these things can be a pain to grind if you dont look out for ads - but it should be fairly easy for any feral druid to take on two or maybe three wasps (they have the highest drop-rate) at a time

Even though the quest text refers to "giant wasps" (lowercase 's'), these do drop from the Gorishi Stingers, not just the Gorishi Wasps.

As stated in the quest, it is in the slithering scar of un'goro crater, southern middle section of the map.

Edit, just had two drop from Gorishi Wasps... so they drop from both the wasps and the stingers

Damn I was at this place for about an hour with my lvl 59 friend killing the wasps- I ended up leaving with 2/8. Pretty sad. I didn't realize you could kill the stingers too. We tried them for a while but when they didn't drop any we assumed they couldn't, so we went back to searching for more wasps.

ps. If you're that lvl 50 druid who kept stealing my wasps- you know who you are- SCREW YOU!

Have killed 6 stingers and 5 wasps... still no dropp =s
The items u get at the end of the quest RULEZ... But I have no planes on using two whole days on this sh*t.
Think I'll rather contact a Game master in stead... see if he/she botthers to do something about the amazeingely low dropp rate.

they never re spawn is that a bug i just have?
because i have looked for them to re spawn in a hour now and still no re spawn :S

I've been farming these for about two hours now and have 6 stingers. The wasps reavers and workers all seem to be in the pop table so just killing everything seems to yield a lot of wasps.

This quest sucks. Pointless waste of time activites should offer less opportunity to reflect on the fact that you're pointlessly wasting time.

Ive been killing those Gorishi Wasps for 23 mins and i got 1 drop :P cant even find Stingers. Gorishi Sting is to low droprate, they should fix this, the items you get on step 5 is not so imba actually. was trying to report in that new "Help Request" thing .. but it was offline :S WTF?

Took me around 20 min to complete quest. Kill anything that flies and you should be able to finish quick. The stingers can be found inside the Slithering Scar. I dont recall workers or Reavers dropping anything, so stick to the Warsps and Stingers

The drop rate is no where near 40%.. Its taking me forever just to get 1.

The stingers actually seem to have the best drop rate.. 40minutes trying with the wasp, 5mins with the stingers inside the hive.. drop rate 4/4...

Gorishi Reavers that are in the cave has the best drop rate for me.

I had zero drops after about 10-12 kills in the scar area, and then did really well (> 50%) near and inside the hive. Check there!

I had to kill about 20 of these before I got my first drop, but then I started getting about 1/3 to drop the stings.

Point is, don't get discouraged if you don't get the drop for a while.

The drop rate on these from Wasps is atrocious. And there's the issue of getting the wasps to actually spawn.

What I found to work better was to go into the Scar tunnels, and kill the Stingers there. Once you get the spawn locations and patrols figured out (easy), you can kinda hang out in one area, kill 5 mobs over and over. They will respawn as tunnellers, reavers, or stingers, and you can fight them without linking anything else, unlike up top.

I killed various bugs for an hour and a half to get the wasps to spawn. The stings drop very slow...

Worst part is the Disease that they cast for 30 minutes. Damage taken increased by 43%. Druids can't cure it, yuck. :(

drop rate appears to have been mega-buffed

easy day if you just concentrate on the fliers, above or below ground.

50 druid with decent to good gear, experienced

edit: seems the non-flyer mobs are dropping good too, got 2/4 non-flyer kills to drop the stinger.

...way to make the game more user-friendly

Can confirm that Gorishi Stingers have higher drop rate than the Wasps in Classic WoW. They are found inside the cave.

Stingers and Wasps share resp with Tunnelers and Reavers, so if you cant find them - just kill other and they will spawn

Farmed these inside The Slithering Scar, locate the "X" shaped room (53.2 x, 70.0 y) and kill everything that spawns in a circular pattern.
The Flying mobs that drop the stingers share a spawn rate with the other mobs in the room and respawn rather quickly at a level 50's pace.
Drop rate is rather poor, took about an hour to get all 8 at level 50.

If your druid is a cash cow and you don't need this questline, skip it, it's horrible.
