With the upcoming change in downranked heals, larger mana pools might be coming back into style (as opposed to the +healing with lower level heals). Regen will still be key, though, since a healer spends 99.99% of a boss fight below 100% mana (regening). The low 10 spirit is a bother, but with almost as much intel as Arcane Brilliance (23 vs. 31) This gives your regen a longer amount of time to work before OOM sets in. Without and damage oriented stats, it's best in the hands of a healer OR a mana-intensive spell user, like a shaman.

I dont see why people always claim items for just one class or say its better for a certain class. Anyone with mana could properly use this. A mage would love the mana, as well as a druid and a priest. A pally doesnt get alot from his gear so this is very good for one. A hunter has low mana as it is, And a shaman's mana is also not the highest out there. The Stam and Spirit are helpful to anyone.

Well I am a pala I have 6500 mana unbuffed but that intellect boost on that ring is sweet so you expect me to bid well on this ring

really guys its your DKP so spend it how you see fit its just pointless to fill theses boards with peoples endless drivle of such and such a class item.....its pathetic. And for all those saying you roll in MC you made me laugh so hard I almost died....somewhere your system doesn't work...

A pala in my guild just got this sweetie, dont think anyone had any problems with it. It's a good ring for a pala-healbot and he was willing to spend loads of dkp on it.

Basically good for anyone that benefits from intellect (priests, mages, warlocks, hunters, paladins, shammans, and druids for you retards out there).

Very nice ring, in general.

As far as which classes would benefit from this item...

Mages/Warlocks: Most mages and warlocks I know wouldn't touch this with a long stick. They all swear by their +dmg and +spellcrit rings. A couple are really hurting for mana and regen, so they'd probably like a Band of Sulfuras, but overall they're happier with what they have now.

Druids: This ring is Feral Druid sex (and don't tell me they don't exist). Heart of the Wild means that this ring effectively gives +28 Intellect, which is nuts. I personally prefer a balance of stats and +healing and mana/5 on my gear (and I have the ZG set on my druid, which I don't want to break), but it's really nice for the dr00ds.

Priests/Shamans/Paladins: Same deal as the druids, though if they don't have HotW the Intellect bonus is "only" +23. I'd judge this a healadin-only ring, but then again, I'm Horde, so I don't know pally needs as well. All shaman specs are mana-^&*!@s, though, so enjoy this thing. If you were smart enough to drop five points in Enhancement to get +5% mana, the 360 mana from this ring is nice indeed.

Hunters: Uh, yeah. Band of Accuria, kkthxbai. Seriously, I can name a couple BLUE rings better for hunters than this (and I have a 60 Marksmanship mana-#$%^& hunter, so don't tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about). Conserving your mana is an art, I know, but I'd rather have the Painweaver Band than this thing as a hunter.

This ring would benifit a healing class alot, however mages can never have too much mana. And anyone that would say otherwise needs to role a mage. And granted some know it all will argue with this post that has a uber leet 60 mage. Just understand not all mages have "nice % bonus" items. And not all mages are at the same point in this game when they first raid MC.

It dropped at our second ragna kill.
We usually don't go much higher than 150 points for most items (even the Staff of Dominance Staff of Dominance was only 240 points). But here within 5 seconds we were at 300 points ;)
Final bid was 350 (and now I am poor =) )

I hope if your a mage you dont seriously want this item. Mages are already all over onyxia's head because of the crit % on dragonslayer's signet. This ring would benefit a druid or a priest so much more than a mage. Mages already have some of the largest mana pools in the game. Not to mention on the rare occasion that they actually do run out of mana they have Mana ruby's , Evocation, and potions all at their disposell. With all the int mages get from their epic set I have no idea why they would be interrested in this item over ring of entropy and dragonslayer's signet.

I can say that this ring sux so hard for a holy/disc priest to have If u aint in a huge lack of int. Healing-priests should go for manareagen and +healing instead imo:)

huh, i find it interesting that many people prefer other rings like cauterizing band or a spell damage ring. maybe ill hopefully be able to grab one then, if the pure casters dont actually value it too greatly.

as a paladin, i see this as a great ring, a very nice upgrade from blood of the martyr. this would give me another 200 mana or so, a very noticeable upgrade to my mana pool. i try to find a balance between AP/crit and intellect, all while stacking a lot of stam, and this fits the bill perfectly.

edit: i mean, for pvp, i use some crit :P
personally, i see it as a great ring for pvp and pve, at least on my pally

i dont think you can say thats not a mage or lock ring at all their main attack comes from mana so my god do they need it everyone who heavily relies on mana like priests druids both have equal need for it a paladin probly has less use but they also play a part in keeping people alive i think these classes should get priority its all about ethics though sure all mana users need int but others will need more than you just think long and hard before you go for the loot about where its gonna see the best use its found in high end dungeons thats where its needed most so consider that

Honestly, I don't get why so many casters drool all over this ring. I am a priest and at this point (6/8 Prophecy) don't have any mana issues in any MC fights. I much rather get +healing or mana/5 sec bonus, than tons of int.
Already have Cauterizing Band and planning on getting the second one.

Same goes for dps casters. Mages and locks (who would prefer sta over int anyways) get much more use from +dmg gear than plain stats.

But that's just my humble thoughts. Everyone has his own playstyle and I'm in no way trying to make you change it. Will be glad, however, if this post will make someone to reconsider usefulness (or useless? ;)) of this ring.

Edit: I meant 2nd Cauterizing Band for PvE, of course. In PvP my choice is Seal of the Archmagus over this one.

This dropped for the first time for the guild yesterday, I got it even though I was not the top DKP holder.

I like the fact that this works well in both PvE AND PvP :)

I will get my +heal from my proph set pieces and benediction.

Depends on how a mage is set up as to whether this is useful for them or not. Personally I'd love to have it since, as a mage, you can never have too much mana or stamina.

Luv this ring. IMO that combined with Dragonslayer's is the best combo for a priest with already tons of Healing. My base mana is now 7758 and health is around 3700.

admittedly for my lock id prefer onyxia's head reward : dragonslayer signet , even ring of spellpower / ring of dark dominion . HP/mana enuff due to clothpieces :p

I "accidentally" won this ring last night (Paladin). I did a very high bid but I mistyped while I was on the phone >_< Nevertheless it's a nice ring. Great intellect boost.
