I have to say, anyone who doesn't realize the apparent beauty of this bow is just wrong. This bow has the highest attack damage of any bow up until Verdant Keeper's Aim (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17753) which means for a marksman spec hunter, this bow is amazing. Because marksman skills rely on weapon damage, your shots will do incredible amounts of damage. The criticals that can be achieved with this bow if used properly are simply staggering. I was able to outdamage lvl49 hunters and dps shammys in ZF when I was lvl44 simply because of this bow. If you are a beastmaster spec, however, this bow is a definite pass for you since you don't rely on your attack skills for damage.
Beastmasters, look into the Hurricane (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=2824) as the ridiculous attack speed will let u proc IAoTH and with a standard 16-slot quiver, this can allow u to achieve a .75 second attack speed or faster. Since bm's just need to pluck away, this is awesome ^^.
I definitely recommend this bow but try to shop around as the AH price is quite ridiculous. If you have the gold to burn, however, GET THIS BOW. Get a +7 scope on this puppy and you won't need a replacement for a while.
The searing arrows are pretty sweet too ^^

kallasatpone, ofc you shall NOT buy this bow.. sucks for rogues. if ya are a pvper you should go for a bow with stamina/agility on it, and if ur pveer you should go for agility maybe strenght. This is a hunter bow. and "something under 700" is a sick price, its worth like 100-120, not more. Rogues never uses bows, later on you use trow weps like crazy but. and if ya want it for some nice dmg when chickens try to escape from you, get a faster bow then.

anyway something useful rambob pretty much summed it up but if your lucky on Kil'jaeden i've seen both bows for under 70g so keep an eye on the auction house and your pockets deep.
As beast master when i had hurricane i believe i reached a speed of .5 with rapid fire, quick shots, and ribley's quiver.

This is an awesome bow for the level requirement however the price is rather outragoues (I got mine free from a guild bank but they paid 80g). However this bow will last you for quite some time, and you shouldnt really have to worry about another weapon till lvl 50

Picking ur twink range weapon get dicey... Dwarf go gun get the https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9422 it'll benefit u more since you have + gun skill...
any other class this is best weapon for your 39 twink... and yes it can have +7dmg scope put on it ....ONLY I REPEAT ONLY if you havent equipped it...give it to a friend you trust or a different character of yours above level 40...u can then add the scope without making it soulbound and then send it back to ur twink... i have done this and know many others on my serve who have.

Most people (including myself) will agree that this is an excellent bow, however if you are the run-of-the-mill player this is not worth the 80-120 gold. It is cheaper just to buy a green bow every 4 levels or so or use quest rewards until you find a green that replaces them. This bow is usually replaced at level 50 or so by green items (namely weapons that add +AP).

Although this bow is epic and one of the top 4 bows for the 39 bracket, it is semi-situational. If you are speccing Marksman, I recommend that you do not use this bow. You would be better off using the Shadowforge Bushmaster, or The Silencer then using this bow. The reason is because its proc breaks Scatter Shot around 80% of the time and can get quite frustrating.

Although the proc is nice and adds extra damage, your DPS and damage would actually be consistently higher with the Shadowforge Bushmaster with your Engineer crafted Mithril Bullets.

Regardless, the bow still dishes out some serious damage and would be great for twinks speccing down the Beast Master tree or down the Survivalist tree.

LOL guys this is soo sad but soo true: i was going to get this bow for 41g buyout on th AH in the doomhammer server BUT i was short with 3 copper. i cryed...REALLY!!! but then some fuck mole bough out and no there was no way for me to get the money my back was cleared and so was my inventory i asked a lvl 70 and he ignored me....its an awsome weapon and if you find it under 100g take it fast. there was another time where some noob put a 12g bid price and not buyout and i bid 110g but my arch nemisis on the server (paladin cant use ranged weapon) bid 200g....i reported him and he got banned..along with my bow....

