On the subject of the druid bear healing during means he has an ability called, Frenzied Regeneration. The ability converts up to 10 rage per second into health for 10 seconds. each point of aggro is worth 20 hp.
In effect this means that the Bear can heal himself for 2k of damage in 10 seconds, he doesn't even need 100 aggro to do that!
And I have seen Druids with well above 10k in armor, makes a warrior with Might equipment look like a chicken.

I thought this was to talk about the cloak and how to get it... not complain about who is right and who is wrong about the druid class. For god sakes just give it up and leave peopel to their own opinions.

Forum/Thread arguments are just senseless and time consuming.

Don't get why you all care so much about this 2000 ac/3% dmg crap. the topic was about a cloak not who was a better tank. And pvp wise, druid/warrior makes no difference both die before the priests. That is all. Good bye.

Hmm, people, calm down. Druid can tank, warrior can tank better. Druid can't block, warrior can. There is no good +defense leather items, but there is good +defense plate items.

But, druid _CAN_ and _WILL_ with good gear get more armor than warrior. This is not sad, it's fun to see druid tanking an instance.

Warrior will generate more agro with his abilities than a druid. Also, sunder armor reduces target's armor by 2000+, this will make the target weak, and melee classes can simply do more damage on it.

Our guild uses druids as tank in MC against some bosses(Garr for example). We have Ragnaros on farm status at this moment, and we let druid to tank him. 154 unbuffed fire resistance just wasn't enough. When our only druid, who's got 31 or more points in feral, will get 250 unbuffed fire resistance, we'll let him tank Ragnaros.

Ok druids may not be the best tanks out there....but they can REALLY tank (plus my guild has a couple of dumbass warriors)
For example...today me (60 lock) a 60 druid 57 priest 60 warrior and a 60 rogue did a DM west run but right before the prince our warrior DCed. So we asked if the druid could tank and he said he'd try. And it went perfect. We 4 manned the prince with a druid tanking he did great so any1 that says druids can't tank.....i need to slap you:P

You can get the box of misc stuff from the Free Knot quest and still do a tribute run by killing the king first, then as you run your way back through collecting seriously cool buffs from the guards you complete the quest and collect whatever blue pattern is in there.

This is the Goblin who also makes the "Ogre Suit", as part of a DM Tribute Run (DM North). Full strategy on a Tribute Run here:

Usually safest to complete the Tribute Run, and then return to the Goblin. All patterns on BindOnPickUp, so it's best for all leatherworkers and tailors to hang around the "cache". The key-holder can open the box, and group-link any patterns found within. Tailors roll on an tailor pattern, leatherworkers roll on leather, and winner re-opens the box (once unlocked) and loots.

Finally, on "THERE'S NO +DEF LEATHER GEAR" comments: technically true, but any flavor of gear (cloth, leather, mail or plate) can make use of Core Armor Kits (+3 DEF to head, chest, leg or feet). Since bear form doesn't multiply the effects of Armor Kits, a true Feral tank would perhaps benefit from replacing his Rugged Kits with Core Kits? Would be curious to test out the math comparisons between +40AC (Rugged Armor Kit) and +3 DEF (Core Armor Kit).

From Wowwiki again, there's this gem; shows the "damage mitigation" equivs for various stats IN BEAR FORM (without thick hide):

1 AGI = 12.5 Armor
1% Dodge = 250 Armor
1 +Def = 33.3 Armor

Based on that, +3DEF would equal 99.9 armor, or more than twice the boost of a rugged kit for damage mitigation. So, even though your actual AC numeric calue wouldn't show it, it's assumed that the actual amount of damage the bear is taking would be a lot less.

Naturally, all of this assumes you're in a guild that has extra Core Leathers, skinned exclusively from Core Hounds, a trash mob in Molten Core. Skinning the hounds requires a 315-skill skinner (300 base skill armed with Finkle's Skinner or Zulian Slicer plus +5 skinning glove enchant), and of course a group capable of farming MC. A full, one-sitting MC run will usually yield 15-20 Core Leathers; Core Hounds will respawn until Magmadar is killed. The tough part: most guilds have other uses for Core Leather, since they're used for AD Rep turn-ins and leather FireResist gear. Crafting Core Kits is usually a distant third on the list.

I don't know about the Cloak of Warding, but I've killed tons of these while venturing around the world and let me tell you: they don't drop @#$%.

But one-shotting anything feels so damn good and makes you feel powerful. Like a hunter...almost.
