He is a bad bird! My 67 hunter and a 64 warrior took him down. Warrior had to take a pot. and when he (Gutripper) went down I was at 5% and war was at around the same. He hits you with a dot called "gutrip" and if you don't watch it you will bleed out pretty fast. If you want to train this bird you better have good stam/agi gear or wait till you are at least 70. BTW he will walk through icetrap like it's not even there.

We spotted three concentrations of Greater Windrocs. Gutripper was by the third, the furthest West near a mountain. There were some tornado thingies there. We did not have to fight the mob of Windrocs because Gutripper flew off by the side.

Gutripper flies relatively high so unless you are looking up there is a good chance he will pounce on you without warning before your spellcasters are ready.

Our party of a twinked 66 mage and a 68 warrior wiped twice against him (the first time the mage wasn't ready with his spells so we tried again). We added a second mage and took him down in a normal fashion. Mage's slow spell didn't work on Gutripper.

Blizzard recommends a party of two; that's fine as long as they are Paladins but we recommend a party of three to reduce the odds of armor repair bills.

(P.S. --- the response "we took him down no problem" isn't going to change my advice to use 3.)

Bull crap you soloed him im a Shadow priest at 69 with 800+ Bonus shadow damage and that bird tore me up. You need at least 2 people to down him.

I was on my 70 hunter and soloed it 2nd try..... First try I have some other adds on me but with my 0/52/9 speced hunter on the 2nd try I critted the hell outta him and was able to finish with even my pet not dieing....

It was hard as hell though, I wouldn't recommend soloing.

30.30 is right and if your a lock you enlsave the demon to the west the leigonair elite 67 and let him do the work and you sit back and fire here and there.

solod as 68 shaman, put up earth elemental totem, gave that the gift of naaru, when element died, i used shamanistic rage and beat the $%^& out of that bird.... so its soloable....
