Obtained from Devilsaurs found in Un'Goro crater. They are easily soloable by a lv60 druid. Just be careful of the Devilsaur's that use fear. My technique is to attack the Devilsaur in bear form then use bash and cast regrowth, then back to bear. You can also use hibernate and then use healing touch.

If you don't want to use the Devilsaur Leather in making items it usually sells well on the AH. I can get around 1G per piece on my server (this will vary depending on your server).

DISCLAIMER: Don't blame me if you die a hundred times and spend 50g on repairs. It's your fault for following my guide!

I'm hunting these for gold on a level fifty-nine enhancement shaman wearing gear that rocked in fourty-nine battlegrounds but now is painfully outdated. Currently using a two-handed axe from a Thrallmar quest, so the Windfuries are uncommon but take out a good chunk of any Devilsaur's health. They can be extremely difficult, and you'll probably die a few times in the process.

My strategy:
1) Throw on a Lightning Shield and make sure Windfury Weapon is active.
2) Lay down whatever totems you like. If you aren't fighting a Tyrant, Stoneskin or Strength of Earth can be useful, otherwise you'll want a Tremor Totem. I recommend using Mana Spring or Mana Tide no matter what kind of Devilsaur it is, because you will most likely run out of mana by the time the battle is over.
3) Get within Shock range, and begin casting Lightning Bolt immediately. Follow up with just one more.
4) Soon as the Devilsaur reaches you, put down a Fire Nova Totem.
5) Stormstrike, Earth Shock, Earth Shock until it's dead. Use Lesser Healing Wave when necessary.

You will want to be extremely paranoid about keeping your health up when fighting either Tyrant Devilsaurs (brown) or Devilsaurs (white), because they can interrupt your vital heals at the most inconvenient time (ie. when you're one hit away from death) by using either Fear or Mighty Blow, respectively.

Other than that, just pray that your Windfury will go off often, and crit even more often. Good luck! :)

On a side note, these go for 2.80g on Ravenholdt US (Horde-side).

I'd like to add, that as bear you can use frenzied regeneration (1500 health or 2000 at level 56) making it rather easy to kill these beasts.

As a druid, I can solo these things without even being hit. Doesn't even use half my mana pool.

I just entangle, spam starfire until it breaks, then repeat. I'm a balance druid, so decent damage on em.

I've killed heaps of these, never seen the leather drop just from looting them. To take the number I have kill, I have made 11 pairs of gauntlets in the past month, and I've skinned every single piece of leather. So I really can't see how you can get it off just looting...

I'm a 20/31 build (with AR) and I take theese guys on quite easy. And while AR and Evasion is on cooldown, you go look for the next one. Make sure to bring a pvp trinket to break the fear at least once.

I solo this fairly easily at 55 (druid). Bear>devilsaur.

If you need a heal, bash + hibernate and there's plenty of time for a full heal and tea and crumpets.

I'm a lvl 46 hunter, I wasn't there by myself, I had one of my close lvl 60 frineds come with me. I only died twice becasue i had a lvl 56 on me and no matter what my friend did it wouldn't leave me alone, I skinned them and got one each time. The only problem we had was not being able to find them but that was mainly because there were two other groups looking for them too. They sell great on server 1stack= 50gold

oh forgot to mention on my other post that the levels and types of devilsaur (Ironhide Devilsaur, Devilsaur, Tyrant Devilsaur, etc.) change on the routes. So one time it's a level 54 Devilsaur, another time it's a 56 Ironhide.

