This is a great hunter item, but it looks like it's getting a real nerf with the expansion since 1 agi doesn't equal 1 range attack power anymore. /cry

But still, it's a really nice ring reward from the Tribute run.

This is a great ring for rogues one of the things that I've been thinking about is that rogues have begun stacking as much ap and sacrificing agi which effects dodge and crit so while they get alot of dmg in raids they dont have enough dodge to stand up against higher elites cus they can't ever dodge.

this is just some info to clear up some mis-information printed, %crits work off a formula that includes agility and weapon skill. The bonus for %crit from these 2 variables does not happen until after you hit 190 in either area..so for example, I would not get any %crit bonus until I was at 191 agility.

Once you are beyond 190, you get .0186 Crit% per agility point, and .04 crit% per weapon skill point. If an item says +1% crit then that is added directly to the crit% amount.

You can view this by going under your spellbook and taking your cursor over the "attack" icon which will show you the %crit. Any melee talents (like for hunters) are also counted here, but ranged bonus is not (just add in the difference)
Unlike what some people have printed in other forums, there is NO "soft" buffer at 300 in either agility or weapon skill that reduces this amount.

dont believe everything you hear about crit calculations they arnt accurate. im a 60 hunter using 2 bone slicing hatchets with 2 + crit percent items and an agi of 284 my listed melee crit percent chance is 8.7 but i also have a dps parcer that groups attacks and compares percentages, after parcing 4500 swings with my 2 hatchets my crit percent in the parcer under (default) wich only compares my basic melee attacks with no extras like wing clip and raptor strike, it showed my crit percent at 18 percent and for my bow after 4000 attacks again using the selective portion for auto shoot lists my bow percent chance to crit at 14.3 percent and holding and thats just with + 3 percent worth of items using the caprace crossbow from dead side strath

Haha I'm a level 60 NE Hunter on Bloodscalp. I double wield tarnished elven rings and counterattack lodestones. The tarnished elven rings are especially nice in MC cause I think it helps your chance to hit with tranq shot as well. Your main tank will probably ask you to wear the ring if you are a tranq hunter.

I use Magni's Will and Painweaver Band, just the same as someone posting above. However, i'm still farming for 2 of those coz i'm not sure which one is better.

1% chance to hit is usefull when fighting mobs above ur level, as stated above.

15agi=
15 armor
0.5% chance to crit
15 attack power

Hard to say, isnt it? ^^

Mmmm tanking rings... Hehe

Let's see, total stats for a warrior:

2% hit
1.5% crit
1.5% dodge
+60 armor

Loss of stam, but higher mitigation and hit chance, which doesn't seem to show up anywhere else. Increased accuracy = more rage, more aggro, etc. I have 2 Bands of the Ogre King atm, I'm thinking of picking up 2 of these rings and testing them out.

2 Bands of the Ogre King add, for reference:

+260 HP
+4 dps
+ something to block (28 str's worth).

After seeing 0.7, this is making me think of monkey plate for tanking. -_-

The other option for +% hit was some ring from the princess in Maraudon with +6 stam as well, but it's unique. I'll have to poke around a bit more.

Princess in mauradon drops "Blackstone Ring" for anyone who was interested in that....got one my first time we brought her down, very nice ring.

strength is dps for us druid (yes agil is att power and crit chance which is kewl) my friend did this
2 ogre for everything
then he goes to like no hits nad all crit when he needs to inturn these bad boys

If you're 60 and haven't noticed the importance of % to hit then you need to stop playing. Opponents with epic gear with increasing agi, dodge, parry etc percentages need to be balanced out somehow. As a feral druid I'm working on getting a Tarnish Elven ring and Blackstone ring. Those along with a Belt of Preserved Heads gives me +3% to hit. If you're a druid, or anyone else who can stun, and haven't noticed the amounts of bashes/stuns being resisted then you need to wake up.

This dropped from the tribute today. No rogues or hunters in the group. Neither the 2 pallies, the mage, or the priest wanted it, so I took it. I'll replace it soon enough, but, for now, it's pretty good.

Got one of these on my second Tribute run and plan to get another, along with a Barbarous Blade.

I've dual equipped these for a while now. We did tribute runs for the hell of it. So much so I never actually did a normal run and knew that blade dropped of the observer.

Rogue by the way. Chance on hit is nice and when I'm fighting bosses in ZG I put them on. When I'm on BGs I would wear DJ and painweaver and now I have seal of jin so I replace painweaver.

Chance on hit is important but I also wore them cause they were the highest agility rings and I'm an agility @#$%^ rogue. Chance to dodge is very important to me in soloing. Hunters have pets, warriors wear plate, rogues can stunlock ONE mob and picking up adds is very bad. I'm not a vanishing run like a scared chicken rogue.

I'll be aiming for the accuria whenever we get to rag and down him. Until then, these are very nice rings for raiding.

Usually if it has a level requirement... it did not come from a quest. Many blue drops esppecially at higher levels are BoP.

wow no one reads before they post do they? It is Dire Maul north, the ogres. Off of the King, Cho'rush, or the tribute box. I cant quite remember, but its that last event.

its an awsome ring i got one for my war for tanking runs +15 agi for extra armor dodge etc and the 1% chance to hit to erm hit :D

yea sure the +15 agi and 1% chance to hit is nice, but i would take Myms signet x2 over this anyday, or even two of the ogre king bands, i have a Band of flesh and a green ring with +14 str and stam on it for my tank

Horde players be careful of people trying to sell you this ring for more than 10g.

You will likely be doing a lot of UBRS for Onyxia attunement and Painweaver Band drops there from the last boss quite frequently.

If you leveled by runs through Maraudon then you should have Blackstone Ring.

Bottom line is this ring is not worth more than 10 - 15g.
