I'm surprised how noone posted that this trinket is great for pvp, especially arenas.

First look at this other pvp trinket: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=25829 , which is one of the most expensive items to get.

This trinket on the other hand has only 4 less resilience, and has an absorb effect instead of healing. The absorb effect can be situationally even more useful as it can be used before engaging combat. The amount will not be affected by healing reduction like mortal strike. Also it will reduce rage generated by a warrior because its absorbs damage.

In summary, this trinket is almost as good as the very expensive pvp trinket. This means that, you might as well get this item, so get to spend your hard earned honor points on other pvp pieces first.

2 minute cooldown on this! Compare that to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17759 which is similar but has a 30 minute cooldown.

This is a great trinket for tanking when you're levelling and struggling to get enough defense to become uncrittable. At 70 it reduces your chance to get critted by 0.8% and is comparable to 20 defense rating if you're just looking at crit % reduction. At lower level the percentage is higher, so just add your resilience % to your defense rating % and see if you have enough (5% for even levelled mobs, 5.6% for +3).

Resilience doesn't add dodge/parry/block like defense, so eventually you want to replace this with a +defense rating trinket.

I am 70 and I still use this trinket. Maybe it's because the lack of other options, but I am satisfied with this trinket. Also, it has saved my life on several occasions. If you need a little extra time to run away from a beast, click this bad boy, and run like Hell! It'll absorb some nasty damage too. I use it right as I enter the battle to reduce the damage of the initial blow. I like it, maybe you will too.

This is so shockingly on par with the two that I couldn't believe it was from a lvl 62 instance. If you're on a BG where it's difficult to farm honor and you don't want to farm heroic UB every day this is a very viable solution for a 2nd PvP trinket. I plan on soloing UB to get this on my lock for sure since Black Stalker won't drop Alembic of Infernal Power for me.

for endgame arena u need insignia and this one i guess
in a fight this 440 damage absorbing is almoast the same as 44 stamina :O
u might sya that opponent will stop attacking u for 20s so i suggest to use it when u have some dots on u :D

As a levelling prot warrior, I have found this combined with https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17759 to be a rather effective combination of trinkets. In a pinch, I have about 1000 damage absorbtion to go with my Last Stand, potion, and if need be, Intimidating Shout/Bandaging. It's saved my ass on more than one occasion when I found myself in over my head and had to flee, or my healer (since while levelling, you don't always get experienced healers... hey, we all start somewhere!) suddenly finds herself overwhelmed or silenced. While the more experienced players may not need it for the ability, I have found it useful. The 30 resilience rating is also quite lovely to have, especially in the low 60's where resilience gear isn't as common.

I picked this up as a 63 healadin and its awesome. Cool down is only 2 minutes and it absorbs all types of damage. A great emergency buffer. Its not amazing. But its a buffer. 2-5 hits depending on what's hitting you. The 30 resilience doesn't hurt either... more resilience then most 62s or even 69s are running around with.

yeah...in my opinion 2min cd is the most important for this trinket. Ofc there are mutch better stats/spells trinkets for 60-69lvl, but this one u can use almost "nonstop"

My favorite part about this trinket is it creates a magical effect shield, which can absorb a dispel as opposed to a more important magical buff, such as a HoT or an innervate. Amazing item. Also good for lowbie tanks (especially druids).

This trinket can be pretty useful if you are soloing because most non-elite mobs hit for about 100-300 but whereas if you are in an instance they'll be taking down the shield in one shot or so. So its not really dependable in a situation like that, other than that there are better trinkets the only good thing I saw in this is the 30 resilience.

Consider, the Regal Protectorate is a nice tanking trinket; it gives twice the hp of this, but you lose it afterward.

Combine the two and it's almost a ghetto Last Stand.

No class specifics. It's good for tanks and ferals with the on equip but other than that, it's a defiliers talisman basically. If it doesn't share a cooldown it would be cool (2 bubbles in a row). In TBC though, 440 damage is trifling. You'll get it knocked out in 2-3 hits. I think it's good for a rogue in an emergency right before sprinting or one of those sap this guy, blind this guy, evasion tank this quest mob kind of situations.

I am a level 62 ho ly priest and i go thtis today.
even though it is more so for tanks it still comes in handy. i only had 1 trinket so i did not lose anything it also stacks witht eh helping crit holy talents and power word sheild

There are better tanking trinkets out there. Wasting a trinket spot on this one isn't worth it. 440 damage is minimal and you can get resilience other ways than wasting it with this one.

Resilience is strickly for PvP.

Most BG's rewards offer Reslience or a +Critical rating, just think of the two as opposites in perspective.

This trinket is quite handy for arena fights especially for Paladins who would like to fool people to belive that Divine Shield is up.

It may work (and did work a couple of times with me), because the graphics of this and Divine Shield are similar, that people will stop atacking you and regen. or simply wait as they are expecting a 12 sec invincibility to be up. So heal up or throw in some dmg. Then players will most likely hit you with all damage and skills they have to get you down quickly as they are sure that your Divine Shield is on cooldown. Then comes your big surprise with starting the real Divine Shield when you are low on health. Heal up and throw in your damage and you will easily win!

I'm a druid tank, resilience is nice for making yourself crit immune, but I think defense is better as it ups your dodge. If I had a free trinket slot I'd take this.

Was idly looking through atlas and saw this. Very handy for pvp.
30 resilience is a nice chunk, weapons and armor have between 35-15 ish and it will give a nice boost if you can spare a slot for it.

this trinket seems to be, quite frankly, pointless.

it's a nice beginner resilience trinket for the arena, but the "absorbs 440 damage" part is a joke at level 70. Any class can use this.

Since trinkets are fairly rare to come by at the early stages of Outland, this trinket will fill up an unused slot in many 60-61-62 gearing. I got this on my priest today, a level 61. It's replacing some garbage Pre-BC trinket. I'll probably replace it soon, but will keep it in the bank for doing BGs or whatever until I get a nice PVP set.