Phr057, i can see where you are coming from, because what you say is probably true, however if you factor in the weapon speed of this bow it is not that great for Beast Master and Survival Spec. Marksmanship spec is not based on dps but rather high dmg and the slow speed but hard hit on this bow makes it somewhat ideal for marksman hunters

I would say this bow would be better for a Warrior. It's too slow for Auto-shot. It's more of a bow to pull stuff with and just for looks/fancy schmancy stuff.
I just got one today off a bear in Feralas next to where I was tryin to tame Snarler (finally found him- for any hunters who know my misery for the last few days).
Thottbot shows AH price as 230g ... and since epics and twink items are particularly high on this server I'm thinking i'll try 300 buyout.
On the other hand, I have a Warrior that i've been thinking about twinking... so may just keep it.

what people need to understand in twink regards... what about everyone has said is semi right... marksman.. get this weapon for 39 twink ... ur in a bg ur gonna run out mana and die eventually unless ur one of those weird int hunters...anyway ull get ur mana back...go back down field burst some dmg and die again...

now if ur pro ull sit and relax and drink while next wave approaches and be ready to do it again... im 37 and hit mid to hi 500 easy and i dont have my twink pants on or my revelosh shoulders or boots at 39...and a ring and my cape...

This is the best 39 twink hunter weapon for a Troll. The racial +1% crit for bows puts ahead of the otherwise very comparable blue guns.

Unless of course the scattershot ruining proc is a deal-breaker.

If you are going to twink with this beauty, make sure you farm loads of https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9399 precision arrow from the dwarven minibosses in Uldaman. You will also get a Swiftness Potion on each run, which are also pretty good.

I was running to Gadgetzan from ZF and randomly burned a hyena with fireblast as I ran by and he dropped this bow.
I don't know what a hyena was doing with a bow but I gave it to my hunter friend as a gift. He gave me 35g as a gift in return.

I got this off a Ooze at the Zeppelin crash site near Tabathas Farm in Dustwallow Marsh. Currently it isn't listed on the list of monsters who drop it. I put it in the AH asking for 320G and in less than a minute - maybe only 30 seconds - it was SOLD!!! This was on the ghostlands server.

I got this baby in hinterlands the other day off of a 42 wolf outside aerie. Ended up selling it to a twink for 400g. Felt extremely lucky, finally after 2 years of playing a BoE epic dropped.

If you get this to dropped i wouldn't sell it below, 200 or 250g. Simply because it is the BEST ranged twink weapon in the 39 bracket.

This bad boy dropped of one of the Gnome miners in Uldaman. I am told, for this level, this bow is unparallelled. If you can find a bow like this at level 37, and use bows, who the heck wouldn't want to use it? No the best bow out there, but what do you expect from a level 37 weapon. My Human 'Lock picked this up while grinding Nagas in Feralas. It is my first Epic drop, and when I saw it, I was like "Sweet, nice bow for my hunter toon!" Anyway, I was going to pass it along to my lvl 31 BM specced Nelf Hunter, even though they'd have to wait to use it, but then saw it's going for 200 to 225 G on the AH, and that it's better suited to MM specced Hunters rather than BM! So, I'm putting it up for sale on Dethecus, Ally Side...going into the AH this weekend if I don't sell it on Trade first (which I'll hawk it out there tonight, and part of tomorrow before I go to AH with it! I'm Johnqpublic on Dethecus if interested!

Just bought this for 70G buyout in the Horde AH on Bloodfeather. It was on for 80G first, and I was willing to buy it, but by the time I got to the AH, it was relisted as 70G :). Lucky, slow me!

This thing rocks. I'm lvl 38 now and a lvl 45 warlock tried to ambush me yesterday (hid be behind a tree), he must have been pretty stupid, I'd spotted him on my minimap for ages. Anyway, he went down :). 1st time I died of his DoTs, 2nd time (he was back at full HP) I had 40% HP left (he had another pet with him). So well, this thing rocks :). >400 crits (not talking about aimed shot) on cloth classes FTW!

I got this when I was level 39, for 70G. Its SO worth it. Any pvp encounters i get involved in its just unfair sometimes. I am 42 now, but I crit for 500+ on casters, normal shot for 150-200, aimed shot for 300+ and crit on those for 900+. Casters fear me. they dont stand a chance. Even level 48/49/50 casters have met their swift doom to me and my bow when I was 40. Everyone else i have a great advantage on as well, but I focus on casters, cause its just to easy to kill them. DEATH TO ALL GNOMES!

