They drop in Silithus off the air elementals ion the NW corner. Kind of rare, i killed 50 and only got 1.

The recipe actually only makes one boot, so you have to farm TWELVE essence of air for the set, and need 8 diamonds for the pair.

well these are tied with the best ragues boots in the game, 5 essense of air is NOT that hard to farm, if you actuly farmed the air onse it would take prtty long, I'd say 3+ hours, but if you farm water essenses that would take alot faster, I got 5 essences of water in 1.5 hours and had the transmuted to Air, and the rest of the stuff is easy as shell to get. BUt I still go with SC boots over these, becasue of teh Set bonus.

Don't give me that BS... 3best boots if u are looking for aggility. 6essce of air does not take "3days" to farm...
Me and my bro (both 60 ud rogue) farmed 12esse of air in proxly 6hs we needed them for stormshroud...
how can black dimonds be so cheap? from the drop rate i c i would not wanna farm them...

essence of air sells for 18 gold and black diamonds about 5 or 6

on bronzebeard you could by the mats for these boots for about 140 gold

I don't know how anyone could say these are either bad or not worth the price. They are BETTER than shadowcraft, and are probably the best before nightslayer. End of story.

Essence of air goes for roughly 23g on my server. that's 138g just for that regent!
So uttery and completly not worth it.

I've seen on person with these boots, and no matter what, they ARE great boots.

It's the recipe that sucks... Because the cost is so high to make these, and Shadowcraft is a far easier alternative, they aren't worth crafting.

It doesn't matter if I farm 6 Essences or buy them... I still have to sell the final product for the same amount (would I sell it for less than I could sell the mats for? retarded), an amount most people (at least on my server) aren't going to shell out.

I have NEVER made a profit from LW. I hate it. Dropped skinning for enchanting and I've made hundreds. Why the disparity?

The main reason stuff like this is in the game, is so people who can't run Scholo 41 times for their SC boots like I did, can get something comparable.

Essence of Air=Farmable.

SC boots require a raid, or 5 guys who know what they're doing, to get and clear Scholomance, at least as far as Rattlegore.

If you are a raider, in a large guild, of have a lot of mates, you'll be running instances, and will be able to get better gear.

This stuff is for casual players. And, by the way... that's a good thing.

To start with, I never understood why Black Diamonds (green items) are so much more expensive than Pristine Black Diamonds (blue items). On my server, a PBD goes for about 1g, while a BD is around 25g.

6 essences of air, on a good day that's 18g each (25+ on a bad day) if you can't find (or don't know) a few alchemists - of course, ideally you just get a water to air transmute, or whatever else available that results in essence of air.

Don't get me wrong, these boots are *nice*, finally a decent LW pattern! But as always, crazy mats, you won't be chain-crafting those to them up for sale on the AH (high-end LW is such a dead-end for a money-making profession). Mind you, I'd rather blow 6 essences of air on these boots than on Stormshroud stuff, that set is such a waste it's not even funny; if only Blizz added some +stam to SS pieces..

farmed essence for 2hours and got 8 so got that

and for me, as some of u pointed out, im not found of instances, taking long time and thats not always easy, often need to go away a while and so one

got mats now, just need a crafter =)

If you already have some Shadowcraft items, i prefer the Shadowcraft boots.

someone said no one would waste 175+ for these boots, but i think you are wrong, there are ppl in lvl 25+ buying fiery and there weps gets outdated 5 days later... i dno if they are buying it again on their next weapon or if they realize its a waste of money but there are lots of ppl who spend a lot more than they should in lower lvl's, you dont need good gear in low lvls...
just lvl to 70 and then get good gear in my opinion...

I agree...too much BSing and not enough valuable info about the actual item, which happens to be a recipe for a LWing item, in case anyone forgot by the time they read through all this garbage.

I had to do MORE than I cared to, to get the information on this, since I had to peice it all together from about 4 different sources. it was the same BS on every single website I tried to get info from.

The recipe for these boots are in Dire Maul. It is a BoP recipe that is in Knot Thimblejack's Cache.

From Wowwiki-
"Knot Thimblejack's Cache is a container that is left behind by Knot Thimblejack in Dire Maul. Knot is held captive by the Gordok Ogres and when you free him, he leaves behind his cache. In order to free Knot, you need to get the Gordok Shackle Key which drops off the ogres. Once you have the key, you talk to Knot which starts the quest Free Knot!. After he is free, he will leave. If you are planning on doing the Gordok Ogre Suit quest, make sure you complete it first before freeing Knot"

The only thing I have not found was the % of drop that the cache has on the items that are in it.

I believe it requires 300 leatherworking and elemental mastery. But from this picture it doesn't actually say Elemental... just that the Reagants are elemental.

Those boots can be crafted by every 300 leatherworker afaik. The pattern dropped today in our DM-run.
