in the crates is about 1 in 7-8 crates. The good thing is, all of the successful crates I looted had 2 waters in it, so I only had to find 3 "real" crates. The whole run took 2 hours though with me healing. This is definetely the most painful reagant to farm for the paladin quest. I would recommend getting a high level friend or two to help, rather than trying to get a pug.

took like 30 mins with a 63 holy paladin and 70 mage i recomend taking a mage with you to AOE all the mobs. EZ mode

There is a trick for dwarves,

Put on ur find treasure,
When u see a yellow dot on ur screen open this one,
The others have just beetles and stuff in it.

This way it's lots easyier, no clearing mobs u don't have to clear.

One way to save time is to bring along a 70 stealth-capable friend (or dual box as I did), enter the instance with your stealthie and up to any of the crates you intend to loot - rogue or a druid in cat + prowling get to within 10 yards and it will tell you whether or not it is trapped.

I've found that about 75% of the crates are trapped and it's completely random where they are - you might get one good crate right inside the door, might get one halfway through the instance.

Once you know where the good crates are it's a matter of clearing the trash to get to them, in some cases if the crate is too far in it's easier just to reset the instance and start again.

Don't forget you can only enter 5 instances an hour. :)

Well, it was for me at 63. Was able to avoid aggro relatively easily, even from the first group, and with some careful stepping around I could make it to both the two first boxes with no aggro from anything except maybe a trap if you managed to get one. Run out, reset, repeat. Took me 30 minutes to get the 3 remaining I needed. Of course, I may have been lucky.

Hi to all, can someone tell me do i have some chance to get Holy Water with 60 lvl. And what is best group for Stratholme, lvl and class?

We have a group of 4 run very smoothly to get 7 x holy water around 1 hr run inside the instance, with 3 times x 2 bottlem, wiped out only two times.

We have lvl 70 pally, lvl 57 warrior, lvl 61 shaman and lvl 58 pally. The wiped out was raising too much aggro so simply move slowly.

Recommend to bring a mage to do aoe after each pull can save your time.

The drop rate is around 1 out of 3 crate. Fairly good

Paid an Epic lv 70 Shaman 20g for help. He had the key to the back door took about an hour but with a bunch of heals and 1 wipe got my holy water and some good drops.

It seems these things are affected by +spell damage. I get hits with these of over 1000 with aprox +800 spell damage gear equiped. A useful thing to know when soloing strath as a caster type.

I did this as a 63 ret paly with a 64 priest and a 70 hunter and we didn't do anything fancy. Walked through and killed everything and didnt worry about pulling mobs. No wipes. The water dropped about 20% for me.

When the big wave of skellies came out after ramstein, it only did about 110-120 damage to each one.

I'm seeing that most comments are old or relate to non-ClassicWoW experiences. So, I thought I'd note that this is probably not something that can be solo'd as a Paladin trying to get a mount. It may be possible with 2-3, but you'll probably want 4-5 to farm it multiple times.

Why I couldn't solo it -

The first pull is a group of 4 non-elites around level 57, not that hard if you burn some cooldowns
The second pull is 4-5 non-elites and 2 elites at the same level which you might be able to kill in two tries...
... but you can't run out of the instance
... and it's not going to drop even if you get there
... last ditch option was to run in naked and open the crates in a bubble, but you're prevented from opening things while invulnerable

The best strategy is probably to just do strat live with a group.

Or find enough people to go the many mobs on the right side of the instance towards the service entrance/exit on the dead side; reset and repeat as needed.

This unassuming consumable scales 1 to 1 with spelldamage. I've been soloing stratholme on my mage in classic. My holy water hits for 1000+ right now(542 spellpower), and will hit close to 1200 if i get my hands on a ToEP. A huge help in nuking down skeletons, only leaving me with melee ghouls to kite. Who knew spellpower is actually good for AoEing?