This could just be cause its an epic, i'm sure any epic gives you this kind of advantage, but this bow is pristine. I am gonna be real bummed when I get 50 and have to give it up for gryphon wing, cause this bow is just cooler :)

Get it if you want to devestate in the 37-49 range.

Just dropped in Mauldron (I know I spelled it wrong) off one of the Tricksters. Our party was made up of all casters, who didn't need and couldn't use, a pally who couldn't use it, and me a warrior that was trained and could use it. I have not equipped it yet though.
Cloth wearers won the lion share of gear mostly greens and a few blues (You would not believe the amount of cloth items that dropped).
So it was really great that I won it.
Thinking about equipping just for the coolness of it.
I was getting offers for it from tells as soon as it was in my bag.
I agree seeing a purple drop is just cool.
Winning it is even better.
Wonder what kind of damage it'll do for a warrior.

The bow has the same max/min damage and the same speed. Only thing that changed is the +1-5 fire damage changed to a chance to do 18-26 fire damage, and it procs quite often. Only thing, it breaks scatter shot because the damage is dealt shortly after it hits the target... :/

This dropped off Marez Cowl in stormgarde. I'ma there was a hunter a rogue a druid and me (another druid) in the group. We all rolled need and won it. I sold it on the spot to the other druid for 70g cuz (coulda sold it for me but i shouldnt have rolled need) who turned around and sold it for 200g

Got this baby tonight off the AH. First epic for a marksmanship specced Tauren hunter and it kicks some serious ass. Level 42 and not even properly specced with true shot yet and I'm getting 860+ crits using aimed shot. Really excellent bow and good until at least lvl52!

Dropped off a regualr MOB in STV while I was soloing with my 44 Paladin. The bow has been selling in the AH for anywhere from 350 gold to as low as 200 gold. It'd seem 200 is a low sale price with about 300 being a decent price. Since none of my characters can use the darn thing, I'll take anything over 200 for it. Had a few offers in the mail for 190 gold or so but I'll try for a higher bid in the AH for now. I'll post the final selling price when I finally sell it.

A VERY good bow, though it is kind of slow yet hard-hitting... I just wishg it would fire faster for less damage-per-hit yet have the same dps, would be better against casters then =)

Anyhow, I'd rather have some stats on that one than some insignificant amount of fire damage.
Overall DPS is quite good though, no doubt about it, and slow is good for hunters; more profit from instant skills and less ammo waste ^^

My ex guild, Heaven and Lamers always overprice this bow (as well as everything else cause they are a greedy crappy) and sell it in the AH. It sucks too. The 1 to 5 + fire damage is nothing noticable at all. It's one of the worst bows. Maybe in the future that modifer will work but the bow and most weapons aren't worth more then 20 gold tops. So sick of the greed.

Wait for the verdants aim one. Much better. Then the gorewood.

I can now use this beast of a bow. For this level, if you get this bow you're set for a good long while. I just started using it last night and the difference from my last bow was amazing. Get it if you can.

You'll piss your pet off something fierce if you start using it 37-39 because that Growl you have before the lvl 40 version almost doesn't cut it with the damage you'll be doing with this thing just on Auto-Shot!

This is also a ROGUE weapon... I'm a Hunter and we NEED slower ranged weapons... I'm 49 right now and my highest crit is 1689 with a 3.20 speed. If your stupid and do beast mastery or survival before markhip then do what you want to do...

This is being used for under 39 bg class. Which will be the better damage dealer considering the Bow of Searing Arrow will be using the 7.5 dmg arrow? Not sure on proc rate of fire damage vrse the crit change?

Got this off a lvl 40 crock that attacked me in the Swamp of Sorrows.

I was farming oracles and I guess i got to close to him. Man was I surprised to see this drop!

Anyway, I decided to sell it as Im a caster and got 100 gold buyout at the AH.

This dropped off a Jungle Stalker yesterday. I came to Allakhazam and noticed that Jungle Stalker wasn't even on the drop list!

