The painting is at The Archivist, just to the right after u enter the room. The Archivist is 2nd last boss of Strat Scarlet.

This guy can slay a lvl60 mob in 1 hit, so likely he will take more than one mob with easy at once. If only there was a big, mean outdoor mob I could kite to this guy... ;-)

where is the painting?
ive gone almost all the way through the scarlet area and havnt seen it... isit at the end?

I found the painting with 2 moons when we did a raid into stratholm but I couldn't click on it or anything. Does this have to be done in a 5 man group only? Don't seem like it would need to be unless the archivist drops something that you use on the painting to break it?

It implies in the quest description that it's in the SM side of Strat.

Leave the raid group to loot the painting and rejoin it before you're TP'd out. I know the reward for my 60 Warrior will be the: Ornate Adamantium Breastplate - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17848/level-50-test-gear-plate-paladin-warrior-2

I'm not sure about this but is this whole quest line warrior only? If so I'm pretty sure it's the only reward, if it isn't, then I don't know what the other rewards are.

We did this side in a raid 4 days ago, and members with this quest could not complete it.

Actually this is different than the deeds in Scholo if u do a scarlet run, wait till end have everyone drop out, you can take the painting :D

Are you sure?

It's still a raid even when everyone drops out. You can't backwards convert, otherwise everyone would just take the max through the instance and then everyone could just leave and loot.

We did it yesterday with 3 Pallies, 1 rogue and 1 priest. They really Nerfed this quest.

I was in a raid the other day and made it a regular group after we'de finished, only then I noticed it was in the same room as the Archivist, which I had already put on fire :S (the room). And I think that's why I wasn't able to loot the painting, dunno if that's so but it's my theory for now. Just felt it'd be worth mentioning.

Went there again in raid, dropped out as we'd finished last boss, still werent able to take the darn painting... so I'm clueless.
Fire theory's out though :P

btw; is it a one-time-loot/run or can everyone in group loot it providing they have the q?

People STILL don't know by now that you can NOT do regular quests while in a raid group? LOL

You used to be able to do this, but you can't anymore. I found the same problem with trying to loot the deeds in scholo after a raid group cleaned the place. Guess blizz fixed the bug.

Is the painting a drop, or a pickup item? I did Strat Scarlet, killed the Alchivist, but didn't find it! Give me an answer, thanks.

The paiting is on the wall in the same room as the Archivist on the Scarlet/Live side of Stratholme. When I found it, it was on the R side as you enter the room, near the door (whether it moves or not, I couldn't say...but I doubt it). It's hanging on the wall, as any painting should, so isn't too tough to see.
