Mats for this are a joke. Maybe 300-400g, with the inflated market prices. This is comparable with the T4 helm.

These are a piece of crap. Compared to what you have to go through to max out engineering + gather the mats, the are a waste of gold.

They are inferior to Second Sight helms. They are on par with dungeon set 3, at most. They are REALLY inferior to T4.

Given the effort required to get 375 engineering and the cost of this item itself, it just doesn't seem worth it, for a rogue at least. In leveling engineering, I crafted three or four Cogspinner Goggles of _____. I got an of the Bandit, and here's how it compares after converting agi into AC, AP, crit, and dodge:

Cogspinner Goggles of the Bandit give you 43 more AC, 250 more HP, 8 more AP, 1.8% more dodge, and .37% less crit.

Worth it just 'cause they look so cool...While I would like better stats, all I could reasonably ask for (or rather, reasonably expect) are a few Gem slots with a Meta.

As rediculous as the mats are I would expect something better, but I would still make them =) Much too cool to pass up, and besides, Blizz is doing an engineering review as we speak =D

these deserve a nice big buff.. with the new 127 ilvl epic gogs, which are craftable at 350, these are far harder to make, and dont hold a candle to the deathblow ones.

With the introduction of Nether-based Goggles such as the Deathblow X11(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32478), these goggles are generally considered defunct.

The higher cost, higher skill requirement, and lesser benefits of these goggles make them an inferior option. Their one benefit is they do not require a nether, making them a more viable option for pre-60 twinks. However, a nether may be obtained, with planning at level 59.

to be honest compared to deathblow googles these SUCK also death googles will be upgradeable in 2,4 -.- so these should either be removed and gnomish engineers get some other googles or improved

You can get these goggles on 19 lvl. All you need is to buy all the ^&*!s from the AH to reach 375 engeneering. It is kinda expensive but you will be able to play 1 vs. 10 in WSG. :)

Kinda mad because I made some Cogspinner Goggles of the Bandit that have 220 AC, 31 Agi, 46 Stam, and 62 atk pwr. I think those are better and you can use them at Eng (340). Sorta ironic since I was only makeing them so I could get (375) to make and wear these Gnomish ones.

I think they derived the whole 5 skill levels per actual level from the other class-based and weapons skills...which is 5 per level.

Professions go in 75-level increments. You can be level 5 and have 75 Engineering, for example...90 if you're a gnome.

the level requirement for more than 300 skill of any profession is 45. Although all the Grand Master Trainers who teach these skills are found in outland, all that I know of. To go through the dark portal you need to be lvl 58.

The 375 book for fishing however is Req 275 fishing and level 45.

I hope there are trainers for 300+ skill in Azeroth as well, in that case this would kickass for a 49 twink rogue =)

The latest graphix are neat, and I am atm 24 skill away from this baby. =) 1x Primal = 10 motes so
120 shadow fire and earth motes, the shadow motes are easy for lowlvls like me (62) to grind in southwestern Hellfire Peninsula from the voidwalkers. fire and earth you get from veins and prolly have a few lying around once you reach 375 skill.

The trainer for the Goggles is in IF for alliance and Booty Bay for horde, Gnomish engineer trainer.

This is an OK item, I must admit, but there's alternatives that aren't much worse... or, may in fact be better in situations. If you get lucky with leveling engineering with Cogspinner Goggles (the cheapest thing to make on my server to level, at least), you can get a random enchantment of "Of the Bandit". This enchantment gives 31 Agility, 46 Stamina, and 62 Attackpower. You're losing a slight amount of crit, and a few points of attack power, but gaining a large amount of dodge (about 1.7 at my level, 66), and 240 HP. Totally not worth the mats if you get it.

Granted, you'll probably not get this enchantment while leveling your engineering, but it's possible - and will save you a lot of money. Not a bad alternative.

It has always been a giant money sink. But at least there was value and fun in it. Sadly, there seems to be little of either in it now. I already have Cogspinner of the bandit , I won't be wasting my time on these.

Can anyone tell me why a rogue would keep engineering or Leather working when such things as this https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=54290 are available to other professions? Only stubborn fools like myself, I guess.

Sweet! Im a Gnome rogue I love the look of googles.Before I jused bloodvin googles, then suddenly burning crusader and I needed to wear ugly leather helmets. only 50 more skills and like A lot of gold! and they wil be mine :D !

Im stuck at 360, the only thing i can make is Hyper Vision Goggles are the mats are annoying, what can i do to increase it up to 375, i need 375 engineers with this!

Why would any hunter make these when you can make way better ones in the next patch that cost about the same (http://www.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2007/may/epic/goggles_mail.jpg).

I'm a hunter and I wouldnt use these in either pvp or pve. They have too little stamina for pvp and too little intellect and mana/5sec for pve.

I guess they will do something about them though in a future patch, maybe add some gem slots to it.

You have to understand the beaty of engineering items...you can actually make and wear this at lvl50 :), if you're a twink ofc (you need a lot of gold/mats to accomplish this) but it's doable and can been done.
Current status: lvl50 pally with skill lvl368.
Already have Gnomish Poultryizer and Nigh-Invulnerability Belt, just still need to find Rocket Boots Xtreme crafter :D

Here's the deal, engineering is probably the best profession to twink out with. It's one of the only professions that doesnt have a lvl requirement to use the gear you make (the only exception would be guns and the battle pets. I made these goggles at lvl 50. Compared to ANY thing else out there, these cannot be beat at lvl 50. Gnomish Battle Goggles + lvl 50=pwnage

if primal nether doesn't bind in 2.4 a level 50 could get the deathblow goggles and even the t2 goggles if the patten isn't bop

so these are pretty useless if blizzard don't boost em soon

Wow! Since patch 2.4 these are really useless to make. Yeah sure the non level requirement is nice for a twink since they changed everything but if your a twink why not just go goblin for rocketlauncher and stuff. I wonder if you will ever see and upgrade for these?

But once again, Thank You Blizzard for once again changing things... Makes the game SO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE!
