Available from the easiest mobs in WoW to kill, linen is simple, safe, and quick to farm. Although never rare on the AH, it always catches a fair premium from 60's who have better things to do with their time. On my server it's not uncommon to get 20s-50s a stack, not bad at all considering a new character gets 30-40 stacks leveling through Elwynn (or Durotar).

the best place to farm linen cloth for the allience is in the fargodeep and jasperload mines. the mobs ar easy and they have a fast respawn rate. for the horde it is best to kill the razormanes in durotar.

Humanoids level 6 and up can drop linen cloth, this is the easiest cloth to get.

Linen Cloth is the easiest cloth to gather (If you have a high level character), and maybe make some bit of money out of it too. The kobolds in Elwynn Forest usually have a good drop rates on Linen Cloth.

Moonbrook/Deadmines is a great place to farm linen cloth, I used to get about 5 stacks before bags became full. It seems the droprate has been lowered after the patch 2.0.12 tho, maybe someone can confirm this.

As people have already mentioned, Razormane mobs in The Barrens are easy to farm for Linen, and once you get the Linen, you can often sell it for quite the profit. It's great for low-levels, altough I'd use it for 1st Aid.

i thought the easiest way to farm linen cloth in little time at lvl 20+ was just to go to one of the caves ( fargodeep or jasperlord mines) and just kill the little monkeys till you get bored, i managed to get 38 linen cloth in 30 min. fast, easy and not far to travel. i would recomend you just pick up the money and linen cloth cause the little monkeys are always filled with useless junk.

I found that the best place to farm linen cloth is that small mill on the coast of in Westfall.

If you are starting out on a server, its a best to go there around level 14/15 and farm the 5-10 spawns there is. They have very fast respawn rates and drop up to 3 bits of linen cloth each which is amazing money for a new toon/server if you go and sell on the AH. Theres also a chance of them dropping Recipe:Swiftness potion (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=2555) which can sell to high level Alchemist for up to 5 gold.

here is 1 advice for horde:
must be 25+ lvl,go to ragefire chasm and kill https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=11318 and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=11319,they usually drop 5 linen cloth.
go few times in instance and you can make about 200 stacks in hour and half

Gnolls and Defias humanoids drop this pretty frequently. All you need is an AoE character to take em down quick and loot like theres no tomorrow.

This cloth can be found off ANY HUMANoid from levels 1-20 then wool 20-30 then silk 30-40 but linen could drop off a level 22 and wool off a 28

I found that going to RFC, linen drops around 50-60% of the time in stacks from 3 to 5. I went farming with my 60 hunter and had around 400 linen after running through it 5-6 times.

I got from 70-80 linen per run, some a little less, some a little more.

The troggs at the quarry east of in Dun Morogh drop a lot (east of Ironforge). Slaughter the ones on the outside and kill all of then ones inside. In about an hour I got over 100 linen cloth. The troggs also have a very fast respawn, which is great.

I recommend that you be at least 15 levels over the troggs. I'm a 43 mage and I used Arcane Explosion to farm. Still if you're at least 15 levels above them it should be easy to farm Linen here.

It's so easy that it wasn't even funny. Oh wait, it is!

RFC is The Land of Oz when it comes to linen drops. I'd suggest grinding there for anybody 30+ that wants to get their hands on some. Hell, I'd suggest Alliance try to get there if they've got the balls.

If youre Horde

SouthSea Brigands are good if your a low lvl and want to farm it,
SouthSea Cannoneers are good too. about 77.6% chance of drop, and
also as a bonus, you get 5 rep with Ratchet.

If you go in ragefire dungoen while your 70 to get lots of linen cloth for and alt or if you MAX 20 best 40sih.. well ya i went there twice and ended up with liek 200 linen cloth and both raids were abotu 10 minutes each.. and if you go all the way you can find 2 blues and a couple greens! :-)

Personally, i think the best place to farm these is in the wailing/cursed highborns near the ruins just south of Auberdine on darkshore... at a reasonable level they're insta-kills and you get about 50linen/hr.

They have the statistics above of 30%.. but they tend to drop 3 at a time, so i would say its more like 1 unit/kill myself

Those two places drop a TON of linen cloth. Just about any mob less than level 19 will drop these though.

If you go to Ironforge Airport then you will notice that there are some mobs spawning all the time, they drop the linen cloth for about 30-50% and can be killed with 1 (I thought rank 3, maybe even rank 2) arcane explosion, they almost respawn instantly so if you need linen cloth go there, Although I do think you should clear all your bags because you dont wanna make the whole trip to get there again because your bags were full :P

A great place to get Linen Cloth is Starbreeze Village in Teledrassil. If you're a higher level they die easy, regenerate quick, and give linen frequently!

It's not a lot of silver but it bought me all my greens until I could get wool cloth to buy blues.

Grind it in RFC. Even if you just clear the first section of Troggs + Shamans and the passage to the left you'll get about 50 Linen Cloth. Do the rest of it and it'd be surprising if you didn't exit RFC with about 100 Linen.

Pretty soul crushing though.

The best place is in my opinion the area around Jangolode mine in Westfall. Those trappers and smugglers drop linen without end.

For Horde:
In Durotar (Orc and Troll), try farming the humans at Tiragarde Keep, near Razor Hill, and the Quillboars between Razor Hill and The Barrens.
In Mulgore (Taurean), try the Venture Co. , Palemane Knolls and Harpies at various locations around Mulgore.
In Tristfal Glades (Undead), there's humans at Silliden Farmstead and the nearby tower to the west near Deathknell (starting area) and the tower near the Sewers exit to Undercity.

For those of you who don't fancy grinding dungeons head to Sludge Fen in the north of the Barrens (56,8). I did 3 and a half circuits of this small lake and ended up with 180 linen, a handleful of greens, couple of 8 slot bags, a LW pattern and after selling the vendor trash a couple of gold. Took about 20 mins but be mindful of low levels questing. The mobs were spawning on top of me so your not short of things to hit. Good Luck

Can confirm RFC still the best place for Linen Cloth. I did the saucy run through Org from the West entrance with my Human Pally (lvl 66 slow mount still lol but didn't die) ran RFC 3 times and came out with 266 linen for my alt. Skipped anything that wasn't a humanoid, regularly got 5 linen per mob.
