This is the reward for a quest in Nagrand in Burning Crusade, after you complete the quest and get this key you can jump on this guys trampaleen. It just shoots you into the air and you float over and you can do it again, alittle fun thing blizzard put in. :D

I got it from the elemental gas quest. What is the use of this thing?

The Jump-A-Tron 4000 is a fine piece of goblin engineering (it's designed to fail).
Using the Jump-A-Tron wont get you up to the nest, I'm sure everyone has noticed this, it fails every time. However, when it fails, it gives you a nice Jump-A-Tron buff that slows your fall down. You must use this buff to get to the nest.
Notice there is a hill overlooking the nest, hop on your mount, get on top of that hill, aim for the nest, and jump off it with your mount, you will fall slowly towards, and with a little practice in aiming, will land on the nest.
Grab the egg, then get ready for a lvl 66 elite bird, Windroc Matriarch, that's a bit pissed off at you. The bird hits pretty hard, but is fearable.
This quest is a bit of a puzzle to figure out at first, and I imagine not too many people know how to do it, and just wait till 70, when you can easily fly up to the nest.

lol i jst use my 60% druid flight form, didnt need the key and i solo'ed the bird

Most people may not know this, but goblins only engineer things that are destructive. Its a fact, the Master Goblin Engineering trainer will tell you that straight up. So the jump-a-tron will either kill you, or blow up. It really was designed for failure. So you have to find away around that failure. like Jumping off a cliff or flying over with a flying mount.

Well this is a royal pain getting the jump right from the hill top. Took me about 20 mins get the exact spot. Don't jump too close to the edge is my advice Getting lined up is difficult, you have to be spot on. I clipped the edge soooo many times. Then the buff runs out and you have boing again to get it back, was starting to swear profusely!

I have landed on there twice now but got whupped by the bird. Next time though I'll have it. Just got to wait for my Stone Elemental to cool down

IF you're actually trying to get to the next, start from on top of the jump-a-tron. Then change your camera view to directly overhead, remove buff when you're above nest.

On a side note, mages: if you've missed, just blink. No matter how high up you are, you'll end up directly below with no fall damage. Saved me some time when I knew I had missed (and badly :P).

how about the noggerfogen elixir for slow fall buf?

You could try the Noggenfogger elixir, but you never know what thing that elixir is going to do, so your kind of using it at your own risk.

You can do this from the Jump-a-tron.

Stand between the tree and the trampoline. Face the tramp and walk right up to it. Look straight down. Activate jump-a-tron.

When you are just about to pass over the nest, click the icon on the top right that appeared when you activated. This only took me about 6 tries.

Gear egg, then hop down. Bird will come. Completed with 66 holy pally and 66 mm hunter. Not easy, but not impossible.

better skip this quest till you get a flying mount

if you absolutely have half an hour to waste or just want to try it...

a) do this this naked
b) have lots of cheap food (water if your a healer)
c) if you do actually manage to land in the nest, get dressed before grabbing the egg

I died about 7 times and decided to come back later

you have to stand between the jump-a-tron and the tree

when you are at about max height you have to cancel your buff

as you fall at normal speed you will continue to move forward

Slow fall, or Levitate would be a huge benefit because you can control your movement

Tried both jumping from the cliff and jumping from the tramp. Easiest was to stand on tramp with your back facing nest, point your camera view down, activate jump them immediately click off the debuff on your way up and you should land on nest. Appears you have some control over your fall even at normal speed. Heal up, get the egg, wait for it to disappear then jump down and take the bird. Couldn't solo the bird as a 65 fire mage but with some help from a bystander priest and hunter got it and the reward is nice and worth it.

omg, u guys are all crazy.. the previous post abot getting the buff then jumping off the cliff works perfectly. dont wast time doing anything else. i completed this in 2 min, probable took only 3 running jumps on my mount from top of cliff towards the nest and nailed it. cake.

OMG! If you have a flying mount, the Jump-a-tron is not even necessary. Just land in the flippin' nest. Just wasted 30 minutes and 5 gold in repair money figuring that out. Have fun!
