If anyone else is wondering: You must keep this item, as Narain won't give you a new one.

Because my bank space is limited, I was curious whether I had to keep this item until I had all pages or if Narain could give me another if I deleted it. Even though the item isn't linked to the quest and deleting either won't delete the other (so you can have multiple bindings by abandoning the quest), there's no dialogue option to request a new binding.

I thought people should know that at the time I'm posting this comment, abandoning the quest will not delete any of the chapters you've collected.

You can (as of now at least) safely delete this book binding, collect the chapters over several days, return to the NPC when you have all of them (and 1-2 free inventory slots), abandon the quest, accept the quest, and then use the new binding he gives you to turn your collected chapters into Draconic For Dummies: Volume II.

Tufte is right, you can't get a book binding through a dialogue option, but you get one every time you accept the quest. As long as the chapters don't get deleted when you abandon the quest, you don't have to keep the book binding in your inventory.
