If you're Alliance, you can get this recipe at Feathermoon Stronghold off the west coast of Feralas.

I just bought this yesterday at the Alchemy trainer in Feathermoon. My alchemy is 285.

...you learn it from the Master Trainer just like low level recipes. The Master Trainer in Stonard teaches it to you (for a cost of course.)

I caught 17 of them in about an hour and a half.... they aren't hard to get, just take a bit of time.

Caught 50 Stonescale Eels and 25 Firefin Snappers in around 2.5 hrs on the Western beach of Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas (Just west of the griffon). My Fishing is 300 + 20 (Big Strong Fishing Pole). I was also using the bauble that gives a 75 boost to Fishing for 10 mins, although it wasn't really necessary.

i cant find this person any where....i searched for "stonard" and all it came up was enemies....is it a trainer..vendor ...or what ><...more info would be nice for the horde that is..

Stonard .. is a city, people. You go to Stonard. In Stonard. Is an NPC. A trainer. An alchemy trainer. Right click on him when your alchemy skill is high enough. He'll let you train the recipe. Grats.

Since 1.10 the supply/demand has skyrocketed on these babies. After the patch I found nothing but WTB stonescale oil/delicate arc converter..so I made some and charged a TON for them.

The eels are a pain to get since you have to fish them up..which makes them more valuable. Hope you all you alchemists plan on making lots of money off this :) I know I am!

Not only is the demand of this item hurting alchemists (raising their skill up making all kinds of high-end defense pots), it also hurts the people that want the pots that can be made.

Should have made a new item/fish to introduce for the epic upgrades imo.

But it does enourage us to fish. With this and the sunday tournies... are the people over at blizzard fishing junkies?

Caught 4 in Booty Bay off the dock, there was a school of them. Once it disappears, ut takes a while to come back .

The Alchemy Trainer in Stonard is named Rogvar. Don't get confused with the alchemy supplies vendor located in a different building.

I was able to get the stonescale oil at 273. It's already grey so I guess you can get it earlier.

Well my brother found 7-10 eels along the coast in schools ;) if u dont use them sell them good cash to get :)

I have seen schools in other places around BB in stranglethorn vale (rivers and western coasline). They aren't always there (like you said the respawn is slow) but you can always stock up on blackmouths, firefins, and greater sagefish while you are looking around.

These go for about 75s each on my server eaaasssyy money... 30s is a bargain somestimes when no one has them on u can sell for up to 20g for 20 fish

You used to be able to make a ton off of these before the expansion came out. Now, however, many people aren't doing the Ectoplasmic Distiller quest anymore. (you can get way better equipment in the first 2 questing areas of Outland) I would guess that the only people using these now are alchemists and they're used to farming materials for themselves.

What is going on with the price? After patch 1.10, the price for Stonescale Oil is skyrocketing on my server (Terenas) and according to Allakhazam. I just sold a batch of 10 for 34g. What's causing demand to rise so dramatically?

Maybe I should be quiet and count it as a blessing, but I am morbidly curious.

Incase you don't read the patch notes Blizzard introduced Eel Fishing Nodes in patch 1.11 making these very easy to catch in a short amount of time. What you're seeing is economics supply and demand. The supply is HUGE making the demand low which means they're cheap and easy to get.

Blizzard has bless those who want to do most parts of the game with the stonescale oil.

I have 300 fishing, and bring in over 400 g a week fishing 3 hours a day.
