I can confirm you can get this scepter back if you've lost it by returning to Celebras the Cursed and killing him. Celebras the Redeemed then appears as a spirit and he will make you a new staff.

The Scepter of Celebras will teleport players into inner Maraudon, in the Earthsong Falls area.

The Scepter comes in handy when you want to do "Princess Runs", in other words killing Princess Theradras by not having to run through any of the Purple/Orange entrances.

Forming the Scepter requires a few steps:

Talk to Cavindra which is located in the Orange area. She will give you a quest, Legens of Maraudon
Enter Orange side and kill Noxxion and loot the Celebrian Rod
Enter Purple side and kill Lord Vyletongue and loot the Celebrian Diamond
Kill Celebras the Cursed and redeem him, then talk to him for further instructions

N.B.: The quest is available at level 41

Whenever I try to use this, I get the message "requires portal of muaradon" has anyone else ever encountered this? What is it that I am doing wrong?

You must be on the portal (which is found by following the path in between the red and purple areas) in order to use it, and--like the Scarlet Key--you can use it forever.

standing next to the now redeemed celebras and all he does is talk about something.. i cant get any quest from him for scepter... where does this chain start and how can i get him to give it to me? (baby..uh huh uh huh!)

now i am not 100% on this but i believe that if you talk to the dryad in Maraudon orange she will give you another scepter, it is the same as a hearthstone or any other BoP item you get thru a quest, like the Onyxia key, you talk to the right NPC's in the game and they will give you new ones.

After you get the two halves, and you defeat (redeem) him, keep talking to him. He will lead you to the alter or stone. Keep talking to him. He will say some more stuff. Keep right clicking on him til you see the scepter in your possesion. I stopped one click too soon because my group was getting really antsy to go kill the princess. I did not get the scepter, and now I don't think I can.... :(

Ok here is how to use this Scepter of Celebras. When you enter Maraudon - first landmark is the two-flight switchback stairs. Once at the bottom - you will see the purple area on your left and the orange area on your right. There is a passageway in the middle with two Centaur statues - go down that passageway and follow it until it deadends. You will see the Spirit of Kolk - <The First Kahn> and behind him is the square portal area with lamps on the four corners. Good luck)

No. U can. just speak with Celebras again and tell him that u lost one.

You have to use the scepter in one of the Maraudon portals. When you get into the area, make your way down to the place where you can either go left into the purple section or right into the orange one. Go in the middle to where the first Khanh is. Behind him is a little shrine on the floor. That's the (one of?) portal you're looking for.

Anybody know where you need to be to use this? tried this everywhere I could think of...It says "Requires Maraudon Portal"

If you deleted or lost the scepter you can just talk to Celebras the redeemed to get it back but you have to defeat him before you can talk to him again.

It's totally fine to discard it. You can simply get a new one by talking to Celebras the Redeemed.
