you need to have 315 skinning in order to skin onyxia, finkles skinner and the zulian slicer both offer +10 to skinning and there is a +5 skinning glove enchant. she has always dropped betweeen 1-3 scales every time we skinned her.

You need the cloak for one of the bosses who has a nasty AOE flame attack. It prevents you from being "fully engulfed". If fully engulfed, its a 2k DOT on a 5 second tick = youre dead.

If most, if not all, of your raid members are not wearing this cloak your raid WILL wipe in BWL. There is no way your healers can deal with over 6k damage done to everyone in the raid at the same time. Which is what will happen without this item.

You get 3-4 scales per kill so it doesn't take that long to equip 40ppl with the cloaks

Ok, so the Onyxia Scale Cloak is require for half the bosses in BWL for everyone in your raid.

Kill Onyxia, have a 315 skinner, and you'll get 2-4 scales. To get the pattern for the Ony Cloak, you'll need to be a 300 Leatherworker (of any speciality), and complete the Onyxia Head turn-in (if you can't figure out how to get the Onyxia Head... please reroll).

Not only are these cloaks absolutely required for BWL, but the FR on them is great from MC. It's doubtful that anyone will find these on the AH, because any guild that is killing Onyxia, will have plenty of people that need the cloak for their own raid progression.

Also, the Onyxia Breastplate, and the Enhanced Onyxia Scale, are things that Blizzard semi-added to the back-end of the game, but have yet to actually implement.

I hope that clears things up for everyon.

The breastplate is actually a epic mail BP that was added when the game was released. It pretty much sucked, and was later removed from the game.

If you have the old guidebooks from release, it's listed in there.

these scales are NOT BoE

they dont bind at all...... u dont equip the scales so they just dont bind

simple as that
