1 of 4 rewards for winning in Alterac Valley from a quest in HIllsbrad/Alterac. (Very close to Tarren Mill for Horde and About a 3 minute ride from Southshore for Alliance.

Frost mages will want to get ahold of this wand as soon as humanly possible. You just can't beat the +frost damage on it until you get into heavy raiding. I've been using this thing for what seems to be ages now. It's really hard to replace.

This wand is still useful to warlocks and priests, especially on the Viscidus fight. ANY type of frost damage will cause him to freeze.

Not to mention, it's nice to have a wand that doesn't get resisted or do close to no damage on fire-based mobs in BRD, BRS, etc. And if someone tells you wands aren't worth using, they're wrong. Using a wand is reasonable DPS considering the fact that you're also regenerating mana. So, for chain pulls and eliminating downtime through a dungeon, don't be afraid to pull out your wand.

This is a very nice wand for its level, like the other rewards for this quest. I'd suggest any mage get this wand as soon as they can, because it's going to last atleast until you get some of the Outland greens. It might even beat most of those out. If anyone gives you a hard time for being a low level in AV, explain to them that you're going to help with the turn ins. Good luck!

By far, its meant to last till 60 so, you wont find a better wand for ice mages till outlands and probably couple levels in outlands.

Very funny to have spent time and gold on getting an Arcanite reaper, and some punk noob 51 warrior comes with a weapon thats just as good, arguably even better.

The +16 damage is based off of a 3 second cast speed. That way Cone of Cold and Fireblast don't become ungodly. That means if you frosbolt you will receive the full 16 damage addition everytime (even if you have the talents to cast decrease). There is some sort of function that was created to lessen the damage added on instant casts.

This is a decent wand for warlocks/priests doing BWL. It will allow us to do usable damage to the mobs that are weak to Ice, and at 1.5 it is decently fast.

For those who don't know, there are groups of trash mobs that have a random spell school weakness, so for BWL it makes sense to have a wand for each spell school you cannot cast as the wand will do more damage than your normal spells if they are weak to a school you can't cast from!

The spell schools are:
Nature
Ice
Fire
Shadow
Arcane

Ok, so it's not that great +dmg and doesnt help priests or locks out...but your missing the bigger picture here...

It's a wand with 64 dps that you can get at level 51. I always rush my toons to AV at 51 to get the rewards, sure they get replaced eventually but having a wand with that much dps at 51 is amazingly good.

this is an great wand for warlocks and priests in BWL. a wand will hit for 450 or so on the frost school of magic vunerable mob. as a BWL raid leader, I would boot from a raid a priest casting holy damage spells at one of these mobs, just for the sheer incompetence of the act.

This is a good wand and the guy/girl that said its not good for priests dont forget wands dont use mana. and the +frost dmg question one had... my educated guess is that it applies to the wands dmg as i dont find it likely the main AV quest reward for casters is mage only, anyways that would be pretty stupid.

two of my guildmates got this and i was like "WTF!" 64DPS from a PvP wand without reputation need! IMBA! Whai whai. im grindig for this now but i dont know what quest it is :-/

Optain the quest "The Battle of Alterac" from one of the NPC's outside AV, once completed you will get one of the 3 items.

I just got this quest at lvl 51 mage and went into an AV. I was in the raid group and in the room with Vandar killing him with everyone else. After we won the AV the quest didn't say complete or anything. Anybody know why the hell it didnt register as me killing vandar when I really did?

I chose the beads and put a macro in front to fire the trinket every time i use the /QH (Quick heal) add on . this means i never for get to fire the beads when they are available :)

ppl use wands for more than the stats, say for instance ur pvping and run out of mana, do u just stand there or do u do what dmg u can do. Ive killed many ppl with a wand, they do come in handy. Also for grinding (which u might do a little at the lvl for this wand) a high dps wand is grate so u dont burn threw ur mana so quickly. Thats my veiw on wands hehe

if you're a frost mage, you will probably be using this until you start raiding. doesnt benefit any other class/build however.

I'd say Frostmages can make better use of it.
I'm Warlock and use it aswell. Great damage, almost never resisted.
