Been farming for this for a while. Will be nice for my pvp set since f***ing Vectus is never going to drop dark advisor's pendant. =.= +shadow dmg > crit for priests in pvp, since once you're in shadowform only mind blast can crit.

A great caster necklace, with a horrid drop rate. Killed hydrospawn 11 times now with 2 rogues and 2 shamans 0 drops :D

EDIT: Been 18 runs now, no drop. Might not be worth your while trying to get this...

Its a 16% drop rate...the stupid channeling staff has dropped twice from lethtendris and its a 5% drop rate. I've run DM east now at least 20 times and havent seen this drop once. Has anyone gotten this recently? (After 8/29/05)?

I got this neck on my paladin. That 1% crit helps so much for my healing. This is clearly a paladin necklace.

Actually, no one else in my group wanted it, and I needed a neck with +int on it for MC, so hope it makes you all feel better that haven't seen it drop in 20 runs :)

Awesome neck, probably the best blue for mage. also great for lock or priest but like someone else said they might prefer +shadow dmg.
got it on probably my third kill of hydro, so dont't give up hope if he keeps dropping greens, although I can understand how frusturating that can be.
btw ran with 60 hunter, 2 58 rogues, 57 priest and me, 60 mage, and it was the smoothest east run i've had. proves that dm east truly is dm easy.

Well, someone in my group did, and won over two others who could have used it as a significant upgrade. He said it was for his "crit gear." That's just greedy.

This guy can be easily 3 manned prolly even 2 manned. Anyway we did it with 60 mage 60 priest 60 warrior. Just go in thru center area, enter instance and drop off ledge.Mages and priests can slowfall while warrior drops in and picks up aggro (if any). You will prolly have to kill a few mobs in the courtyard area but easy. Just avoid all the patrols u can and u can sneak right in and kill him very easily. I did it for my water quest and will be going back for this necklace. Hope this helps. =D

I 2 man'd Hydrospawn today. Im a paladin, and my friend is a warrior, it was a tough fight, but we managed to kill him.
Then this neck dropped. Didnt really want it, but got it on greed anyway.

I only killed the Hydrospawn once, for the Crystal Water quest. This dropped.

As for the difficulty in beating the Hydrospawn...

Well, me (a positively awful Mage who had just hit 60) and a friend of mine (another 60 Mage, possibly the single best PvP Mage I've ever met) managed to solo DM East up to the point where the Hydrospawn was by sneaking past most mobs. Then the Hydrospawn pwned us repeatedly until we managed to guilt-trip ANOTHER friend of mine (a 60 Rogue, again, one of the single best PvPers I've ever met), and we killed the Hydrospawn quite quickly. They probably could have done the whole thing without me (being the newbie that I am), but when all is said and done, the Hydrospawn can be 3-manned.
