This is undeniably one of the best hunter weapons available at this level. It gives you a whopping 61 total RAP, 70 if you have the Careful Aim talent. It's slow speed also means huge Raptor Strike crits.

All you need to get it is Friendly rep with the Sporeggar, which is extremely easy to obtain by collecting Glowcaps (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24245#00zc) and turning them in to Msshi'fn (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=17924).

For leveling to 70 you cannot beat this weapon. Even at lvl 70, it has the best balanced hunter stats in the game that I've seen, beating out other higher level items like the https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29329. High agi/sta items like the Quill might be better for pvp, but while grinding out 70 a balance of stats this good shouldn't be passed up. Achieving friendly with sporregar is as easy as doing all the quests they give, takes no more than an hour or two. Sadly, this weapon doesn't look terribly exciting, but the stats make up for that deficiency.

Indeed, this wep is good for lvling. Using it on my 66 hunter (Patch 2.3) with Aspect of the Viper, never get oom, which is extremly good for a BM hunter.

I would say, keep this wep until you get either https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31291 (Crystalforged War Axe) or https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=27903 (Sonic Spear)

I almost vendored this until I got a good look at the stats - this thing is almost as good as Barb of the Sand Reaver, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=52839, which is an epic! FYI for hunters - if you haven't got a good 2H weapon yet and have Burning Crusade go get this polearm ASAP!

The quest is obtained in Sporeggar, Zangarmarsh at aprox. 25,42.

You need to have some rep with these little SpungeBobs to get it. I think it's friendly but might remember wrong.

"Kill 12 Bloodscale Slavedrivers and 12 Bloodscale Enchantresses, and then return to Gzhun'tt at Sporeggar in Zangarmarsh".

The weapon is an awesome hunter wep, and so far i haven't seen any good replacements. A good hunter weapon (imo ofc) should give you good stats and first and foremost good +RAP, then who gives a damn about it's DPS. :)

Slap a +25 AGI enchant on this bad boy and you end up with a +86 RAP bonus! :)

got it gaining rep with the sporelings... god i hate naga ne rate its stats are freaken sweet! to bad it looks stupid perfect for a hunter though i like it more than my old rage reaver

Got Terrok's Quill tonight.
Still haven't used it.
I'll lose 300 Mana only to gain 7 RAP and 30 HP.
Gotta love phat green lewtz
Waiting for Sonic spear before I get carried away with enchants on 2h greens though.
PvP I'll stick with Crystalforged War Axe.

Nice spear! I'm only a few hundred away from friendly with Sporeggar so I'll be getting this shortly. I hate to give up my hellreaver though, not so much for the stats (got a +25 agi 'chant on it) but for the look.

I'm 70 and still use it. It's a great combination of stats for a MM hunter.

The only class that should have this is a Hunter, that is out of the question and yes, this is way beyond beyond beging a freaken green
