This is a great weapon for a level 19 BG twink. One of the very few ranged items with stats at that level

Getting this at level 19 gave me a total of 1456 xp:

60 from discovering Fairbridge Strand.
68+68 from discovering Beryl Coast and Blood Watch.
110 from doing the pre-q (What Argus Means to Me).
100 from discovering Bladewood.
And finally 1050 from handing in the quest. Make sure you only kill the level 13 spies, as they give no experience.

All in all, no real risk of leveling while getting this, unless you're really, really close to level 20.

I myself was a bit worried about this, but decided to give it a try anyways, and it turned out to be no problem at all.

IMO this are the best ranged weapon for and Alliance BG twink rogues because of the fact that the Throat Piercers are hard to get and that they will eventually run out and need to be replenished. This on the other hand has 1 less agility but an extra stamina, and needs only arrows. Sure it is slower than a thrown weapon, but I have to believe that most rogues won't mind even if they are being kited. Horde players can used the Quel'Thalas Recurve bow or Throat Piercers.

One of the three ranged weapons with stats on 19 twinks (Alliance only).
You can try some Horde to get you Throat Piercers from Ghostlands though.
Blacksmiths can do Thick Bronze Darts, can easily be found from Auction House though.
For hunters I suggest Venomstrike.

Plenty better? like what?
Only 2 things i know of are a +2str crafted, or a +2agi vendor bought throwing weapon (the +agi is horde only, so need to arrange something with neutral AH's etc..)

As a rogue, i'd still rather have this xbow though, unless i was going for agi/dodge setup.

for all those who dont know

this is indeed a spectacular twink weapon.
OF COURSE THIS IS NOT FOR HUNTERS
but for players who need the extra stats and do not regularly use range weapons.

I mean seriously...out of 50 bgs, a non-hunter will use his range weapon like 5% of the time, maybe even less or even never. Those stats would be WAY MORE BENEFICIAL than raw dps (like the venomstrike or lil timmy's peashooter) simply because non-hunters WILL NOT USE THAT RANGE DPS, they will however USE THE STATS!

is it so hard to understand why this is such a great range weapon for non-hunters? If you know anything about your class you will know whether to get this or not.

great for rogues!, Nice for warriors and pallies (although the throwing darts are juss as good with the +str, but up to u which is your preference).

For a lvl 19 twink warrior the best option is indeed a Draenei. 320 HoT is a valieable asset and it helps agains EVERY openent class

As for the +5 sword/mace ... well indeed thats a really good one too but I'd prefere it on a rogue rather than warrior. Humans I'd take for rogues and paladin twinks. Since the paladin can heal and gets a nice +spirit bonus I'd prefere a human pala than Draenei and ofc humans get perception. Really handy in that lvls

Escape artist is also nice but since paladins are far better flag carriers than warriors (and gnomes cant make palas) I dont see the point in making a gnome twink other than you just like the race, which is a complete mystery to me why ppl like that race.

On Horde side ... I'd think I'd go for a Tauren Warrior twink. Stamina is what matters in pvp and with a tauren twink you can reach over 1900hp ... or get forsaken for canibalize for fast regen of hp in "Mid-battle"

This is the absolute best gear for the one who wants a incredible lvl 19 twink (rogue):

Head: Lucky Fishing Hat (+8 agi)

Neck: Snetinels Medallion

Shoulders: Talbar Mantle

Back: Sentrys Cloak (+3 agi or +12 dodge rating)

Chestpiece: Tunic of Westfall (Alliance) or Blackened Defias Armor (Horde) (+4 all stats)

Bracers: Forest Leather Bracers (+9 stam)

Gloves: Scouting Gloves of the Monkey, 4 agi 4 stam (+15 agi)

Belt: Deviate Scale Belt

Legs: Dark Leather Pants (+40 stam ad +12 agi)

Boots: Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots (+12 agi or Boar's Speed, 9 stam and speed increase)

Ring 1#: Seal of Wrynn (Alliance) or Seal of Sylvanas (Horde)

Ring 2#:Protector's Band (Alliance) dunno whats it called for the horde, but they got the same stats.

When it comes to the choice of weapons, there's loads of alteratives, Shadowfang, Assassin's Blade, Cruel Barb, the PvP sword/dagger is nothing to recomend rly, lower dps, a choice for the one who can't afford the others.

My favourite set of weps is dual wield Cruel Barb with 15+ agi on both for the higher crits :)

What makes CB with 15 agi get higher crits?
If u dual wield CB with 15+ agi, the 15 agi is converted into 30 AP and +12 AP for each CB, that makes it +54 AP, and the 2.80 weapon speed is the slowest. And with the instant sinister strikes. Oh... just to think of it makes me happy :)

let say Shadowfang which is the best DPS-weapon for lvl 19, it has 2.70 speed, 17,6 dps (vs. the CB's 15.5) and then the +5 - 10 Shadow damage on each hit, they cant crit so SF makes lower crits.

Assassin's Blade MH and CB OH may be a good alternative too, with +15 agi on both / Crusader on the AB, that can make nice backstab-crits too.

DW CB with 15+ agi, is the best for just SS spamming and 5 combo points Eviscerates :D

with AB/CB with 15+ agi. Then u have to jump around like a freak trying to stab the horde/allie in the back. May be a great source of dmg if u spec:ed in backstab crits and If u get the hits/crits.

finally, the PvP-weapons. got one word for them: "Useable", not rly as high dps as the other ones, bad stats. Its a little faster and makes lower SS-hits/crits.

it doesnt rly matter what 1 u get if your a rogue ther almost the same throat piervers hav 2ag and argus crossfire has 1stam and 1 ag so they are both rly good

U cannot get baors speed on lvl 19 boots, its for item lvl 35 and up best thing to do is sacrifice a few stam or agil for faster moving speed, this rly helps warrs and rogue and even hunters, who always seem to be 42 yards behind the FC

Yea and about this crossbow, I would even take it on my upcoming 29 twink just because of the extra stm point. What other ranged weps do you know of for this lvl that has stm? None. I would take this because im trying to buff my health soo high that I can take more players than most twinks. Even been grinding Bloodsail rep for the pirate hat. No one has it on my server Gonna be the first. Its gonna be worth it imo even though im gonna have to restore 2 of my friends steamwheedle cartel reps. But about this crossbow, It has twink written all over it to those that wanna buff their stm. GL twinking all!