Each of these has their own special thing that they do. I'll update you when I write it down, but here is what I know:
1. Fears you
2. Knocks back
3. Sits there and doesn't do anything special

I would say the Tyrant fear yes.. the Devilsaur plain white ones hit super hard.. and the Ironhide ones are pretty weak actually.. but wont go down as easy

I took on a 54 elite Devilsaur reg and it was still really mean on my bear even when i put my scorpid sting on him... pretty sure he ended up feasting on my bear even after i healed him

i would have to warn people to watch out for mobs by tyrant devilsaurs.. they are my hardest to defeat

My only advice for people doing this, is CLEAR THE AREA. especially with the fear or knockback ones.. I never died to the mob on its own, but you can pick up too many adds and get owned. (Daze ftl)

Feral speced druid, in moonkin gear, balanced these mofos :P

The only thing hard about these guys, are the surrounding mobs. The easiest one, I believe, are the Ironhide Devilsaurs, for they haven't (so I assume they don't) used any knockback or fear techniques. They will always drop devilsaur leather if skinned. The level skinning you need is based on the level of the devilsaur you're trying to skin.

Skinning required = * 5

So basically, to skin every single one, you need at least 275. 270 for the level 54 ones.

If you farm these guys long enough you'll find ways of killing them w/out clearing any surrounding mobs first. All of them have at one point or another a spot where you can pull them safely w/out worrying about other mobs in the area. Just follow them once to see their full path and discover the best place to engage them. This will save you so much time you will have killed your 5th, 6th before the first one had a chance to respawn again. Actually most of em have multiple safe zone spots where they can be engaged w/out adds.

Granted these are elites, I can pretty easily take them down as a 57 feral druid. Just make sure you have your stuns ready to go. It's a good idea to stay in bear form most of the time, except when healing yourself obviously. Using roots and well-timed heals is the key. I've farmed 20 in only a few hours, as well as numerous other rugged/thick leather from killing the adds around it.

just be careful. the walk back to your body in un'goro is unforgiving

2 of us were able to take King Mosh down, me a 60 fury warrior and a 60 priest friend. Was not an easy fight at all. I remember doing it before I had the 40 man gear and it took 5 of us. He is a named elite so it is not wise to under estimate this beast. :)

Half the battle here is the fact that they walk in trails, and your biggest worry is going to be aggroing other mobs. Even though they walk in circles around the map, I seemed to find them most often west of the ridge. Unfortunately this place (halfway between fire plume ridge and western crystal pylon) seems to be where the mobs are the highest level (53-55, not including Devilsaurs) and also, where they're the most dense. If you're about level 53 or 54, you should be able to handle one just barely, provided you don't run into any mobs. Always keep a lookout all around you when you are in this area.

This stuff drops every time you skin one of the 3 different devilsaurs. I just farmed up 22 of these. 21 I had to skin. The last one was a drop. So it can drop, but the rate is less than 5% (based on my 21 kills) In short, if your not a skinner, you will have better luck trying to farm the AH for it.

I attempt to farm these but find it so hard to find one (even with hunter tracking), I believe they fear me :)
Started doing these at 54 (fairly hard then as they move at 150% run speed so kiting can be a challenge) now sitting at 60 hunting these :) Love it! If I could mount one on my head I would :D
The ironhides are heavily armored instead of an offensive ability :P duh! Hence why it takes longer to take them down (hits were about 10% less dmg on them). Hunters will prefer the white ones if any. Their knockback is perfect for slamming more shots into them. Almost got enough for a devilsaur set to sell (need cash for riding skill) and been eradicating any other beast in the area for leather.
Un'goro, one of the best places about :)

Hi ho!

I spent some time to discover the path Devilsaurs walked. After that following and Grinding the Devilsaur Leather was easy. I didn't need to guess anymore where they spawned I just followed my route I marked in my Meta Map AddOn. I Submitted the picture above, took a screenshot from my map and drew lines in map notes and put the starting and end point coords on them. Paths are in different colours and U can see there is 4 of them, atleast what I found. They are easy to follow, where another path ends next path starts close, quite logical if I may say.

