while caster DDs may compare this gem to the +dmg one, I am a holy pala, and my healer pants happen to have a yellow slot.

this +8spellcrit
4int+2mp5
and
9heal 4int
having enough int and mp5, i will take this one.

Just a small note, holy paladins are the only healing class that should be geming for spell crit.

Holy paladins do not gem for spell crit because its nice to have a critical heal a lot of damage, its because https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=20215 is their main source of mana.
So a crit heal = mana returned which gives them their amazing mana efficiency.

I had this recipe drop for me off a random mob in Shadowmoon Valley. Put it on the AH for 400 gold and it sold almost as soon as I posted it, so I'm thinking that it could sell for even more than that.

unless you are a build that benefits very very heavily from crits, you are probably better off for dps focusing on building +dmg rather than +crit.
