Got this to drop after 6 kills, so when you pick up the report just start killing the bog lords around you. If you have not gotten all your scales for the Hydra scale quest, the hydras in this area drop them too.

Took me about 40-50 withered giants before I got mine... So yeah - maybe you're lucky, maybe you're not :p

Since i'm an herbalist it doesn't really matter much to me this guys drop good herb
I still gonna farm this guys anyway
But it took me about 30-40 giants to get it and couple hundreds to be neutral with sporegar

save the Bog lord tendrils that drop off these, u need em for a quest later on =)

The whithered giants are good to farm mote of life too... (10 mote of life = 1 Primal life) The primal life can be selled for 10-15 g on AH on my server ( Silvermoon on the horde side)

By the way: Got mine on the 10th kill :D

The giants are a perfect thing grinding on they are easy to kill they gives reputation to sporeggar and drops undentified plant parts on them you can get raputation to cenarion expidation and they also drps mote of life and much junk to sell and if your a herbalist you cant gets skill and get even more unindentyfied plant parts

Those of you who had a hard time getting this, are you sure you're killing the right mobs? The quest says Withered Giants, not Withered Boglords. I've done this three times and haven't had a problem at all.

The reason the drop percentage is so low is because if you are not on this quest, it has 0% chance to drop. This is not factored in on drop percentage. If you have the quest, it will drop.

confirmed, you gotta kill the right mob (withered giant), AND be in the right area. Which is right around 80,36 next to that body. You will get it in just a few kills if you kill them there.

kk went to the bog lords near sporegar for nutrient things and the report drops....and it was from a starving bog lord...hmph

lol i must be the unluckiest guy alive i have here for 2 weeks from level 60 to level 67 just killing these guys then i go back read quest and kill the ones next to him and it drops I am so unlucky

I was just under 300,000 XP when I started looking for the report. After I turned it in, I was 346,864, close to 47,000 XP for this incredibly long and boring quest. I got 18 motes of life and 33 unidentified plant parts as well as the usual piles of small mushrooms, creeping moss, various usable plants and a quest which in itself was wortj over 10,000XP. My advice is only do thi if you feel incredibly lucky or are a herbalist and can "skin" the withered lords and giants for the loot you get. I got no green or blue item.

Funny how these things work... I had to kill a TON of mobs to get the thing to drop.

YES I was killing the right ones, and YES I completed the fist part of the quest.

This quest was one of the more obnoxious one's I've done.

just killed ONLY 1 and TADA it dropped :) of course the drop rate isnt the same to all so gd hunting while the xp is nice

You have to remember, that drop rate is also counting everyone who _isn't_ doing that quest, so it's gonna seem really low, since obviously, it isn't going to drop unless you are doing the quest.

Lol I was having trouble getting the drop then i started reading the comments and saw the low drop percentage I read how you need to kill giants not boglords...it dropped off the very next giant I killed xD. Drop rate can't be 2% as i probably killed only 7 or 8 giants.

well, i started this quest at level 62 with about 10k xp - i'm now level63 with 425956xp - i have gone nowhere else, and this @#$%ing this still hasn't dropped (i do spend a lot of time killing allies and organizing raids on if/sw/and tomorrow darnasus, but still, i have gotten xp nowhere but the dead mire and its bs
