This says lvl 55 but I was able to equip it at lvl 38. My herbalism skill was 256. Maybe the lvl refers to when you can craft it?

It refers to the item level, which is a measure of the quality of the item. It is not related to character level required to use.

So far this is the largest herb bag you can get, which is a bit odd considering the fact that the other professions can get 28 slot bags :-(

Sometimes, even 4 slots can make a big difference. (And it's a lot cheaper than the 24 slot)

Think of it this way, Hunters use quivers instead of normal bags for that small edge in combat (aspd boost) I usually keep a normal bag in my inventory just in case I need to carry stuff (Long instance, usually low on arrows by then anyway)

This bag is the same sense, a couple extra slots, less cost, and holds all your stuff (automatically sorts?) Not sure about the sorting but I find it a good idea ('specially if you have "herbsbank" like me :P)

Here's some info about this bag.

1) It can be used as a bank bag, and you can equip more than one in your bank bag slots as my herbalist/alchemist has 4 equiped in the bank and 1 equiped on character.

2) You do not need herbalism to use this bag, but only herbs can go into it as well as certian items, like the scyth from ZG. So it's pretty useless without herbalism.

3) Alchemy regents and products like blackmouth oil, fire oil, sharp claws, etc. cannot go into this bag.

4) Because this is a special purpose bag, I am not sure if you can equip other special purpose bags of different types...like a herb bag and an enchanting bag. My guess would be no. But I'm sure that someone out there will give a definite answer on this.

Somebody from my guild said that with the expansion, these can be bought from vendors. I've been looking for one and haven't found one.

As for the comment about these bags not being on the AH -- they *used* to be on the AH (pre-expansion) and now they are not.

Still, I'd gladly buy one from the AH rather than searching around for hours for the vendor who sells them.

You can buy this bag to a vendor at the kurenai camp in the north west of hellfire peninsula (ally faction)

You are full of sh*t, literally full of it.

-To begin with, there is no Kurenai camp at all at the NW of the Hellfire Peninsula. The Temple of Telhamat (a Draenei settlement) is to be found there, however. The vendors there at the Temple of Telhamat, do NOT and I repeat NOT sell neither the Cenarion herb bag, nor any other equivalent herb bag 20 slots or higher.

-Secondly, the mention of yours to the "Kurenai Camp" I would interpet as referring to the Orebor Harborage in Zangarmarsh, yet another Alliance faction settlement, where *surprise-surprise* the vendors sell neither the Cenarion Herb Bag nor any other 20 slot herbalism bag or greater.

I wasted about a couple of hours trying to verify what the moron above wrote, trying to get my faction level up to get friendly with the Kurenai.

BTW, if you are a carftsman or merchant, and you are trying to find out if what the moron said is right on, it would be of interest to you to note that, not only the Cenarion herb Bag isn't sold anywhere by any kind of vendor but also, there isn't any vendor who sells 20 slot herbalism bags or greater in TBC to my best knowledge.

By the way, I sold three Cenarion herb Bags I had made in just a single day in my European server, which means that there is still a demand for these bags as we speak.

so i bought the pattern and was showing my guild that i could make that for our herbalists, then one of my guildmates said he'd want one for the strength and agility, i, of course was confused, for he would have no use for an herb bag nor did it have such stats, but he got a screen shot, and it was called "of the tiger" any idea why this happened?:

Herb Bags can store motes and primal lifes, as they can be gathered by herbalism.

I'm a tailor/JC, but I was tailor/skinner about 5 days ago. I was able to powerlevel my JC from 0 to 300 using profits primarily from making this bag. It sells for 20-25g easy, and the demand for it is HUGE. So if you're a tailor wondering whether or not it's worth it to go and make friendly with the Cenarion Circle to get this pattern, yes. It is worth it.

The bag also holds the seed of life from the quest seed of life in Maraudon. Also if I remember correctly it also holds the seeds that druids use for their spells that are bought from the reagent vendor. But I KNOW it holds the seed of life because I got it last night and it went right in my cenarion herb bag. Also it holds the packets of seeds need for the morrowgrain pouch.

For those that have a great wish for one of these beauties, but aren't rich, see if anyone in your guild is able to make it for you.You can increase your chances of such a favour by going hunting for some base ingredients, like Purple Lotus, which is always sparse, and in awkward places - like near unfriendly humanoid sorts - that you must carve your way through before you can safely harvest.
I got mine for absolutely nothing this way, although I still go hunting for Lotus so others can get a bag too. It's a good way to show your appreciation and to understand the value of the ingredients, since they take so long to gather.

If it can hold only herbs, what's the advantage of an herb bag as opposed to simply putting herbs in a regular bag? I'm still considering learning herbalism, but if I'm going to have to take up a bag slot for a special herb bag, I don't think it's worth it.

You need faction to buy the pattern to make this bag...but not to actually make it...or to equip it...is that right? Would like to have two of these..one for bank and one to carry with me when herb collecting. If I have my alli toon buy the pattern and somehow get it to my horde toon...can the horde toon learn the pattern and make the bag? Would like to know b4 going all the way to Sil to get pattern lol

45G, what a joke. The mats aren't that hard to get. Just saw this going between 30 and 40G a few weeks ago. Of course, I didn't need it then. Freakin' AH prices have been so ridiculous since about 4-5 months ago.