But I hope this helps someone who wonders where the paths goes and how many locations they do have.

u can solo farm this if u have a main, have main parked in ungoro aswell as ur skinner, kill it with ur main and loot it, log with skinner hurry to loc and skin it

to craft the devilsaur leggings i need 14 of them and i gues bying them from the AH is not an option since i would end up spending more than i can actually ask for the finite product...in this respect i really think that the prices of reagents is too high. I know u need to kill an elite dinosaur to get one of them but still...who is going to buy your leather at that price? Yes if they forgot to get one and don't want to go back to Un'goro, but how many times that happens?

Good money if you have leatherworking. Then you can farm these and then make Devilsaur leggins.

Anyways, the way to farm these (as a druid)
Actually you can already do this when you got Starfire rank 5, which lvl50 i think, but higher is better of course.

Go sit on 34,41 and wait for the devilsaur to come by (34,41 is a good spot cause he ALWAYS comes by there every 5 or 10 min, and no other mobs are there. so it's a safe spot)

Anyways, once he gets there, first you need to get him to come after you. DO NOT USE A DOT ATTACK, i use faery fire (no damage, but its only for taunting it). You could use hibernate if you want, but you mostly dont have the time to cast it.

When he comes after you, you need to hibernate him. When he is asleep, use starfire, then hibernate again, and walk away a bit from him, then starfire again.
Be sure to stay away from the mobs around (just walk the other way after a while)

Anyways, just keep doing that untill he died. Then skin him. And Viola, a Devilsaur leather.
I guess you could get 14 of these in under 2 hours, so it's good money (Devilsaur leggins sells for 60-70g, so thats over 30g an hour)

Easily soloed as a level 53 Hunter (except for the King, of course :P), so it's not too bad. Only problems I had with it was when a Devilsaur and an Ironhide came at me together with a "Pteradon" (or whatever they're called). :(

I'm so happy that pets don't have durability. :P It does get annoying when the Tyrant (?) fears my cat, though. >_<

Only killed four so far, but I did get a green drop one time. Yay.

I would only recommend hunting for these during non-peak hours. It will be a nightmare otherwise, especially if you can't track them.

Thanks for the info. Make life easy. no agro at level 59 and death wish means no Tyrants are easy.

I'm a combat rogue that would kill (and does) for this set. But is the easiest way really to patrol the Un'goro Crater and "be lucky"? Hits for 400, crits for 800 + fear = bad. :)

I was able to farm this at lvl 53 on my own, is not that hard, at least not for resto druids :P

oh btw, i can craft the devilsaur set if u want it, in Mug'thol PST Tyrd.

im a 60 combat rogue and i can take these down w/o loosing 25% health(end most fights with 75-80%). As an assination//sub i ended most fights using both evasions with 20%. Combat makes thesefights suprisingly easy

Our prices at for it is about 3-4g per one leather. I can get with my 60 lvl hunter about 15 leathers per hour. So its about 45-60g per hour =D
And they are selling really crazy ...

So fear them before they fear you, 60 lock. I find you just kind of stumble upon them since they move so fast.

Anyone know respawn timer on these? If it's low enough, might actually be better to find one and keep it.

As for Classic, it seems that the Devilsaurs are pretty much soloable even by a fairly-geared 57 rogue.
Going hemo is again a good way to derp them, as you can Cheap Shot them, build CP with Hemorrhage, then Cold Blood>Eviscerate.

If you want to max your chances, I'd advise to bring Thistle Tea, some Health Potions also, they come really handy (and I personally had a REAL hard time to kill Tyrant without them), some bandages (to use with Improved Gouge or even Blind) and to have Preparation ready, so you can reset your Evasion.

Don't hesitate to pop Evasion as soon as the devilsaur is out of the Cheap Shot. If you are unsure with the damages, you can also pop a 5 cp Expose Armor. On a higher crit it did roll around 1k9 with my gear, so it's pretty decent.

Aldo Don't be a dummy dumdum like I was, if the fight goes South, Vanish. Don't hesitate to pop Blind, and really, really… Bring potions.

These sell like hot cakes! Its nice being a warlock and farming these. The only competition on my server are other warlocks, hunters and mages . They all die to me so i always secure the area ;)
