It's best not to pick this up until you are Exalted rep with Argent Dawn.

At the exalted level it takes 27 of EACH insignia. That means if you are gathering insignias solely through the 30-item repeatable quests at LHC then you will need 1,620 IF all of your stacks are perfect and you have the proper amount of mats for 27 of EACH insignia. Be careful in gathering your mats, some of them only offer ONE insignia, and others (ie savage frond) offer a CHOICE of insignias.

Do your math and check your stacks before you do the happy dance and fly there to turn it all in and come up short.

Is this better than the darkmoon neck thing

As a Pally who is just getting into Raid level stuff (done a few MC runs) I am curious if I should bother grinding for this thing as I have Tooth of Gnarr which is keeping my mana up for long heal battles, and only has 5 less STA. Any advice?

I'm Revered with AD, so this would take a bit to gather for.

I think this one is really the best caster necklace in game(perhaps except some naxx items which i don't know) although some people say orb of the darkmoon is better but on the orb there are +sta +will(sucks) and a bit more of spell dmg so this one is really better just keep farming bone fragments, runecloth(for runecloth robes,which you can turn in for an insignia), and ad rep on felstone field in western plaguelands...easy

I was debating between Ascendance trinket for healing, or this amulet.

Currently, as a holy spec paladin I've had this neck piece forever, drops off Balnazzar,

but... I see the Amulet of Dawn gives me 4 more int and stamina, but I loose 9 spirit and gaint up to + 15 heal/dmg.

Its a close call, but since I am so close to getting this, might as well.

I guess a 'lock could just go for the anastari heirloom or the dark advisor's, which are really easier to get, and keep the 1234898 insignas for something more useful.

This is a fairly mediocre neckpiece, considering there's also the Orb of the Darkmoon which can also be attained without raiding and much less grinding (No int, but more stam and dmg/healing).

Caster necks in WoW generally suck though.

Is their a certin Trick to obtaining this peice. Currently i am Honorred with Argent Dawn, and It takes 70 Crusader, and 70 Other thing-a-ma-bobers. And to get Just ONE, it takes like 30 Core ele..... This has to take EVER toget, Tell me....plesae

This item and items like it were not made for people that are presently raiding. Those items are in a whole different class all of their own. These items were made for the people that either A) don't raid at all or B) are preparing to raid. Seriously, think about it, if they made items that you can easily obtain by just buying mats off of the AH then no one would go through the instances to get the truly great items.

As for Orb of the Darkmoon being better...that's in the eye of the beholder as it were. I personally would rather have the stats on this neck and sacrific 6 spr and 7 dmg/healing.

this is a sucky neck for sure. the only reason, why someone would want it, is .. if the person has never beent to Aq20 / zg / mc. not mentioning naxx and bwl.
every single 20 / 40 men instance drops better necks then this.
u want eppix? Blizz gives u. - though they are suckier then zg blues.