Perfect bow for me because I was lvl 38 when it dropped!

It's an awesome bow, procs very often. I had to readjust my attack cycle to not pull aggro from my pet but that just means I am saving mana for those pesky rogues that try to gank me. =p

I'm a hunter and this just dropped in ZF, first epic that's ever dropped for me in WoW, only took 3 months and it was ninja'd by a Paladin. They can't even use ranged weapons. /wrist

don't know why some people complain the bow sux. I got it for 40g from a gnome, added a +7 sniperscope and have a great weapon. I do agree the 1-5 fire damage is not really a factor but this bow is the best available at its level.

i was in a group 2pally 1mage 1 priest 1hunter we kill a clay dude and a few more nothing the priest aggros 2 more clay guys we kill one nothing we kill the second and SNAP there it is so i quick slap need and then i see the 1mage 2pally hit need and the priest hit greed so i was freaking out until the priest hit greed like geting all mad cuz a 1 in 3 chance of me wining aint good and i need this thing they dont, so it seems like an hour has past and the priest finaly hits greed and i cant bare to look and then i noticed that i won! woot *dances* and then the other are mad so they pull like 100 more mobs and boot me from group after i try to help, so im hearthing its all good, then a huge giant slams me to the ground and i get interupted so u guess'd it i die and then they start curseing at me etc etc but hey i'd rather get booted from a Uldaman group then lose this babie :D

This is why I don't PuG.

All the people here complaining about Pallies and Locks needing on this... first trick is to wait until everyone else has chosen a roll before you choose yours (only on things you're gonna need) and if someone who can't use it Needs on it, POINT IT OUT TO EVERYONE before you roll. If someone's going to be a jerk you can either boot him/her or switch to Master Looter and designate it as one of those who have proved themselves to be honest.

Sure you may get screwed on one item, but you'll learn never to PuG with that character again, and bad reputation can spread really quickly, so make sure you point out when someone's ninja-ing loot they can't use.

Got this drop off a 41 wolf in Feralas. Was very stunned to see purple in the drop. As a 41 Hunter this is a wonderful drop, so happy. Had to train with bows, as I was a gun user till now. Already spent 5g and slapped a +7 sniper scope on it. Next person who tries to gank me is going to get a real surprise. :)

Picked up one of these and a Hurricane from the AH for my baby hunter. He is only level 28 at the moment but I thought I would put these away in the bank before the upcoming Hunter patch goes live and risk seeing prices go insane if Hunters become mega popular.

As a hunter, i know i'll use it till my early 50s because of he dps. + i stuck a +5 dmg scope on it.

I found one in Dustwallow Marsh, it dropped off of one of the Firemanes outside of Emberstrife's Den.

I'm a hunter, and this was my first purple drop. Happy days :)

I can't believe it is worth 300g, though. I thought my druid having 125g was rich.

Just dropped for me off of a level 40 Skullsplitter troll in STV! I always have autoloot on and after i looted it I thought "wait... did I just see purple?" and I was right. I was screeching. Especially because I'm halfway through level 38 and have zero gold for my mount. Looks like I'll be getting my mount on schedule now :)

Crazy high proc rate. It's not uncommon for me to get two, or even three procs in a single mob.

It seems to proc off of any/all ranged attacks:

-Auto shot hits
-Arcane Shot
-Multi shot
-Serpent Sting (applying it, NOT damage ticks)

I tested the proc with +fire damage and the proc will *not* receive extra damage from this stat. The proc happens quite frequently. Once tonight, I had it go off 5 times against a non-elite at-level enemy.

In addition, the proc can be blocked, even by enemies that don't have a shield or anything.

Not sure what to make of , so let's set it aside for our calculation for now.
Since
14 AP = 1 DPS
Damage = DPS x Weapon Speed
The Silencer Damage = 62.44
Bow of Searing Arrows = 67.5 (without Searing Arrow Fire Damage)

Slower speed = less ammo
Bow sound is easier on the ears than the gun bang.
Calculations do not include the Searing Arrow Damage.

So I bought the Bow and equipped it with a +7 scope.
