Cause if no... then you'd poison on the first hit, then 15 seconds later you'd poison them again, for a total of 300 damage on non-poison immune bosses, once every 5 minutes, or a 1 dps increase.

For a rogue, this is guaranteed poison for mutilate so you're not waiting on a proc before you've got Shiv.

The tooltip on this item is currently incorrect. It actually does 150 damage over 10 sec (15 damage every second) as can be seen by the spell description on WoWhead (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=26610)

This makes the trinket significantly better than the tooltip might indicate.

Since this has Dark Iron Bars in the recipe, do you need to go in to BRD to create the item, or can you just create it just like any other jewelry using just the jewel kit?

It doesn't stack, but it's a dot.

Each strike will refresh the dot, so you'll end up doing like 1.5 extra dps, and then an extra 15 damage when you die or run away or whatever. It does keep rogues out of stealth, though, so it's a good anti-Vanish tool, but certainly not amazing.

Does anyone know if the application of the dot counts as a hit, for purposes of spell pushback?

Alright first things first. You do not have to be in BRD to craft this just need the jeweler's kit. Secondly I recently got this recipe and crafted it thinking it would be awesome. I have a shaman with fast weapons. Which means multiple stacks of poison right? Wrong. It hasnt stacked once. I have tried it in pve and pvp its a shame at how little it actually does. The +9 Agi is nice for a lvl 55 but not that great of a Dot.

I would assume it's an instant 15 damage bonus to every attack for 10 seconds. Instant poison, not deadly.

The spell ("Poison") procced by the effect ("Dark Iron Scorpid") used by this item has the following description:

"Poisons target for 15 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec."

And given the lack of the "Classes" text regarding stacking (as seen in the information for Deadly Poison VI's effect), I would assume it does not stack.

So this thing should do 150 Nature damage over 10 seconds with one application, and probably refresh the duration of the poison debuff until you stop hitting the mob, at which point it will continue doing 15 dps until 10 seconds have passed.

But how long does the trinket's poison-proccing effect last? Going off the spell text for Dark Iron Scorpid, 20 seconds.

Ok I made this. As you see, it's on "Use".

You activate it. A little scorpid appears beside you.

Now every swing for the next 15 seconds poisons the target. It adds a debuff to the target that DOES NOT STACK. The first hit will apply it, and for 10 seconds after that they will take 15 damage each second the are affected by it. Each additional swing will only refresh that poison timer, bringing it back up to 10 seconds.

When the buff fades from you, you must wait for the 5 minute cooldown to pass before you may use it again.
